Grand Hyatt Bali - Nusa Dua

This is my second time staying at this hotel. I love the grounds of this hotel with water features and grounds with beachfront location and also varying pools. We paid for the buffet breakfast which is great at this hotel. This hotel is located in Nusa Dua which is a quiet relaxing area with many hotels nearby.

Being a quite critical traveler, there was really nothing bad to say about this hotel. Only thing was we had the faucet drain problem and they never completely fixed it. We stayed for 5 days. Overall experience was great. We had joyful time in swimming pools, in the sea, and on the beach. The beach in front of the hotel is cleaner (not perfectly clean ^^) than I expected. Swimming pools are large enough to play. My 7-year-old boy really likes the slide which is just perfect for kids. One of the advantages of Hyatt is that it's very near to Bali Collection, just 5 or 10 minute walks depending on the village (Hyatt has 4 villages) you stay. Bali Collection has a supermarket (Co Co), a department store, and especially many restaurants. When you get tired of Hotel foods or want to have chief ones, restaurants in Bali Collection would be a good solution. The buffet for breakfast was good but felt like something is missing. Rental bicycles seem worn-out, but anyway we were able to ride them. To Kuta, it took about 25 minutes and 60000 IDR (or $7) by taxi (with a very good traffic condition). To Safari & Marine Park, it took about 1 hour and 40 minutes (with a bad traffic condition). Read more

Okay just to keep this review very simply I'm going to briefly decribe the pro and cons of our stay at the Grand Hyatt in Bali, Indonesia. My wife and I stayed there for 3 days before heading to Jarkata then back home to New York. Cons: - Very,very long walk to the room. - Room had a musty smell like it had not been used/clean/aired out in months. - […] Room TV was from 1985. - Room only had two towels. - Most activities were quite far from the room. - They never informed us of the additional charges to the credit card for beverages until we checked out. - There was a guest bed in the room that was filty. - Drinks, food were surprisely more expensive than in New York. - When we arrived one staff greeter seemed disappointed and did not smile. - Very disappointed and we feel this was absolutely NOT a five star hotel as we've have experienced with other hotels. Pros: - Beautiful beach view from the lobby. - While checking in we were given orange juice. - Lobby area was very relaxing and had serene amenities i.e. water ponds, water falls, earthy color marble floors.walls. good hotel, big with 600 rooms but through the wonderfull gardens a lot of privacy. The hotel is just great. There is a shopping center right across the stress called Bali Colection where you will find several restaurants with good menus all of them including also a Starbucks. It's the stunning grounds and prime position on one of Bali's best beaches that make this hotel a winner for me. There is a lot of positive to mention about this hotel, but unfortunately also a few negative. Positive: 1) Staff, I have been to Bali more than 10 times hence I know how friendly and warm the Balinese are, but the staff at Grand Hyatt really deserves a lot of credit for how their attitude and professionalism. 2) Spacious, the hotel is huge and so is […] the premises it is build on hence you don't feel that there is a lot of guests which is nice 3) Maintenance, the hotel is very well maintained, especially the gardens and beach. 4) Beach, the beach is beautiful and very big with plenty space for the guests (not crowded at all). Negative: 1) Age, it is an old hotel and that shows. It is well maintained, but some of the facilities are run down and the overall buildings and layout should not to be compared with more modern hotels. 2) Restaurants, One of the reasons why we choose Grand Hyatt was that the hotel is marketing that it has 5 restaurants and 3 bars, but some of these restaurants were closed! I honestly thought that a hotel belonging to the Hyatt group would be upright about their marketing on their webpage. I do understand that it is low season hence it might not be economically viable to keep all open, but the hotel should be open about this. 3) Breakfast, the selection of food was average at best and the quality was mediocre. This hotel has fabulous gardens, flowers, lilly ponds, herons seeking fish from the ponds, and interesting serpentine swimming pools. Everything very well kept. Grand King room was large with an extra 'day' bed so it would easily take 2 children. Pools 1.2 to 1.3m deep one with water slide so ideal for kids. Very nice resort if that is your thing. Stayed there because a conference I was attending was there. However, Nusa Dua area is the 'Singapore' of Bali. Sanitised to the point where character is lacking. Could be anywhere in the world. Not the true Bali. My Boyfriend (21) and myself (19) recently returned from our first overseas holiday together. We first stayed in Kuta at a 3 star hotel for approx 7 nights and then spend our last 4 nights at The Grand Hyatt in Nusa Dua. We had chosen The Grand Hyatt for our stay as we wanted to finish our stay on a positive, relaxed note. However when we first arrived […] at The Grand Hyatt our first reaction was "wow", everything was up to standard, very clean and spacious. After spending the first day there we were ready to return to Australia (home). We found the staff was helpful if approached but otherwise came accross as very up tight and not welcoming. There isnt alot to do in Nusa Dua so keep this in mind when booking. The pool was great, however wasnt very deep. The breakfast was simple, and was often running out of our favourite meals. The hotel grounds were too big, it was a lengthy walk to the restuarants, pool & reception. The room itself was very clean, however we even though we requested a twin bed, we were only given two singles. The beds were very hard, my boyfriend had a sore shoulder and back for most of our stay in Nusa Dua due to the beds. I was also very disapointed that there was no wi-fi included in the cost of our stay. They did offer wi-fi services at an additional charge for 30minutes of internet use in the internet cafe, considering our stay at the 3 star hotel offered free in room wi-fi I was quite annoyed. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to others, however I would only recommend it to elderly people that don't plan on doing anything during their stay in Nusa Dua. Read more

There was a 10-15 minutes que for breakfast each morning which is not acceptable. Long que for the egg station since only one person was engaged with that. Long wait for tea and coffee. […] Not very interesting breakfast either. Bad hotel management. Luggage pick up from room did not work. Long time to wait for housekeeping to make up beds for the children - hotel needed to be reminded about that even though reservation was made long time prior to our arrival. Only 2 water bottles in a family room for 4. Many bad small things adds up and builds a bad impression. Beach dirty when windy weather. Grand Hyatt is just paradise!! My husband and I went for my 40th birthday, and it was everything i thougfht it would be. Hotel lovely and staff all very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Beaches gorgeous, pools gorgeous, and all grounds of the hotel gorgeous. Just a shame we had to come home. Drinks a bit pricey in the hotel.

最开始给我安排的房间很不满意，在顶楼，而且隔壁是空调机房，噪音哄哄响。我预定时说要大床，结果是两个单人床。注明了是蜜月，结果任何蜜月布置都没有。后来给我安排到了一楼，一楼园林景观真是太好了。而且安静。酒店的早餐不好吃，种类少。但胜在园林环境好，泳池好。景色美，动物多。
