"Stale bread in breakfast"
During my breakfast I noticed that much of the bread provided by the hotel had already gone stale and mold could be found here and there. It was likely that I had already consumed some of the bread but the hotel would not agree to a refund of the room price. They instead only offered a $10 "compensation" because, according to them, it was already adequate […] to "fix the problem." I gather their theory is that I could use the money to buy the two of us our own breakfast, but that shows how little they care about their guests' experience of stay. I will never stay in this hotel again, and will question all other Econo Lodge locations. On a separate note, the Hotels.com team was subsequently very helpful and effective when responding to my complaint. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overpriced Filthy Room!"
I went to Frostburg, Maryland with a few friends for homecoming October 26-27th 2013 and we decided to stay the night. Most hotels in the area were booked but we found a room at the Econolodge. Upon checking in, we went up to the room and we were greeted by an overwhelming odor of urine. The room felt damp. We were instantly disappointed. Needless to […] say we didn't stay in the room long before wanting to get back out and continue our festivities. At the end of the night, we returned to the room for a few hours of sleep where we discovered our beds were DIRTY! I pulled back the sheets and found massive amounts of hair in the sheets and on the pillows, beyond disgusting! There's no way the bedding had been washed. If it weren't 2:30 a.m. when we discovered this I would have called management and requested a different room. We should have done this in the beginning based on the urine smell. We ended up not sleeping under the covers but in our coats and we put our own clothes over the pillows so our skin wouldn't be in contact with the filthy bedding. I also saw a stink bug crawling on my pillow the next morning while I was getting ready to leave. Also, we noticed a jar of pickles and an empty pastry box at the end of the hall that stayed there all day and night who knows how long it was there before we got there. Overall, I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anybody. The room had clearly not been cleaned in God knows how long. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Econolodge was great for our one night in Cumb"
The Econolodge was relaxed and comfortable. Thanks a million to the nice hotel staff who served breakfast at 5 instead of 6 to accommodate the anxious Iron Girl Triathletes who needed to get to Rocky Gap!Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was filthy, both beds had hair on the sheets the blankets were stained and it smelled like smoke even though it was suppose to be a smoke free room. Horrible hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cumberland md. visit"
Facility adequate. Continental breakfast very poor .(time was 8:30 a.m. coffee already empty and not refilled and poor quality of other items )Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, terrible night"
Easy to find, right off I-68. Bed was harder than a wooden slab, pillows were so lumpy and old that I could not get to sleep until early morning. Will look for another hotel for my trip home!Genuine Expedia guest review
"We decided Econolodge is NOT an acceptable hotel."
We were told the room was non-smoking, but the odor of stale smoke was overwhelming. The room needed renovation, especially new carpet, drapes, bedding to get rid of smell, or at least dry cleaning and steam cleaning of carpet. The handicap accessible bathroom was good, but that was about it. For the size of the room, it could have had a king sized […] bed. Bed lamps were out of reach so had to get out of bed to turn them off. The contrast between this place and the Best Western we stayed at in Scranton for the same price (with pool and hot breakfast) was just incredible! You should take this hotel off your list. We'll not take another chance on this brand. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"You Get What You Pay For"
This was the least expensive room that I had booked for our three night trip, so my fortunately my expectations were low. Walking down the second floor hall was an adventure in itself. The floor was very uneven. When entering the room, the floorboards were actually loose, creating quite a thump when you stepped on the hump in front of the sink. The […] room smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was supposed to be and was clearly labelled as a no-smoking room. We even opened the window for a few hours to ventilate the room. The beds creaked whenever the smallest move was made. On the plus side, the room faced into a wooded area and was not affected by outside noise. The room seemed fairly clean but in need of a coat of paint. The bathroom and shower were OK and there was plenty of hot water. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Yes it is out dated but is very clean. Personnel were very nice and the beds were very comfortoble. I which they have a pool.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Average price, average hotel."
The hotel was satisfactory, but nothing to rave about. The outside was worn and tired. Room was adequate, generally clean, and quiet. No extra towels or pillows i the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
good for overnight stay. not a fancy place but it was clean and quiet. Price was good too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stayed one night"
The hotel is worn for the price. If the price was in the 40-50 dollar range, instead of the 90+ dollar range, it would have made more sense to me.Genuine Expedia guest review
"It was ok. Not outstanding, but not a dog either."
The desk attendant was helpful in getting information about the area for us and allowing us to check in early. The room was adequate in size, basically appeared clean, beds ok, the carpet was very dark and couldn't tell about how clean it was. The "breakfast" was disappointing at best. It consisted of coffee, some cereal like fruit loops, milk, and […] small 'honey bun' type rolls. Although there was a juice machine, it was turned off and had no juice. We went elsewhere for breakfast. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Next to a mall"
Hotel is "tired". Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Not the cleanest hotel. It was OK for the price we paid. We were only there at night time. We skipped the continental breakfast--too scary. Toast, cereal, coffee.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, but skip breakfast"
Hotel nice and clean, Wi-Fi good. Breakfast horrible. Continental breakfast was cellophane wrapped mini "pastries" that were inedible. Good news it that the Perkins across the street serves breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel for the price."
Pleasant hotel. Would be better if they had a business center or computer available for guests. Was not aware of the continental breakfast ahead of time and was pleasantly surprised.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good roadside motel. Very quiet. Friendly staff."
The hotel was clean and in a quiet location. The quality of the Continental Breakfast (free) could certainly be improved. How about some fresh fruit or at least some donuts?Genuine Expedia guest review
"This is a bare bones hotel."
Hotel was clean. Not much for amenities. Beds were comfortable enough. Would not stay for more than one night.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Worst Hotel I've ever stayed in"
I've stayed in cheep hotels in at least a dozen states. This is the only one that I won't stay in ever again. I was really limited to choices in the area which would allow our dog, but I'd rather drive an extra 40 minutes and stay up in Somerset or even camp in a tent over ever staying here again. As soon as we arrived before we even checked in we were […] approached by 2 sketchy people in the parking lot wanting a cigarette. The room seemed nice enough until I pulled back the sheet and there was a long black hair on the middle of the pillow. Pulled the cover down further and the bed clearly hadn't been changed since the last customer. Besides the messy sheets there was another long brown hair in the middle of it. It's bad enough that they don't change the bedspread between customers, but not changing the sheets was too much. I booked this hotel because it was on hotels.com, but I'm going to recommend to hotels.com that they don't carry this hotel any longer. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. "Okay for a short stay"
This hotel is okay for an overnight stay. It smelled a little of cigarette smoke even in the non-smoking rooms. There was only a sheet and comforter on the bed, no blanket. The breakfast was a little lacking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap, for the worse"
This hotel is cheaply priced, but also cheaply run. The entrance stank of smoke, the room stank of bad men's cologne, the fixtures were spartan. Overall, a depressing experience.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Not the best. Not the worst."
It was a standard $55 hotel room. I wasn't expecting luxury. However the room was clean and the staff was very helpful and attentive. The breakfast was less than basic as was the exercise room. The wifi worked. Yay! Overall it was everything that I expected.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent place to lay your head."
If you are looking for a quiet place to lay your head when you've been on the road - the Econo Lodge is an acceptable choice. The elevator is unusually located on the outside of the building on the side but which i was a little leery of however with the open lighting everything is completely visible. If you are hesitant, I would advise the night checkin […] employee at least monitor your entrance. Also, if you need to iron, be sure to ask for it before you leave the front desk because you don't wanna go down the hall, in the elevator, outside and around to the front desk to get one! It was overall comfortable to stay for one night. Bathroom was clean but water was not draining quickly. Liked that sink is separated from shower and located outside of bathroom. It was not a bad odor but there was some smell inside of the room. Location is great. Close to mall and dining areas. Wi-fi speed was very fast and had lots of outlets for […] electronics devices. "Average Place to stay for a low rate for one night"
Hotel was okay for a one night visit. Wall's were a little thin as you could hear your neighbors argue in the middle of the night. Continental Breakfast was nothing special, but it was better than nothing.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Decent stay for the money."
Paid for a queen bed, got a twin. Very plain accommodations, but for the money was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
The front office guy was very helpful. You could tell the room wasn't vacuumed because i had moved the chair by the window & the line n the carpet we still there. overall though, it was clean & that's the most important thing.Genuine Expedia guest review
unpleasant odor in room, halls and stars unvacuumed. Average stay. Employee on staff was helpful, professional and courteous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"old converted red roof inn"
Would not stay again. small room cramped, a lot of cosmetic repairs need. had to go outside to get to elevator and "coffee and buns for breakfast. NEEDS some HELPGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was adequate ands well-maintained. There was only one chair in the room, and it looked like a small table may have been removed. Exactly one towel, washcloth, and hand towel for each guest. Only one bar of soap and one shampoo bottle for the two of us. I guess you could call it ecological! The continental breakfast included edible objects and tepid, […] weak coffee or tea. The best feature abut the room: reading lights and end tables on both sides of the bed. Unfortunately, the one pillow each of us had wasn't enough to read comfortably. Still, it was fine overall. "Solid hotel if not looking for frills."
Is a nice enough, modest hotel. No frills but basics good. If passing through the area in the future, we would stay there again as nicely situated near Cumberland, with shopping mall and many restaurants in vicinity.Genuine Expedia guest review
The name says it all- ECONO LODGE-.If all you need is a place to stay overnight- it will do. May want to take your own blanket since beds don't have them.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very warm and friendly."
Everything was neat and clean, the people working there were very nice and friendly, good free breakfast. Also, the surrounding area is pretty if you like mountains.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Ragnar relay starting in Cumberland Md"
The price matched the hotel. We were only at the hotel to sleep and then move on. I mentioned to the manager when we arrived that we would be leaving early in the morning and mentioned breakfast. He said it opened at 6 am. I said too bad we were leaving at 5 am. He set it up for us and we were able to have breakfast before we started our relay race. […] The six people in our group appreciated the effort. The hotel was quiet and clean. Many thanks. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"In dire need of paint and fabreze"
Very nice staff but this property is pretty run down. I got the impression it was dirty, but that could have been because it is in dire need of fresh paint throughout. Stale air. It will do in an emergency, and mine WAS emergency.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
