"Good Locaton, Good Price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The hotel was adequate and the location convenient for the event I attended. The price was reasonable. I appreciated the free continental breakfast. The breakfast room--an interior room without windows--is small and was crowded both days I was there. Alternate seating is in the more pleasant lobby with windows! Also at this Best Western, unlike at other BWs where I've stayed, the towels noticeably scratchy, not soft, are either old or require different laundering.
"Good food around the hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
They were very friendly and close to everthing, walked all weekend, loved it
"The Best Hotel on Ocean Beach"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This might be the nicest hotel based right on the ocean at Ocean Beach. The staff was very helpful, the room immaculate, and the location second to none. I've stayed at a number of hotels in the area, but I won't stay anywhere but here in the future. You can't go wrong with an ocean front suite!
"Design savy with great service!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We needed a last min getaway for a few days to unwind and enjoy a romantic getaway. The hotel staff was awesome very friendly made us common folk feel like celebrities. Great service location and atmosphere . If your dog people you will love this hotel very pet friendly. We will be staying here again and bring our dog as well . The ac in the room was a lil uncopertive however the weather was perfect so not much use was needed. Room service food was great small portions but very tasty. Location is great have drinks on the. 9 h floor lounge and what the game from a spectacular view.

Vagabond Hotel was a good value. The location was good with shopping & restaurants nearby.

During warm weather, crowds pack the waters off Mission Beach and Pacific Beach, two of the most popular stretches of San Diego sand. These laidback locales are known to host the occasional farmer’s market or arts festival. Mission Boulevard connects both beaches and leads north to La Jolla.

The food was great and the pool was enjoyable for the kids. The breakfast was good and saved us time in the morning. The one bad thing was that the hotel is right next to a nude girls bar...not exactly family friendly.
"Right on the bay, 5 minutes from mission beach"
We came here for our 5 year anniversary and was happy with everything. We walked around the bay and also went to the beach. We loved the robes, coffee, pillow top bed, and the views. The manager Steven was awseome. Thanks Dana.
This is the first Hampton Inn we have stayed at which didnt have a in-room refridgerator. The room was also smaller than other locations.
I stayed to commute to San Diego Convention Center by Metro.. The hotel was a little far to reach metro station. And the exchange of the train also was not as smooth as I expected. I will choose the other hotel when I visit the Convention Center in future. Breakfast was as good as I expected. Bed, bath, internet connection was very smooth.
"Nice"
I took my mom and 3 months old baby to San Diego for three days vacation. The hotel is very nice and quite. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. We enjoyed our trip and hotel.
"Surrounding Neighborhood"
The hotel was located in a really convenient area to so many attractions. The downside was that it lacks aesthetic appeal - it's in an industrial area. I didn't feel unsafe though.
"Hampton Inn Seaworld"
I did alot of research before booking this hotel. The breakfast bar was important for my family, and it did not disappoint! The room was a little small, for 2 beds, but clean and comfy. There were only maintenance issues, like a little mold on the bathroom ceiling. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

"Comfortable beds!"
We stayed at the Hampton for three nights and we were very pleased with the service we received and the quaintness of the hotel itself. Other customers were correct in that there are some "girly" bars nearby but we did not let that bother us as there were other conveniences that out weighed the negataive. Nice breakfast but very croweded after 8:30. […] Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would stay there again! Read more
Very close to Sea World and resturants. Good hot breakfast, although line tends to back up at the waffle station, they should move it to different part of breakfast area. We stayed multiple days and breakfast was different each day. We would stay here again.

"Hampton Inn Seaworld San Diego CA"
Excellent value for the money. Good breakfast, good sized room, clean, quiet, free wi-fi and newspaper. Friendly helpful staff. Wished we could have stayed longer than we did.

"Nice, hotel, neighborhood is safe, ignore "Nudes""
This is nice hotel, priced very reasonably since it is located at the junction of two free ways. In the rooms you can not hear the traffic. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. We have stayed here three times and have been very satisfied each time. If you are offended by a sign down the road from the hotel that says "Nude girls", well, […] then you are easily offended and should probably not leave the "safety" of your own home. The neighborhood perfectly safe, and the hotel is located perfectly for Sea World, Downtown San Diego and most other things you might like to do and see while in San Diego. All this without the price. Read more
Check in was less than 5 min, hotel staff were so helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

My only wish was that we had a mini fridge in our room. With 2 small kids that would have been a huge help. Instead we had to have an ice chest in our room.

Took grandsons to San Diego and stayed all week. Location was close to Balboa Park, Sea World, beaches, and harbor. Kids loved pool and breakfasts were great. Major streets merge near hotel and made some entrance/exits awkward, and neighborhood had some questionable areas (explain Nudie Cuties to a child???). Room was clean except for spot on carpet. […] Overall very good experience. Negatives were minor. Read more
"Surprisingly Wonderful!"
We stayed one night on a quick mini vacation to San Diego. Our hotel room was clean and very nice. The front desk people were so courteous and kind. The cookies were a nice surprise and much enjoyed. Our breakfast in the morning was delicious and it started our day off just right! I would recommend this hotel to all my friends. As a matter of fact, […] we decided that this would be our hotel choice anytime we go to San Diego! Read more
"Excellent Service"
Very friendly staff. Cesar, the guy in the Front Desk was very helpful and friendly and helped us with early check in as soon as our room was ready. The breakfast was SUPER!!! There was plenty of coffee, tea and jucices available ALL day!
"San Diego Old Town"
Very Nict Stay, Friendly Staff and Good Breakfest. Will stay agin when in area.
"Great Hotel"
The hotel is wonderful and the staff is extremely helpful. They are efficient in calling cabs promptly. The Old Town transit centre is also very close. The breakfast is pretty good. A great Mexican restaurant is metres away from the restaurant as is a Denny's. The only problem is the neighborhood. Its really bad and unsafe.
"Best service!"
We had arrived a lot earlier than we had anticipated and they allowed us to check in way early. The service was extra friendly - from the front desk clerks to the breakfast servers. It was a perfect place to stay for our family of 4 and we will stay there again when we go to San Diego next. HIGHLY reccommend!
Staff were very helpful, especially regarding shuttles. We were given rides to SeaWorld, Old Town, the airport, and the cruise terminal. They were the only hotel that had airport transportation at 4:30 a.m.

"Great Place to Stay"
Our 2 nights in the Hampton Inn Seaworld were very nice. The reception was particularly good. Location is fine especially if you have a car; without one it could be difficult. The breakfast was outstanding,.

"Hampton Inn, Seaworld, San Diego"
It was a very nice place and the staff were excellent and gracious. We enjoyed it very much. The surrounding neighborhood was not very nice or safe. We walked to the Old Town area, which was awesome, but the neighborhood inbetween was absolutely unsafe after dark.
"Great Value"
Pros: Great value, fantastic breakfast, professional staff, comfortable rooms, good location close to restaurants, Sea World and Old town. Cons: Slow internet connection, close to a "nude bar"
"good one"
close to sea world
"Hampton Sea World/Airport San Diego CA"
Front desk personnel could not have been nicer or more helpful. The breakfast was outstanding and proximityto the airport convenient. However, carpet in our room did not look clean, and the sheets on the bed were no longer white, although they looked washed. We did not like being in the "red light" district with "Cutie Nudies" right across the street. […] We are two older middle aged women who didn't appreciate eating at Denny's with "street people" walking in while we were eating. Read more
It is not one of their best hotels. But it is conveniently located and a good value
"Nice Hotel For Seaworld Trip"
This is a great hotel for a short stay in SD for a visit to Seaworld. It's not in the nicest neighborhood so we didn't feel comfortable walking to nearby Old Town, but you could if you wanted to. We didn't get a car because they have a shuttle from the airport (just make sure you get on the right one as there are two Hamptons that have airport shuttles) […] and a cab ride to Seaworld is approx $15 w/ tip each way. (That was cheaper then getting a car and then having to pay to park.) The breakfast is good and they also have a nice pool. Would stay here again. Read more
"had a great stay"
Hotel staff were very helpfull and seemed like they wanted to make my stay as stress free as possible.
"Perfect"
The hotel was great. The staff was very friendly and informative. Great recommendations on places to eat. The breakfast buffet was very good. Different selections each day. Everything was very close (Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Old Town, Seaport Village). Did not have to drive more that 10 miles for any attraction. WILL stay here again. Awesome first […] visit to San Diego. Read more
"Clean & Omfortable"
Location is tricky until you find alternate way into the hotel parking. Definitely worth it! Good value at only 1.5 miles to Old Town and about 2 miles to airport. Clean and comfortable rooms. Justin at the front desk was a wealth of info and sent us to wonderful resaurants. Close to banks, supermarkets, Mission Bay and downtown at q good price.

"mixed feelings about this hotel"
Would I recommend this hotel to others? Yes and no. Yes if price is a major factor because it is cheaper than others and has free parking and free hot breakfast. Yes because the staff is very nice and accommodating. Yes because it is very close to the airport, zoo, and seaworld. I would not recommend it to my family or friends who would be offended […] by "Nudie Cuties" located about 2 blocks away and their clientele, or those wanting rooms with scenic views, or those who like to jog outside, or those who are afraid of driving (since the access to this site can be somewhat tricky). There were lots of families with little kids staying there, and I never did feel uneasy about the setting, but some people might not like it. Overall the lobby and dining areas are spacious enough, and the room sizes seem standard, but the condition of the property could use improvement. My room was musty smelling, had small stains on one wall, and small spots of mold on the ceiling above the tub. I was later upgraded to another room, because I wanted a refrigerator, and that room did not have any of those problems. What tips the scale for me is the staff. They were friendly, eager to hear and address concerns, and attentive. Read more

"Will stay here again!"
The front desk staff was so kind! They welcomed us with a cold bottle of water, gave us written directions to get to Old Town along with a San Diego Map plus he told us where to find the best Mexican food and a coupon! They asked us which floor wanted and we picked the first. We saw that it was close to the lobby yet our room was super quiet. Now the […] view wasn't nice from that room but that wasn't our priority since we had a 10 month old with us. The neighborhood was not great but everything cool in S.D. is within 5-10 minutes of this place. Walking distance to Old Town and the Trolly Depot. Breakfast was yummy and different each day. Nice coffee and tea options. We had a great time there! Read more
"Hamton Seaworld"
Hotel was great but the area it's located in was not. Thanks for the wonderful stay!
"Good"
It met my needs for a short night. We were out early and the bag breakfast was appreciated.
"Had fun"
Love the breakfast & coffee they had for their guests. Overall, we had a good time.
Very hard to get into and out of hotel because of location so close to freedway offramp and a lot of fast traffic on surrounding streets. Good front desk service but not good food. I am getting very tired of Hampton Inn breakfasts and the congested areas where they are served.
