I was disappointed upon entering […] the room that it was just like any other basic room ive been in, nothing luxury. the artwork was creepy. there was a painting that had the words "African burial ground" written. then when I was about to get in bed I noticed a small bug on the sheet! also the toilet was black which was odd. and every time I used the sink water would drip down onto my pants and shoes. we did have a great view from the room. and I like the public areas downstairs, the casino and nightclub were both beautiful. Arrived around 4:00pm on Sunday after a 1-hour wait on the valet line. Room wasn't ready until 12:17am on Monday. Paid for a room in the Water Front Tower ($$$), but was given a room in the Marina Tower ($). "Watch your hotel bill if you prepay!"
I booked and prepaid for my stay with Hotels.com. When I arrived at the hotel and checked in I was given the king room in the Marina Tower that I booked. The room, however, was very dark and the furniture was worn. One of the drawers was broken, the furniture was chipped, and the couch was stained, as other reviewers have pointed out. The bed was uncomfortable. […] The room and bathroom were clean. Most restaurants were closed Monday-Tuesday. The buffet was open and I ate there but it was not worth the cost. When time came to review the hotel charges, I noticed that I was being double charged for the room that I had prepaid. It took four phone calls: two calls to the front desk (very unhelpful) and two calls to hotels.com to get this issue resolved. In all the time that I have been booking hotels online, I have never had a problem with charges. Harrahs is different. Also, they have eliminated the complimentary shuttle to Caesars and Bally's but they charge you if you want to park your car at their other properties. So you can't go for a stroll on the boardwalk and stop at a few places, but with the state of Atlantic City right now that might actually be a good thing.
