Décor was great, room very nice. If you like Casablanca, or you like the Bogart=Bergman movie, this is the hotel for you. They have a nice Continental breakfast and a great (free) wine and cheese in the late afternoon.

Great Location. Great Service. Well appointed bathroom. Comfortable double bed not Queen in my room. Virtually no work space and the room was small but no smaller than other cool boutique hotels that are literally a stone's throw from Broadway. I will be back.

I was more than impressed by the quality this hotel's services were. Free continental breakfast until 10:30 am on weeknights and til 11am on weekends. We had a wonderful stay at Casablanca during a snowy weekend. The second floor sitting area with a fireplace, coffee (really good lattes) and snacks was a nice place to warm up when we came in from sight-seeing. The rooms were comfy and the bathroom was huge with a nice tub. Surprisingly, they come in halfway through the day and give clean towels and […] to clean the room a bit! They even have umbrellas to borrow while we were walking around in the snow...very handy The only thing we needed to ask for was a space heater since the room was a bit chilly (it comes with the charms of an old building). This was only my second trip to New York, the last being over 20 years ago. The Casablanca Hotel was recommended to me by a friend. She had nothing to say but good things. I am happy to tell that my experience was the same as hers. The service was better than any other I have had anywhere in the world. I felt that I was an honored guest in a personal […] residence in the heart of the city. The hotel was always spotless and secure. The architecture was cozy, tasteful and comfortable. I always felt safe and secure as a single traveling woman. The common area was a real treat as it was located on the second floor, away from public eyes and was available 24 hours...as if at home...no need for a minibar in the room. Stepping outside the door you are right in Time Square and surrounded by nice, neighborhood restaurants, theatres, drug stores and even a Starbucks just around the corner. The police department is just across the street. Most places are within walking distance, however, if a cab is needed the Casablanca doorman will get one for you. The size of my room was not large, but had ample room for a queen bed, nightstands, table and 2 chairs, chest of drawers, good closet and updated clean bath. I never watched the television and always had a hot bath when I wanted it. If you want a calm, safe, clean hotel experience with individual, private care, stay at the Casablanca in New York! I live near NYC, but enjoy treating myself to an overnight stay occasionally. It always seems silly to splurge, so I pick an inexpensive spot and usually get what I pay for. The smiling doorman, cordial desk staff and charming ambiance of the hotel are a perfect counterpoint to the bustling city outside. Rick's Bar on the second floor provides a comfortable spot to sit by the fire to chat with friends or fellow travelers, enjoy coffee or tea, early evening wine and cheese and in the morning a generous continental breakfast. Although I was there during a cold snap, it looks as though there is a petite patio outside Rick's which can be enjoyed in warmer weather. The room was adequate, NYC hotel rooms can be small, but it had a lovely bath, a spot to sit and the turndown service is always welcome after a long evening on the town. My first trip to NYC was WONDERFUL. The Casablanca Hotel on W 43rd in Times Square couldn't have been better, worth every penny. Everyday FREE breakfast, coffee, happy hour 5p-8p with wine, champange, frese fruit, cheese, newspaper. The Casablanca hotel is very much like a lot of the smaller European hotels. Staff was very nice and helpful. We had a queen room which was a average size for New York hotels. Bathroom was spacious with very nice amenities including robes and slippers. It was a little noisy from new York street noise and being close to 42nd street as it had window air […] conditioners. As it was October we were able to close the sliding window in front of the air conditioner which made a big difference. The room also had a ceiling fan. They had a large room on the second floor with coffee, tea, cookies and fruit 24 hours a day. They also had a wine, cheese, fruit and crackers served from 5pm to 8 pm which was very nice and a very adequate continental breakfast in the morning. This place rates an easy 10 stars for service. We stayed 7 nights, and at no time did we feel anything but pampered and welcome. Though small, the rooms are beautifully decorated and appointed, the complimentary breakfasts are excellent, and the location can't be beat. Small hotel just off Times Square.Older building, but the service and friendlyness of staff more than makes up for it..Quality of cold breakfast as well as wine and snacks offered daily in lounge is exceptional. What a find! I've been to New York many times and I don't know how I never knew about Casablanca. The service was terrific; everyone made us feel at home. Not only is this hotel located within walking distance of most important sights in New York, but the staff is courteous and helpful, the rooms are lovely, the bed is very comfortable, and it is even quiet!
