The stay was more than expected, customer service was excellant from the top down and the surroundings were so relaxing. The location is not very far from the strip but just far enough removed from the daily traffic and noises. The resort provided a shuttle to the strip if you chose not to drive yourself. "Employees Will Put This Place Out of Business"
Beautiful resort with great amenities like free use of kayaks and pedal boats, fire pits for s'mores, white sand beach, awesome view of Lake Las Vegas, BUT.., Check in took over 3 hours with front desk telling customers to go to the Hilton next door at the customers' expense (this hotel will only refund cancellations but won't pay for Hilton stay). […] Shortage of staff and selling out rooms were the excuses sung over and over again by hotel's employees. Operator and concierge won't answer the phone. It took 4 calls with countless ringing and still not answer. It took me to call Corporate before someone at this hotel answered my call. The beach is full of debris, lake water is murky. Pools and lake are insufficiently manned. I wouldn't be surprised if someone sued this place for damages and injuries. Amenity hours vary depending on which employee you talk to. The security tried to kick us out of the pool at 9pm when we've been told that it closes at 10pm. According to the Security, it closes at 8pm. We were told that the kayaks can be checked out at 7am when it's really at 8am. To compensate for all the hassle, the managers (Kirsten and Desiree) promised to waive resort fees and food and beverage, room service but upon check out, they were all charged to me. As my title, only good thing was pool. It was nice with a water slide, which our kids enjoyed all afternoon. This was our second experience in Lake Las Vegas. Previously, we stated at this same hotel back in 2010 when it was still a Loews property. It's not much different now. The hotel itself is beautiful, the lobby and restaurants are all nice, the pool area is a good size, has a water slide that all kids can go on and a LARGE children's pool which is only […] 3 feet deep all around. The views of the lake are lovely, Rick's has plenty of offerings as far as breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The beds are comfortable, hotel is easy to navigate...my ONLY complaint is that the rooms aren't as clean as I'd like them to be. The floors are dirty, and the bed linens and towels just didn't smell clean. The edges of the carpet where it meets the walls had a very thick line of gross dust. That is something that is easily cleaned, I feel as though a hotel that is otherwise very nice, should pay more attention to room cleanliness. Some of the furniture was stained, holes in the carpet, things like that. I would definitely stay there again, but I do hope they work on the room cleanliness. Because it really is a fantastic hotel in a nice area, and the staff is ALL WONDERFUL...from the valets, to the bellmen, to the hotel manager, to the wait staff at Rick's Cafe. Lake Las Vegas is a beautiful place to stay but 30 to 40 minutes from the strip so come prepared to drive! Rooms are nice and bed is comfortable. Service is prompt and friendly. Be prepared to add 25.00 per day to your room rate which they like to call a "resort fee". When I asked what it was for they replied it was for use of the pool, self parking […] and "free internet" among other "free" items. Obviously NOT FREE!! They smiled and chuckled when I brought up that point but it does add significantly to your room rate. Two channels on the TV had no sound and there was a weird machine noise that was constantly droning at night. The resort is overpriced considering you can stay on the strip in a nice hotel for a quarter of the cost. I won't go back. I've stayed here three summers in a row. Clean, beautiful hotel with nice surrounding area. The hotel restaurants are a bit overpriced with very few restaurant options under 15 minutes away. But here are some things that you should know if you're going: 1) It's at least $60 for a cab ride out to this place and the shuttle that they have is pretty unreliable. Rent a car if you're staying here. 2) This is most certainly a "family" […] place ... I had read about there being an "adult" pool ... that, friends, was a complete lie. Not only that ... but, the pool closed at 8pm. (maybe it was 10, but super early.) 3) The Village, the "hub" of activity in the area, is a ghost town. Chose to stay here over Las Vegas since my husband and I were traveling from CA to CO and wanted a restful overnight experience. Our room was less than stellar and not quite the lake view we paid for. You can see it on a chair from the patio. Our patio was littered with cigarette butts, there was a McDonalds ketchup packet behind the nightstand and […] the furniture was worn. We had issues with the valet at checkout. We waited in 110 degree heat with our car insight, but not pulled around. When we asked how much longer the response was,"I thought you would get it yourself". We didn't even have the keys. The hotel is nice in a great location on the water. Lake Las Vegas is a bit of a ghost town. There are alot of shops that have closed in the shopping area. We enjoyed our stay. We had three rooms, although they were packed, they managed to have us all together. With all 3 rooms next to one another it made our stay easier for us. "Quiet, relaxing & away from lights & action"
Very beautiful resort and grounds. Pool area and beach was relaxing and staff was very accommodating. Booked a premium lake view, but our view was mostly of the grounds with a slight view of a sliver of the lake if you went out onto the 1 ft deep patio and looked right. The beds were comfy, room clean and the coffee/tea bar in the room was nice. Made […] use of the free kayaks and went out on the lake for about an hour or two. Resort provided a car ride to the casino resort next door which had a few restaurants and shops. Very disappointed in the closures of the shops in the beautiful village which could be developed into a happening place! Cobblestone streets, waterfront property, beautiful decor and there may have been 3-5 open stores but this wasn't part of our resort anyway. It was just nice to visit. The casino there was great if you like partying with retired folk, having overpriced, under filled drinks and listening to a cheesy cover band, but that's Vegas baby! Easy drive to the airport and to the Hoover Dam. The drive wasn't too bad to the strip either and I think the resort had a shuttle to take you. "Nice hotel in beautiful setting"
The hotel was very nice; staff was gracious but at times overwhelmed with number of guests. Our room did not have a refrigerator. We were told that many rooms were without one because they had a tendency to break down. We were there for 3 days; it was an inconvenience and added extra cost to our stay since we couldn't keep some grocery items fresh for […] snacking. "Alternative to staying on the strip"
This is a nice hotel, about 30 min from the Las Vegas airport, and about 40 min from the strip. The hotel has several outdoor activities available (pools, lake access, etc.) and there are several nice outdoor seating areas with fountains and fire pits. There are a couple pretty good restaurant options at the hotel, but otherwise you need transportation […] to get to other shopping/dining areas. The staff was very friendly. Lake Las Vegas is pretty far out there and there's only one small casino nearby. We were hoping the Westin would be quiet and relaxing, but we found out that Memorial Day weekend in the Vegas area is busy no matter where you go. The hotel isn't as nice as we thought a Westin would be and the pool was packed with kids who were there for basketball tournaments. […] I also think they let locals in for free or a very small fee, so that doesn't help when the hotel is already sold out. "best hotel ever"
The staff was great, the hotel was great the rooms were clean and the bed was so comfortable I didn't want to leave. We had a gorgeous view of the lake. There is no casino at this hotel which made it nice and relaxing. We ate at two of the restaurants both were excellent. I will definately be staying there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Used to be great; now not so much."
We had stayed at this resort over 25 times when Loews was managing the property. We've been there twice since Westin has taken over and the level of customer service has dropped dramatically. Our last visit took 2 phone calls, a visit to the front desk and over 12 hours to resolve the problem of a crying/barking dog in our wing. The parking lot has […] poor signage for boat/RV parking that is not enforced at all! Every night we had trouble parking our boat. That was only an issue one time when Loews was managing the property and they comped our resort fee. Westin did nothing to compensate for our troubles. (This property is 4 miles from Lake Mead launch ramp and has dozens of boat owners as guests on any given weekend). The Marrakech Express coffee house used to be a fun alternative to a sit-down breakfast. Now it is 100% a Starbucks, with their icky coffee and pre-packaged food. We drove 30 minutes out of our way to Sunrise Coffee on Sunset Rd (which was great!) because we were so disappointed with what Westin did to our beloved little cafe. Speaking of food, Rick's Cafe (sit-down restaurant) has tanked as well. Loews had scratch-made yogurt on their buffet bar. Westin has Yoplait. Loews also had scratch-made granola. Westin has none. Westin does have sickly sweet "cinnamon roll pancakes" that were not fit to eat. Oh! And don't bother with room service! We paid to upgrade to a room with a better view, which was disappointing. The pool area did not have enough beech chairs and not enough umbrellas so we could not use the pool.
