Hampton Inn Greenville - Travelers Rest - Travelers Rest

This was just what it was cracked up to be. Simple but well run. No surprises. Adequate but not fabulous food options. Not in a glamorous spot, but very close to Furman. Fine for families visiting the school, about 2 minutes away from campus.

Nice staff, but hard to sleep because of the busy road and inadequate insulation. Also, window air conditioner was loud. One evening we came back and found that our room had been left open all day!!! Would not stay there again.

Room already cool, quiet and peaceful. Hotel was smartly located near CVS, Walmart, strip mall. Places to get Breakfast and dinner 24 hours. Staff very nice, friendly, and informed. During our check-out we were offered cold water to go! I was quite thirsty and it was right on time.

Very pleasant but was concerned that on both mornings of my stay there were police and emergency vehicles outside front entrance, otherwise it was very quiet and super convenient to my destination. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Having to walk into the hotel through a smoke screen was nasty! The registrar ran in after us and wreaked of smoke. Was not accommodating at all. No cookies, no hot water for tea, no decaf coffee in the evening. Don't think we will go back after staying there at least 6 times. A pitty how service has died.

Great experience! Enjoyed running 6 miles on the bike/walk path right across the street. When I returned, I inquired about how long breakfast lasted. The staff offered a tray in case I didn't want to come back down, which I really didn't. That was so nice not to have fumble what food I could carry. Very nice breakfast offerings too. I was so happy […] to see biogdegradable plasticware, plates and cups. I don't know if this is a corporate decision or just this hotel, but that really means a lot to know I'm not contributing to more waste when I eat the breakfast. mold in the bathroom, fingernails on the bath counter and they WEREN'T ours. A 50.00 charge on my charge card while I was there which is supposed to be credited to my acct. There was no reason to charge my acct unless it was warrented after my check out.

Close to the Furman golf course where my son played in a tournament but air conditioning was out in the common areas (lobby, elevators, halls) our entire 2-night stay. Unpleasant in late June in South Carolina. Room felt a little dirty, particularly the carpet.

The Swamp Rabbit Trail is right behind the hotel. This is a wonderful 10-mile paved trail for walking and non-motorized vehicles (bikes, scooters, wheelchairs). While the hotel looks dated on the outside, the inside is updated and very clean and nice. Good and clean breakfast spread with plenty of choices. Limited tables so tight sitting sometimes but clean. All around was pleasantly pleased!

Stayed at Hampton Inn Travelers Rest while attending and performing at Greenville Highland Games. Staff were polite, room was clean and comfortable. The bed was definately comfortable. Will be staying again next year.
