Not a bad option for a city stay, excellent location and professional front-desk staff. It's very close to the light rail and within walking distance of downtown, Camden Yards, etc. My room was clean with no major complaints. it is a short 0.7 mile walk to the convention center. The WiFi worked well; the breakfast was good. The staff was very friendly. My only cautionary note was that I couldn't control my room temperature to my satisfaction. The room was a little cool at night, and the hotel HVAC may have been in an AC-only mode.

First time staying here - overall, exceeded my expectations - very clean and well-maintained. Walking distance to Inner Harbor (or a short ride on the free People Circulator). Close to many restaurants, nice architecture. Convenient parking garage directly across the street.

FANTASTIC location. But the hotel is old and could be an amazing spot if updates... Bed covering. , carpets, tile etc. it's a great hotel but needs to feel fresh. Breakfast included was a plus, but eating with plastic utencs and drinkkng from foam cups felt cheap.

The location of the hotel was good as it was close to public transportation. However customer service at the desk was questionable. One of the desk staff(a female) was very rude and condescending at check in. We did not get the queen beds we requested. And the furniture in the room was scrapped and aged, NOT at all like the picture you see online advertised […] with two queen beds. This is no 5 star hotel, but the rooms were clean (not spotless) the bedding and linens and towels all clean and well presented. Hot water was plentiful and very hot, both at night and morning. The complimentary breakfast was very nice, with a choice of eggs, french toast, potatoes, and grits (just the hot options, danish, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt and […] fruit rounded things out. The front desk was exceptionally helpful in recommending places for us to go and routes to use. The hotel was nice and quiet. The walls were a little thin, and a couple of times we heard people talking in the hall as they passed our room, but nothing that rose to the level of overhearing neighbors "interactions". Our room was small, but clean. The bed […] was reasonable comfortable. The pillows weren't great, but there were three extras stored in the closet. The location was a 15-20 minute walk to the harbor, but was a straight shot down N Charles street,with bars, shops, and restaurants along the way. Keep in mind that the hotel is in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood, and not technically in the inner harbor area. Parking for us was $4 (for 24 hours on a weekend) in a garage directly across the street from the hotel. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay there again, as long as the weather was nice enough for us to walk to the harbor. Also - they serve full hot breakfasts (eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns etc), gratis. In sum, if you are looking for a huge room with a pillowtop bed, flat screen HD tvs with 200 channels and room service - shell out a few more shekels and go to a 4or 5 star joint closer to the harbor. If you are looking for a safe, quiet, clean, comfortable room in a cool neighborhood, and don't mind a bit of a walk to the tourist hot spots- this room is definitely a great place to stay. The place was nice, but being in the city I wanted a parking garage. Well it was never mentioned that if you wanted to park in the garage, it costs more money. Like $ 15 bucks a night more money. I thought that was a bit much. I found it very rude that I had to pay extra to park in a garage that was attached to the hotel that I already paid for!

The pictures online are somewhat misleading. Our room bright and sunny with lots of windows which made it very apparent that the room had not been cleaned well- ever. Just walking in the room you could see directly under the radiator and on top of the dresser had a thick caking of dust. Same with around the dresser, a big grey filthy ring which sharply […] contrasted the far red carpet. I asked the front desk and they offered to have me see another room, this one was much smaller and had one tiny window and no sunlight and I really couldn't see well enough to see if it was any cleaner. The bathrooms were very clean and the shower was nice. Didn't ever make it down to breakfast and wished that we had because over the weekend hardly any restaurants are open in the neighborhood. A 3AM wake-up by staff trying to eject rowdy guests added to the sketchy look of the hotel location. Everything else was adequate ie. beds a bit hard, breakfast of medium quality, finishes and furnishing dated/tired, staff friendly enough. Location to my visit location and low price were redeeming factors of the stay.

this place is dated, but for the price we paid to stay for the 2 nights, it is fine. we were very surprised on how easy you can get to the pier via the circulator (bus free of charge) we also walked down to the pier one night just to burn off the calories we had consumed (way too much eating) and it was manageable. Loved the free breakfast buffet :) […] basics but never the less it was free. The room got pretty hot at night because it is centrally controlled and it was warmer than normal kind of night, the heater was on still due to the time of the season :( We were sent a fan after speaking to the front desk which helped. When I entered the room I was given, the heat had been left on, and the room was about 90 degrees. There was no way to open the windows or turn on any way of cooling the room. Although the room was large, it hadn't been updated at all, and the decor was sparse. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would never stay here again.

The breakfast service was terrible...the staff was completely clueless on how to cook, serve, and organize breakfast and the bulk of us had to wait 30+ minutes just to get some cold homefries. The hotel staff was very helpful and kind! Check in was quick and so was check out. Parking garage is tight, we have a ford freestar. Overall I would recommend for business or leisure if you plan to be out more than in. If you plan to get a rollaway bed... Don't! Just get another room.

This is an older hotel but well maintained. The surrounding neighborhood is mixed use - busiess and there is a large library accross the street. It is quiet at night with only one or two nighttime restaurants about a block away. Parking is the biggest issue with only limited spaces on-site. Apparetnly they have a lot of wedding parties stay here.

I rented two rooms for some family to visit me in Mount Vernon. We spent some time in the rooms together as my apartment is too small to accommodate everyone. The rooms were tidy and seemed comfortable, and my family all enjoyed their stay. We've officially made it our hotel of choice for when they visit in the future. The only thing that didn't work […] was one lamp that probably needed a new light bulb - I think they had it replaced. The rooms are not newly furbished, but they are well-maintained. I liked the historic aspect of the hotel, especially the old drawings of the hotel from 1907. The location is very conveniently within walking distance to a lot of the best of what Baltimore has to offer, which was nice for me as it made showing everyone around easy. The breakfast buffet was great when we got there early enough, but around closing time the selection becomes paltry. The red cross was doing some sort of screening process in the lobby while we were there, but we didn't have a problem with it. Overall it's a nice hotel for a very reasonable price and great location that we plan on booking again in the future. Read more
