Breakfast was very good but train tracks were right outside our window and kept us awake for both nights that we stayed there. Could not use security lock on door. Did not line up. Shower was very small, bathroom was behind door, and no counter or shelves so every thing was a pain in this room. Weekend get a way was not what we had hoped for.

Very clean room, excellent courteous staff, close to all conveniences, good hearty breakfast included with room, we would definitely book again.

This hotel is fine, except for the fact that the bathroom made us not want to use it. Usually a hotel has immaculate bathrooms, but the hair on the shower walls was quite the turn off.

This is the best place to stay in the Banff / Lake Louise area. You are not far from the park, you get a park pass, the rooms and breakfast are great.

We were only there for a few short hours - just to sleep and be on our way. We arrived after dark and left in the early AM while still dark. Convenient location - not far off the #1. Quick check in, clean room, and a breakfast (included) with assorted variety of foods - both hot and cold.

I thought that this was hotel was great (free wi-fi, clean rooms, great breakfast, nice people working in lobby, great location, inexpensive hotel for the area), except for a few things: noise of the frequent trains behind the hotel and strange parking set-up. I would go to this Ramada Inn again. Great value.

I just come here to watch the trains go by from my room ,thats what I like the most about this Hotel

good location to a small town that has really developed. the train tracks are a little busy and load, but this hotel does a great job and has a slide for a pool.

If you are looking for a motel that doesn't have the Banff prices but is definitely full service, I would recommend the Ramada in Canmore, about a 10 minute drive south of Banff. The best part was the complimentary breakfast. Make sure you ask for a room on the road side rather than on the train side. We did & were never disturbed by the train going […] thru nor the traffic, which is minimal. We really liked the town of Canmore, too. There is a wonderful walkable downtown area with lots of cute shops. There is a Safeway near the motel as well which is convenient. The hotel room is too small - especially the bathroom. The hotel is right next to the railroad track and we got disturbed by the train at night. The breakfast is good. There is a water slide that kids will enjoy very much.

Stayed here for 1 night with a friend. Upon arrival, we were checking in and listened to one of the Front Desk agents and a manager or supervisor (wearing a suit) discuss how an old ‘fired’ staff member must have put their printer together – a little unprofessional but whatever. We got our keys and went to check in, and they didn’t work. We both work […] in hotels and know how finicky the machines to create the keys can be, so we walked back down and told her. She then ‘checked’ them and simply said “They should be. I can give you new ones but these ones are fine.” Okay – rude. The next morning the roof started leaking beside the bed. We were checking out, but still wanted to call and let them know so they could stop it or fix it before it became much more of a problem. Rather than this happening, the guy came up, and said ‘that’s never happened before’. and put towels down and left. It was really quite strange to be honest, but obviously they have had this issue or I am sure it would have been more of a problem, and you wouldn’t have been able to see where they re-plastered it already. This hotel is located in a very nice location. However, I ended up paying for a north side room with view of the mountain, and I ended up with a rail side room with trains going back right into the night (I mean 2am!). Even with windows closed, it was DO NOT get a room on the rail side! Even though I had mentioned that to the front desk, they did unfortunately […] not budge because it did not show on their end. The staff was very nice though. The room I was in was very small and left very little space to move around. It gives new meaning to no frills accommodation. The bathroom was tiny with very small shower. The beds are comfortable. The best part of the stay was the breakfast,, which was REALLY good. I think the staff could be a bit more friendly, but other than that, the buffet was worth it. Superior to many other hotels. I was impressed! This is a good option if you want to be nearby Banff, Alberta, and it is quite a bit cheaper. However, but paying an additional $20, you can find a larger room right in town without the hassle of tiny spaces. Though the hotel overall was decent, the freight train made for an unpleasant stay. Where to begin? The room stunk - found out there were rotting apples under the bed. We all got pink eye the next day after getting in the pool (which was green) and hot tub. The waterslide structure was so rusted we thought it would come down on us. The room was extremely hot and we were unable to turn the heat down so had to open a window - we then […] froze that night. The train backs right on to the property (about 50 metres from the windows of the rooms) and goes by every two or so hours. When I complained at the desk they said well you paid already so we can't do anything about a credit. We got about 2 hours of sleep that night. They failed to tell us that there was NO bathtub in the room - just a shower - I was travelling with two small children one of which doesn't shower.....all in all a harrowing ordeal. Read more

The hotel was nice but the rooms were dated. Hotel staff was friendly.

The continental breakfast included a wide variety of fresh home-made food which was more like a brunch. The hot tub and the 3-stories waterslide were great to help wind up for a day of skiing. Nice hotel, with clean rooms. Fridge and microwave are a plus, as is the generous breakfast included ("continental", but also with eggs and sausages, I think they call it "hot continental"). I stayed at this hotel for one night. The room is clean. There is a nice water slide. Also there is complimentary coffee station and nice complimentary breakfast. However, I do find the hot tube a bit too hot. Not suitable for kids. There are parking spots but the parking spot's width is a bit too narrow for van.

The hotel was extremely clean and the staff wise friendly and informatvie. Location was perfect. The view of the mountains on the bavk side was unbelievable. I would stay there each and every time I visit Canmore. I have recommended it to people travelling in the area and they also really enjoyed their stay.

Excellent breakfast, clean, great swimming pool with slide. Microwave was also a great advantage of this hotel. I would stay again in the future.

The hotel was clean, the complimentary breakfast was good, with a decent selection of hot and cold items. The hotel also sold lift-tickets for the three banff area ski resorts.

I've stayed here twice in the past few months and have not been disappointed. Large rooms, kitchen, water slide and nice buffet breakfast included.

We were surprised to see how nice this hotel is. I guess it has been renovated, because everything is new and of good quality. Rooms are small, but ok. Continental breakfast was good. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Stayed overnight on a trip from Alberta to BC. Hotel was a Ramada (brand sets some expectations) and was the least expensive of the hotels we checked. Hotel could be much better than it is. Nice pool area, nice breakfast area. Maintenance and cleaning seems to be just adequate. A typical ski type hotel that looks like it has had rough use.

Very nice Hotel. Excellent house keeping. Rooms were maintained very well. Breakfast provided was Excellent. Swimming Pool and Hot Tub were really enjoyable place for children. Gym was also good. The Hotel do provide Car Pass for entering into Bannf. With this, it works out to be cheaper to stay in this Canmore Hotel instead of staying in Bannf. We […] stayed in a room on Railway line side as it has Queen size beds instead of double beds on Road side rooms. If the Windows are shut properly, train running noise reduces considerably to a level it did not disturb our sleep. House keeping staff were courteous. Reception staffs need to smile more. Staff were friendly, over all a great weekend. I would recommend to others as the hotel was very clean comfortable, including a nice breakfast at no cost. I will re-book again next year.
