Great beds, nice bathrooms. The rooms are confortable and a bit luxurious, just enough to be above average without the above average price. Complementary Breakfast is the same in all Hamptons Inn and is great. There is fruit, cereals, you can make your own waffles and there are also hot trays with egg creps an egg muffins. The hot beverage sation […] is nice! you can make your own coffe; Bold, Regular, Decaf or even a Hot Tea. There is everything you need in that station. Cups, lids, paper coffe sleeves (zarfs), straws, coffe-mate hazelnut, french vanilla, etc. You get what you would like to have at an Starbucks with out the "Coffe Barista" asking you 1,000 questions on how you want your coffe... its available all day and night! We went on a Ski trip to Taos Ski Valley. We used our own car to get to the base of the mountain and got there in about 25 min. There is an alternative city shuttle that will take you round trip for $2 dls.... yes $2.00 round trip. so have your ski/snowboard/photography equipment ready and forget about driving. Read more

This is an above-average motel. It is a bit out of town, but it is a quick drive to get there. The only minor issues is that you have to go outside for a moment to get to the enclosed pool.

The hotel was clean comfortable but lacking in thing like in room safes and the breakfast while adequate was not creative the omelets were made from dried eggs. The locale was convenient but the neighborhood was very uncreative. The pool was great and the staff were very kind and helpful.

After being able to cancel a booking at an unairconditioned bed and breakfast, we booked a last minute reservation at the Hampton Inn. It and its cool room was a welcomed site. It was a nice big room and the bed was comfortable unlike the B&B that we spent one hot, uncomfortable night in.

We were in a ground floor room which overlooked the pool & patio area. No net curtains so we felt rather exposed! No free rooms to change to. No fridge in room, but one was delivered to us on request. Internet wasn't working in our room & about 4 other rooms. We stayed 2 nights in this hotel while skiing Taos; while it was not impressive by any means, it served its purpose. Staff was friendly for the most part and hotel was clean. Pool was warm which was fine with me but hot tub was luke warm at best and when we notified staff it was brushed off. WiFi (one of the reasons we picked this hotel) was down throughout […] stay and when we notified staff we got a run around answer. Big snowstorm came overnight and knocked out power on checkout morning and throughout the previous night, needless to say it was a little cold in our room without heat, staff was notified and it, again, was brushed off. I understand that not all things will go as planned and some of these things might have been out of their hands; however, I do feel as if they could have shown a little compassion as we paid a decent price for 2 nights and I kind of feel like we got screwed considering all the stuff that happened. Least they could do was throw in another night or something, oh well though, guess we know where we are not staying next time. My wife and I took our two children to Taos. The hotel was clean and the staff were pleasent. The breakfast was nice and provided for some snacks for later. The heating was a little hard to control. It was too hot, we finally turned it off and opened the window (15 degrees outside). The pool was a draw for us with two young children. The hotel is in a good location on the edge of town where the traffic isn't too bad and it's easy to find. The front desk staff was very helpful when we didn't want to accept the room that they first gave us. The hotel was designed so poorly that it ruins your chance of having a restful stay if you're on the first floor. The laundry and housekeeping […] area is right in the middle of the first floor and the doors were always open and the noise from the machines and the booming Mexican music echoed up and down the floor, it was ridiculous. We were lucky to stay in a quiet room on the second floor, but our friends were on the first floor by one of the doors and it slammed all night. Hotel was clean and service was fine. The water pressure in the bathroom sink was just a trickle. I fail to understand why so many US hotel/motel chains suddenly switched a few years ago to using very warm comforters the whole year around. At least Hampton Inn had regular blankets available in t he closet. When we arrived the air conditioner was set […] at the coldest temperature and the speediest fan setting. It was freezing--and this was early Oct. at high altitude. Had to get under the comforter to get warm, but then was too warm before time to get up. Using up expensive electric air conditioning in order to cool a room so the patron can sleep under a very warm covering seems just plain wasteful. Besides, arriving to a frigid room is not welcoming! The hotel and room seemed okay but after that point things went down hill. The room seemed clean but the hotel needs some more TLC in order for it to live up to Hampton Inn's standards even. The room had a dirty smell to it and the bedding smelled even worse. I know they had been cleaned but still had a strange odor and kept me from being able to sleep. […] The bathroom seemed nice but the shower head barely worked at all. I had to almost run in circles to get wet by it. Low water pressure as well and barely got the soap rinsed off of me. That was the extent of our stay there. Thank goodness it was only for one night. On top of that, it was completely on the other end of town and you had to drive a while to get to anything. I would stay in Santa Fe or Albuquerque and just drive up there for the day. The standards are better there and you will have a better time not having to worry about a substandard hotel or room. Read more

This was a very nice hotel with a very nice staff, but I would have liked more local flavor. Also, it is out of town, not very far, but you have to drive to get to the plaza. However, many Taos attractions are out-of-town anyway so you should probably have a car anyway.

We were very impressed with hotel. Great price. Front desk workers were very nice & helpful. Room was very clean. We used room with shower bench, only problem was the shower curtain wasn't long enough & water went everywhere even tho we tried to not let that happen. We had to use our towels to dry the floor so we wouldn't fall. that's the only issue […] we had. Our room was the first room nearest to the front desk & kitchen dining area. We never heard a peep. Very nice quiet room. They were laying new carpeting & the workers did a great job so their work was done by the time most quests were coming back to their room for the night. The carpenters were very nice. The morning breakfast was fantastic. The best waffles ever.Fresh blueberrys & strawberries with whipped cream on them if you like. Eggs toast, muffins, danish, english muffins Coffee, teas, milk, fresh fruit & fruit salad with cantaloupe, honet dew, grapes. Food was very good & very nice that it comes with your stay every AM 6-10. Ladies in kitchen area couldn't of been sweeter or nicer. They were a great help telling us about the area. After breakfast they had chips & salsa and several types of fresh warm cookies, Choc. chip, oatmeal, peanut butter, macadamia nut vanilla chocolate cookies. They were fantastic. When I made the reservation I was not informed that there had been sprinkler damage. The gym was closed because of the maintenance. The first room we checked into had a draft from the air conditioning unit so we had to change to another room which was much better. Staff was very friendly but I don't think I will stay there again.

When I first stayed at the Hampton in Taos it was fairly new and in good condition. That was many years ago. It is now in need of a face lift. After checking in we changed rooms because the window in the first one wouldn't close, let alone lock, and we were on the first floor with the window facing a side street!
