The Convent Hotel is located on one of the main streets in Amsterdam and within easy walking distance to the Centraal Train station and Dam Square-so public transportation is a snap. The hotel is well kept and the staff is very friently. The one complaint about the staff is that they do not seem very knowledgeable about typical tourist activities in Amsterdam and we didn't find a concierge staff member to help with some of our questions. Our booking through hotels.com did not include the breakfast, which looked wonderful and was expensive, so we found a lovely little care within a block or two from the hotel for our breakfasts. Lots of tours seem to use the hotel, so the staff is very comfortable speaking in English with everyone.The entrance to the hotel faces the very busy street, but the rooms are all in the back of the hotel and are very quiet. We enjoyed our stay. I would suggest trying to get the breakfast included in the hotel price.

The hotel was clean, nice, the staff friendly and helpful, especially the Concierge. The location was great, within walking distance of many restaurants, and things to see in Amsterdam.

The room was very small and a bit tight for friends. It would be nice for a couple. But the room had a cozy private terrace. And the staff was wonderful! The two desk personnel we encountered were helpful, went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed for a great visit and made a point of having what we needed before we knew we needed it. The hotel was clean, the food just right and always a fresh cup of coffee waiting for us. I would return without thinking twice.
Location.
This Schiphol property is attached to Schiphol Airport by a covered walkway. Vondelpark and Rijksmuseum are within 10.5 kilometers.

"No internet"
I had to pay a very high price for interenet that I used for only one hour (because of the bad connection). This was not included in the room, which I think is very strange for a hotel in western Europe that is by the airport.
"Not "convenient to the airport""
I booked this hotel because I was under the impression that it was attached to the airport. Well, it's really not. After one walks past the Sheraton, one has to take a lift to street level and cross a parking lot. It's not a massive sacrifice, but it's not really attached, either. And 27 euros for 24 hours Internet access? Come ON. Everywhere else […] in The Netherlands, I was able to access it free. Need a room at the airport, stay at the Sheraton. "Airport hotel"
We had 1 night stay due to 20 hrs layover. That was the only disappointment we had, wish we had more time. Restaurant is very nice as well. Very conveniently located. We could take a train and go to the center. I recommend this hotel very highly.

"Walk to the airport"
This was so convenient, it was literally a 5 minute walk to the airport. (I think they had a shuttle too, but when facing a 14 hour plane ride.. walking works) The airport also has a food court, clothing stores and grocery store, so you can walk over for food and shopping as well. "Ideal for transit passengers"
Perfect for passengers in transit, or business travelers. I wouldn't recommend for those wanting tourist amenities or city center convenience. Meals and bar beverages expensive. Good business center. Helpful professional staff. Convenient and fast airport shuttle service.
"Proximity was good, venue was terrible."
Expensive room that was in disrepair. Carpet was filthy, air conditioner didn't work, fridge was broken. What a nightmare for the price paid.

Great airport pickup shuttle service. Very easy to get to downtown and the staff was very helpful getting us older ladies to understand how to get around. Would like to return and spend more time in Amsterdam and would stay at the hotel again.

Hotel personnel were very friendly. Hotel is a bit old but well maintained. The food in the restaurant was excellent, the service from waiters was great, though it took a bit long to get our food.

"Airport Hilton at the airport - 7 minute walk"
The Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is near the airport, but it is a seven minute walk away. I walked (with my bag) to the hotel. Good to know if you have an early flight. There is a Hilton airport shuttle bus. The desk clerk was not exactly sure when it left. I was lucky for my AM flight, since the shuttle was there at 7:00 AM. Another passenger […] and I rode to the airport which saved time and kept the light rain off of us. My room was small, but nice. Great interactive TV system. Easy to view different channels at once. "Layover to Barcelona"
Beautiful hotel. Courteous staff. Not walking distance from the airport as advertised but the shuttle starts at 5am and was exactly on time. Far from all of the sites but only a shuttle bus and train ride away. I will definitely stay again

"Pleasant"
I was greeted with the biggest smile I have seen in a long time. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to answer any questions. I had questions about a good dutch restaurant and they helped me choose a good location and even booked a reservation for me. The room was VERY spacious and had a GREAT TV. This Hilton had very poor service. They don't even answer the phone when you call to the front desk (you will end up calling many times before getting someone). They also canceled my room service order mistakenly and I had to call and reorder. By that time they had stopped making french fried (to my dismay). "Hilton Schipol Convenience"
Great location next to Schiphol airport, so if you have a long layover or a flight the next day its perfect. Not great for downtown Amsterdam, but easy access via train.

We stayed for one night befor a flight back to the US. Be aware that you do need to walk across the parking lot to an elevator inorder to walk into the terminal with your luggage (cards are provided next to the entrance to the hotel). "Everything was broken!"
My luggage didnt arrive so I decided to stay in and have room service and hand wash my laundry. Once the laundry was wet, i went looking for the room service menu- couldnt find it... I thought maybe I could find it online- no cable.. decided to call the front desk- the phone didnt work. I had to go to the lobby and tell them of the problems. They immediatetly […] moved me but then my room key didn't work.. the internet cable was broken.. just a disaster. My new room said 'Executive Suite" outside of the door so I called to see if I had access to the executive lounge. They said no because I only had the upgrade. ????? Read more
"Great service, but room a tad small"
Sure, it's a shuttle ride (or a substantial walk through the skyway), but the hotel is convenient and priced right. The shuttle driver/bellhop was extremely helpful - even got out to help me buy train tickets into Amsterdam. Breakfast was very good. The room was wedge-shaped because it was on an interior corner of a wing and was a little small as a […] result, but fine for overnighting. "Air conditioning problem, etc."
Air conditioning in room would not lower temp any lower than 22 degrees C, and when asked about it the hotel brought a fan to our room and supposedly sent maintenance to look at it. When we returned to the room again the A/C still was not functioning properly. Sink in bathroom had rust stains, and no shampoo left in bathroom. Hotel definitely should […] not rate four stars. Breakfast buffet was outstanding though. We have stayed at Sofitel in D.C. which is a four star hotel, and it is a good example of what a four star facility should be. "Good hotel, but not really AT the airport"
My only complaint is that the hotel advertising being "in" in the airport. Not true. It's far enough away that the hotel provides shuttle service to the airport. So, if you're thinking it's worth it to spend the extra money to stay "at" the airport and avoid a shuttle, forget it.

Just 10 minutes walk (indoor) from the airport arrival area to the hotel. Hotel also provides regular shuttle bus service to/from Schipol. Good breakfast.

"Great hotel"
This was a very nice hotel. The bed was very comfortable. The room was nicely decorated. The restaurant is expensive. Just walk to the airport terminal and get a sandwich in one of the restaurants for a lot less. Or take the train to town. It's only 3.40 euros and it comes regularly.
"Good for overnight layover"
We stayed overnight on an overnight layover at Schipol airport. The hotel is very convienient, about a 10 min. walk from the terminal. The room was nice, clean, but small by US standards. The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was also good.

"Rip off"
Watch out or you'll get ripped off. First of all the mini bar was not stocked and they tryed to charge me for items that were missing. Second, the room service menu has several items that say they are available 24/7 but when you go to order, they are not available due to the hour. My plane didnt' come in until 11:30 at night and I had to leave at 7am, […] it was not worth the money. They have a pending charge of $140 on my mc and it better not post because there is no transaction for that amount. Be careful with this one. Read more

Looking a bit worn and we thought the walking distance to the airport would have been shorter and completely covered from lobby to airport but there is an outside portion to traverse. However, the shuttle was very convenient with luggage. And the breakfast was very very good. Room was very clean and roomy.

"Small room and bed"
I had booked a King Hilton Guestroom. Unfortunately that is not what we got. The bed and room was one of the tiniest ever - certainly not even queen - at best it was a small double bed. Charging 27 euro for 24 hours of Internet access was also way too much for us to pay. We went to the Sheraton next door where we could get 30 mins of free internet […] access if you spent 5 euro in the bar. Biggest plus for the room is that one could walk there without getting wet or having to take a shuttle. Read more
