"Perfection in Old Montreal"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.

Room was good - a great value for the price! Just a few minor complaints - TV remote didn't work; a little noisy late at night (Saturday night; we were next to the elevator). Beds: very comfortable. Pillows, not so much (overly firm). Bathroom small but clean, bath/shower good, water pressure and temperature fine. Nice pool, adequate gym. Convenient in/out parking, reduced price with hotel validation. Front desk staff: helpful and polite.

The hotel is very nice, clean and overall awesome. Its located right in the center of everything. The metro can be taken right underneath the hotel which is very convenient. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

"Impressive in all respects."
Located right across from the train station. The staff are very professional and friendly. Unusual layout as the inside rooms surround a private rooftop garden, although there are no views of the city they are incredibly private and quiet and I highly recommend them. All staff comport themselves as if it were a five star property, they cannot do enough […] for you and treat you as an impotrtant guest, nothing is a problem or issue exceppt that your stay is as comfortable as possible. I loved my stay and tried to change my plans and stay longer just for this hotel. I will always stay here regardless of price. An amazing property and experience. Read more
"Interesting Hotel"
Since we first stayed at the Bonaventure over 40 years ago when it was new, we are familar with it. The hotel occupies the top 2-3 floors of an office tower. it has a large central pool and beautiful surrounding landscaping (don'y miss a walk around). The rooms are standard Hilton and a bit aged. The staff is also standard Hilton - good, but not great. […] If you have to be in downtown Montreal, it is worth considering, particularly when you can take advantage of the outdoor pool. Read more

"Great location and hotel"
Had a very pleasant stay at the Hilton Bonaventura Hotel Montreal. Our 17 members of our family enjoyed the hotel and especially the location to the Old City... ED
The Hotel was centrally located to so many places. Great place to stay!
"Lounge staff exceptional"
We don't normally spend much time in hotel lounges, but we found ourselves in this lounge a few times and the staff was fun and especially attentive.

"Hilton Bonaventure Montreal"
The location of the hotel was great--right in downtown Montreal and close to the train station. I thought it was a little out-dated considering it was a Hilton hotel and I somehow expected more because of the hotel brand. The parking situation was not the best. As it was downtown, I did expect to pay for parking. They did have a self-park option, which […] was great since my husband is very particular about his brand new car. However, you had to pay the fee everytime you left the garage! Other hotels in the area have in-out options for their self-park garages. I would probably not stay at this hotel again when visiting Montreal. Read more
"Great place to stay in Montreal"
very pleasantly greeted at the reception desk and checked in with no problem. It was a good way to start to wind down after a day of travel to Montreal. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Everything was great. Hotel is at close distance from both downtown and old Montreal. The labor day weekend was very windy and cold, so we took the car and drove instead of walking around, but I bet it would be very nice to walk in warm weather since it's very close to everywhere you need to be. Hotel seems to be very clean though seem to be a bit old […] to me. Read more

"Hotel Bonaventure Montreal"
Arrived in Montreal after a long VERY hot stay in New York city, hoping to be able to really relax and slow the pace down. The Bonaventure made it easy. From start to finish, every single one of the staff were friendly and helpful. The garden areas were beautiful. The pool area is great, loved relaxing in tree shade on top of a roof! This was honestly […] the best hotel experience me or my girlfriend have ever had. This trip( we stayed at 5 total) or any other. Location is great as well, do not hesitate to stay here. Read more
exceptionally helpful and courteous staff, very good location between the heart of downtown and old town
The Hotel is AMAZING! Centrally Located, Clean, UPDATED (I don't know what those other reviewers were referring to?) and the Pool is amazing! I would, no WILL stay here every time I return to Montreal. The staff was extremely courteous, The conceirge, Long, was extreme helpful when we needed to revise our dinner plans for 9 last minute. "Awesome location"
I choose this Hotel because it was close to the Bell Center. It also seemed close to Old Montreal, Downtown and Chinatown. Everything was within walking distance! I felt like we were centrally located to all the great tourist spots in Montreal. The hotel's beautiful gardens and outdoor swimming pool also was a huge plus to me. It was hard to remember […] that we were 17 floors up. The Restuarant at the hotel served wonderful food. We did room service, the bar and the restaurant and never had a bad meal! I'm looking forward to returning to the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure in December for some hockey! Read more
"Great place to stay!"
Everything was awesome. Great for the price we paid. Excellent conceirge service. Big, clean room. Good water pressure in the shower, adjustable head. Comfy bed. Extensive TV selection. Wonderful pool. Great room service breakfast. Close to attractions and transportation. Our only "complaint" was that the bathroom door seemed either crooked or a little […] bigger than the frame -- it was pretty tough to close it all the way and then get it back open....took a little slamming to get it done. But other than that, this is a great place to stay. Read more
"friendly staff"
everything is nice and wonderful except the floor layout and the main entrance was'nt grand.
"Outstanding Hotel"
From check in to check out, our experience with the hotel was great. The hotel is the last 2 floors of a building so it is very quiet and very nice. The service was very good and always with a smile. Great job! Thank you!
"Very nice hotel"

"Good place to stay"
Hotel convenient to transportation and to areas of interest. Room was clean and comfortable although it was small. There was parking in a lot under the hotel. However this was a municipal lot. Parking was not free. Valet parking waqs avilable but was even more costly.
the bathtub was clogged
The Hilton Bonaventure was a great hotel for location. However, there was no real coffee shop for breakfast in the morning. Not everyone wishes a buffet in the morning. The floor reading lamp was not functioning in the bedroom.

Had a great time in the pool....really neat in cool weather! Hotel is connected to almost everything in downtown! Great in the winter if it's cold. There was little need to go outside

"Hilton Montreal Bonaventure"
Staff are very friendly and rooms are very clean. My French is poor but their english is great. If you are concearned about language, there is no problem here. I never once felt as though I could not speak with anyone. Beds are super comfy!!!! Located in the heart of Montreal and connected to the underground walkway that leads you to Central Station, […] shopping and restaurants. The executive rate gives you access to Club Bonaventure which in my mind is well worth the extra money. Great spot, will stay again. Read more

"My stay at the Hilton Bonaventure"
We recently stayed at the Hilton Bonaventure. Hotel is conveniently located near a lot of attractions. We attended a Mtl Canadians hocky game and were able to walk to the Bell Center. Plan to visit again no negative comments about this Hotel
"All-inclusive Centreville Hotel"
My girl friend and I have visited this hotel twice and both times we've been satisfied with this hotel and it's proximity to all of downtown Montreal. The all-season swimming pool is especially romantic under a starry sky with snowflakes falling do […] wn. Read more
"Great location but dated"
Easy to get to; great location for shopping and the Bell Centre; a little dated; slow cleanup of room service (I didn't have room service, but noticed room service trays outside of rooms for over 12 hours before they got cleaned up); friendly staff, nice lounge for a drink; pool was clean however not easy to access when a lot of people are using it; […] no ramps to upper level rooms which made it tricky with luggage; no carts for moving luggage from parking which is separate from the hotel.
