My family and I checked in and out of this hotel within 15 minutes. The area the hotel is located is a bad part of town. The room smelled like something had died in there and the door to the room did not completly shut. We were frightened to stay in this hotel.

HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND SERVICE WAS AWESOME. ONLY DOWNFALL IS GOT NON-SMOKING ROOM BUT MUST HAVE BEEN SMOKING ROOM BEFORE CUZ CAN STILL SMELL IT BAD. NOT GOOD FOR ME AND KIDS. HOTEL WAS CLOSE TO ZOO AND SHOPPING PLACES THOUGH.

While the hotel staff were friendly, I could barely sleep all night. The hotel smelt funny, the tub wouldn't drain so you stand in a foot of water while showering. Thank goodness we arrived at 10pm and left at 6am. Luckily the gentleman that checked us in, Anthony, was very kind.

After reading the reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. The only reason I did not give it a perfect 5 stars is that the grounds were not well kept. The fact that this motel is off the I-25 is great. Also there are so many restaurants nearby on the other side of the highway, as well as a huge shopping center […] (turn at the Walgreens). What a surprise to find a super clean room and pleasant staff, courtesy newspaper and free toothpaste, and a nice Continental breakfast. Great price. Recently painted. Nice toursit magazine and room service menu to local service in the room. Manager let me use her camp chair to sit outside and enjoy the mountain view with breakfast on the edge of the […] parking lot, which is swept every morning. No kidding. Note the location is not safe for walking, but the Yellow cabs were wonderful, with quick trips to Garden of the Gods and sightseeing information nicely provided. For the price, SUPERB. Read more

I arrived late 12:30 am check in and there was no one at the counter. I waited outside (doors were locked) for 30 minutes. No one answered the phone. I was shocked about the location and was very worried about staying there. The hotel was extremely difficult to get to everytime we left the room. The room was way better than the outside of the hotel looked like it would be. Clean and basic and for the price I paid, it was fine. Breakfast doesn't come out until 7 am, so I can't speak to that, but I was fine with the accommodations.

Very attentive staff. The only problem was dead batteries in the TV remote, which they fixed. We even stayed another night because we didn't have enough time to see all Colorado Springs and environs had to offer.

Hotel is run down. Not cleaned good, never changed sheets at all in which there was stained blood on sheets. Kitchen was nasty with rust in vent.

We have stayed at Howard Johnson hotels in other areas and have never had such poor quality. The hotel is very old, the sink was falling off of the wall, the door was not very secure, the breakfast bar terrible!!!! We reserved through hotels.com and found that we could have gotten $20 cheaper rates with AARP.

The hotel served its purpose, was not expecting much for what I paid for the room. Although I was disappointed that some items advertised were not available in my room, such as a fridge and microwave. I stayed at this hotel trying to save a few bucks while on vacation with a friend. The hotel is right off the interstate, easy to find. It's in a neighborhood that appears unsafe and rundown. Very poor. Tried to give me a smoking room and blamed Expedia for the mix up until I showed them the reservation for non-smoking. Finally gave me a downgraded "non-smoking" room that smelled of smoke and still had a ash trey in it. The downgraded room had no fridge for the baby's milk and the ice machine was empty. Our shoes stuck to the carpet in our rooms. The water was scalding hot and the faucets were not synchronized which made it super easy to burn yourself silly in the shower. We arrived later in the evening and the desk clerk was efficient but not overly friendly. Upon checking in to our room, the smell of must was unpleasant and reminded me of kitty litter. Since we had traveled long distances and endured mountain snow, all we wanted was sleep.
