"They don't come worst then this one"

This was the worst hotel I have ever, ever, stayed at. I was charged $119/night for 5 nights stay for smoking room that we did not want. NO ROOM SERVICE FOR 5 DAYS!!!! The hotel stunk!! Empty bottle of alcohol next to garbage cans. Cigarette butts all over parking lot and entryways. Hallways stunk and were extremely hot. The on the fly breakfast or what ever they call it was a joke. Why have kitchen if if it is totally empty. Absolutely no cooking utensils nor any pots and pans. We didn't even get a single drinking glass. No ice in hotel. This place is a joke. Trust me, look around!!! You'll find everything this hotel is missing in the competition for way, way lower price.
"This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at"

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We booked this room via Hotwire.com and got an excellent deal on this hotel. I guess the saying you get what you pay for fits the bill for this hotel because this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We checked into the hotel late at night, and went up to our room and this is when the fun began. Upon opening the door to the room, we noticed that the carpet was so dirty that we refused walk on it without our shoes on. Then we pulled the blankets back and noticed stains and hair on the fitted sheets and pillows. Then we looked in the bathroom and the tub and toilet looked like they haven't been cleaned in weeks. We contacted the front desk and we were immediately assigned another room. We couldn't believe our eyes when we opened the door to the new room that we were assigned. This one was worse than the first room. After taking several pictures and being in utter disbelief that this place is open for business, we contacted Hotwire and spoke with customer service to get a refund issued, which wasn't an easy task. However, we refused to accept this hotel considering the gross conditions and eventually we were granted our refund. We checked out of this hotel and drove another 30 miles to a more acceptable hotel for our visit. I still am in disbelief of the gross conditions of this hotel. There were holes in the walls on the second floor near the elevator, and the two rooms we were assigned looked like they haven't been cleaned in weeks. Whoever is running this hotel should really look into a new process for verifying that rooms are being cleaned before charging people to stay here. It was so nasty in this hotel that I would rather sleep in my car than stay in this hotel under these horrible conditions. I will not stay at this hotel again.
"Shocked at this place"

My company has an account with ESA and I have been very happy with all of my stays till I came to Joliet. I read all the other similar reviews but thought they would have corrected the problem by now. I was wrong. For a place that only does housekeeping once a week I would expect the rooms to be cleaned with more effort. I walked into my room for the first time and there was hair and dust in the drawers with food still on the silverwear. The bathroom looks like it needs a good deep cleaning. The only good thing I hand to say is the guy at the front desk was nice when I checked in. I'm sitting here wondering how there are so many cars here. I'm going to call my company tomorrow and get me out of here.
"Dirty rooms unprofessional managers"
06/01/14 708724 Melrose Park, Illinois
My non smoking rooms smell like cigarettes, I was changed to a different room that hadn't been dusted, shower was dirty, toilet had a black ring growing on it, the manager so unprofessional unfriendly didn't apologize for her detergent supply beige out in the laundry room, to my inconvenience I had started a load and all she said to me was we are out, and told the front desk receptions that they need to place an order, did not seem to care I had started my wash without soap, at least a sorry would of made the difference to my experience, but this hotel is a true dump! Health code violations in other words I decided not to touch there so called free breakfast as I saw how dirty the rooms are I can only imagine how the rest of the hotel has to be. I would never come back to this place again.
"Body hair on the fitted sheet!!"

I got a great deal from Hotwire for this hotel and could not resist due to the short notice I needed to reserve a stay near the Bolingbrook area. I've read previous TA reviews and was very reluctant. And if your ever unsure of a place - listen to TA reviewers! No matter how great deal:)! First, check in with Steve was quick and easy. We checked in late so there wasn't a wait. I'm from Cali, so when the floor states "non-smoking". You should not have to smell smoke. The hallway to our room reeked like cigarette smoke. Peeyoo!! Room, decor - typical motel style with no bells and whistles. Apparently, they refurbished recently. They hired a poor contractor because there was paint stains on the bathroom floor. Looked as if they wiped up white paint on a brown floor. The cosmetics of the room are not important to me unlike the cleanliness of the room. The floor looked vacuumed, the kitchen and bathroom counters were wiped. The refrigerator cleaned. The bed fixed and looked cleaned. However, after drawing back the bed covers to get into bed. I noticed small black curly hairs on the fitted sheets. I drew the sheets back further to exam the fitted sheet and it was not changed! The sheet covers looked changed, but the fitted sheet was not! Who does that? Apparently, house keeping needs to be reeducated on cleaning. I immediately called the front desk to complain of my finding and to bring me clean sheets. I even informed him I'll change them myself. The front desk clerk brought me the sheets and informed me he took them out of the packages himself and are clean. I examine them and they we're clean. I pulled all the sheets off the bed and placed them on the floor. After that incident, did not want house keeping in my room during our entire stay. My expose to other employees during our stay where minimal. On check out day, I pulled all the sheets of the bed. Hopefully, house keeping won't use the same sheets! The gentlemen at the front desk was kind and directed us to the packaged granola bars, muffins and coffee to take to go. Of which, we helped ourselves.
"Cold IN Chicago"
01/10/14 Louis P Baton Rouge, Louisiana
On a record cold bussiness trip of 3 months , I was refered by a friend to stay at ESA. I found a full size refringerator, the kitchenett just big enough to be comfortable. The top floor excessible by elevator was coszy and warm in the -37 degree nights. Being very picky I would give ESA coodos for making my stay comfortable.
"Not very clean"

Leaky faucet in the bathroom all night. Ants took over in the morning. The staff didn't even ask why I was cutting out 6 days early. Didn't even want to take a shower. Charged my debit card 1000 then got my name wrong and they could not figure it out. Finally paid cash. Charged 138.32 for 2 nights fri and sat night was only refunded 58.52. Just wanted to get the hell out. Country Inns much better.
"Needs some cleaning up"

I often stay at ESA hotels and find them generally very good. The full kitchenette is a really nice convenience and it's a great value. The staff here seems to care, but the room I was in really needed some TLC. The edges of the counter, sink, etc. were peeling off; the dishes in the cupboard were stained and sticky; the coffeepot wasn't clean, and there was some milk souring in the fridge. The towels were old and rough. The place did not smell very good, and there were people in a room near mine who were incredibly loud and profane, disrupting the peace. I just didn't feel like the quality of my stay was up to the usual standards of ESA. The area was convenient to the highway, shopping, etc. and felt safe enough. I would probably return, I just won't look forward to it very much.
I was there for a long buisness trip and I want a month without getting my room cleaned. I complained and complained until finally I got the corporate number and they. And the next day. Front desk staff was incredibly rude. When my key would t work after 5 times of getting it fixed and being told to stop keepi g it by my cell phone (I was not) they finally realized the battery for the room was dead and changed it after saying, "I'm the unfortunate one who has to get on my knees and fix this". Like its my fault! Dirty awful place I will never stay in again even if my company puts us up!
When the manager smiled at me and asked me to leave a good review on Trip Advisor 'before' I even checked in... I should have known something was up. I had been trying to book a room here for some time, due to it's excellent location... but they rarely have rooms available. It's not because the rooms are reserved or currently occupied... the lack of available rooms is because they are not cleaned up for days. There are no maids or the staff doesn't care or who knows why?... ask corporate. Days go by with rooms in disarray. What a disappointment! On one evening of my stay at 6:30pm I walked up and down the halls and counted a dozen unoccupied unclean rooms. How did I know they were unoccupied, yet unavailable? The doors were unlocked and left ajar with the security latch open. There were no employees or maids around. Some of these rooms have been like this for two to three days... What a safety issue that is... especially considering the locks on the building exit doors are broken and the front desk is unstaffed after 11pm. Night staff doesn't answer the phone either. Garbage and towels and room key cards left thrown in the hallway floors for days. Stay away from this poorly operated ESH. Please get this property up and running smoothly again. It's location could make it a valuble resource to the nearby business parks.
