I arrived late for check-in about 11:30 PM, and the night attendee wasn't even in the lobby until 10 minutes after I arrived, and he lied about needing a cup of coffee across the street (he didn't return with any coffee). We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel given the price. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to Byward Market and Parliament though there were restaurants, bars and stores closer to the hotel. The front desk staff was great, very accommodating and helpful. The one bad thing about the hotel was the continental breakfast. It was definitely the WORST continental breakfast I have ever seen. There were 2 kinds of plain cereal, some stale pastries and breads, and some dry oranges. One of the milk jugs they had out had definitely gone bad. When another patron told the woman managing the breakfast she obviously did not speak English or French and she dumped out and replaced the wrong milk, leaving the rancid one. With the hotel being so cheap I would suggest staying here but going somewhere else for breakfast, like the Tim Horton's directly across the street. Read more

Hotel rooms very small for 2 double beds, Room either way to hot or way too cold. Room lock was broken so had to change rooms with 3 kids. Continential breakfast was simple and not filling for breakfast. Way too many sweet items for the kids.

I found the hotel comfortable and secure, but the room was a little stuffy. Breakfast was simple but good and staff were willing to refill anything (milk, coffee) that were gone by 8:00 a.m. The staff was helpful regarding taxis and somewhat helpful with directions for finding places of interest in Ottawa.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We got there after midnight and were actually afraid to go to our rooms because it looked so obsucre and the parking lot smelled like weed. Our room was dirty and we had no hot water. The sheets felt clammy and there were leaves on the ground (mid summer?). The next morning we asked for new toilet paper and got an upgrade. […] The next room (in the same building as the lobby) was completely different (in a good way). We had our own balcony and the bed was huge (and clean), and we also had a bath. The location of the hotel is very good and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would suggest one small refrigerator and a small micro wave to be added to each room that absorb more travellers to the hotel. Generally I was pleased with the breakfast except thers was on juices availabe. The check out time was very accepable.
