From the sunday night 7 pm one hour wait check in the stay went downhill fast. They did not have the room I requested and I had to insist on a kingsize bed which they eventually found. Our room was beside a room that had multiple children and loud adults. Apparently they had 3 rooms on this floor because you could hear them going between roims allowing the door to close on the bar so that they could access each room without a key. Hello, my name is Kyle Spess. My friends and I stayed at your resort Aug 17 into Aug 18. We all had an awful experience at the resort. We had to wait in line for 2 and a half hours just to CHECK IN. Secondly the room we stayed in was disgusting. Mold in the bathroom covering the shower curtain. The sheets and pillows had these gross black marks all […] over them and one of the beds smelled like something died in it. Lastly we had called for an extra bed and pillows, only to wait an hour to sit on hold again for another 20 minutes with housekeeping to find out we couldnt get another bed, and we never got our pillows. My wife and I, along with over 1000 others were forced to wait in line over 90 minutes just to check in. Management was very rude and unapologetic basically saying it was their busiest weekend and they're one of the 3 biggest hotels in the country. The hotel is comparable to most of the other casino hotels. It was very busy when we checked in after midnight and it seemed the front desk wanted to compensate us for our wait. They gave us a credit towards food and beverage and upgraded us to a Jr Suite. We were extremely happy about this upgrade until we realized the "upgrade" was in the oldest tower […] in the hotel which is not what we booked. I have been to the hotel many times before and knew to ask for the newly renovated Waterfront Tower. Instead of telling us there were no more rooms left in the tower we booked,they tricked us with this so called upgrade which really was not great and certainly not as nice as a newer room. After realizing that we were not in the room we had booked and paid for we went back to the front desk and they told us there was nothing they could do and to try calling in the morning. We were only there for two nights so we didn't bother calling the next day but it would have been nice if the hotel explained the situation to us rather than tricking us with a fake upgrade. Were not stupid!!!!!! In addition we booked a late reservation through open table for McCormick and Schmidts steakhouse at the hotel. Although a 11pm reservation was available they treated us as if we called and begged them to let us in. They ran out of many options on the menu, called us ahead of time and told us if we weren't there by 11pm exactly they were shutting the doors. "Decent Hotel Experience"
We had never stayed in a casino resort in Atlantic City and we had high expectations for our stay. We had more disappointments than delights during our stay. Some of our disappointment included: smoking is permitted in the casino; we had to pay for parking; the pool was not freely accessible; the walking paths around the hotel were in a state of semi-disrepair. […] When we returned to our room later the second day, there was a wadded up towel on one of our beds and on one of the chairs. This was confusing as we didn't know if someone had broken into our room. I guess the maid forgot to place the towels in her cart. The first night, there was a party next door that was extremely loud and were finally kicked out around 2AM. The hotel was teeming with people and if felt more like an amusement park in the lobby/casino area. Also, because of the hustle and bustle, the staff were not particularly friendly or caring. My overall impression is that money is not being reinvested in the hotel.This hotel is not conveniently located. The Atlantic City board walk is probably 15 minutes away, and there is no convenient beach nearby. I would recommend that those who wish to gamble consider this hotel if there are promotional discounts. If your intention is to use this hotel as a base to do other activities in Atlantic City and the surrounding Jersey shore, I would recommend seeking other options. "Best Yet in AC - Still needs improvement"
My wife and I have stayed in a few hotels in AC for business travel. Harrah's is now on the top of our list. The room was spotless and up to date. However, the hall and elevator landing carpets looked as if they had not been cleaned or vacuumed for at least a week. Filthy! Also, all of the Elevevator thresholds were awful...very dirty and not cleaned […] for at least a few weeks. "Two day get away"
I visited Harrah's with my daughters 19 & 26 for a two day get away. The hotel is very nice and well kept, the facilities and amenities are great too. The Casino is lively and there's something for everyone. When we got in we were given a room in a non smoking section that reeked of smoke. After being on hold on the phone, waiting for the front desk […] for 15 minutes we got a new room. The pool was a disappointment, you must be 21 to enter anytime. I can see the need for that during evening swims, but all day? Every casual dinning restaurant was awfull, we went to Sammy's for breakfast and everything from the French toast to the cake, was stale, cold and over priced. Your best bet if you decided to stay here, is to book a premium room in the Waterfront tower and to dine in the fine dining restaurants like Martorano's and McCormics. We enjoyed our getaway tremendously. The front desk clerk upgraded our king room to a Suite! How wonderful and special. We were able to entertain and stay private at the same time. "Not as nice as I had heard"
Ended up standing in a check in line that took 45 minutes at 6PM (The line was wrapped around the lobby 2x from 3PM until 6. THey could only give us a smoking room, after requesting non smoking.
