I have not stayed at a Hilton Hotel for a long time, but after this week, staying in two separate Hiltons in different cities (Hartford, CT and Portland, ME), I will never stay anywhere else. The beds were so comfortable, free fresh coffee in the lobby, even the in-room coffee was delicious with little packets of Coffeemate, quality shampoo, conditioner […] and lotion, air conditioner and heat ran quietly, and the rooms were clean and bright. This was probaly one of the worst hotels I`ve been in. The manager was rude and condescending. The room wad dirty (dusty lamp shades, must smell upon arrival) we never got our room cleaned or new linens due to a late check in. From now on its Marriot all the way.

The room was fine, the food a little above average, the staff friendly enough. Downtown Hartford itself is empty and depressing -- not the Hilton's fault, but it does throw you onto their resources when you can't find an open coffee shop on the weekend.

The Hilton Hartford is in a good location- close to Union Station, X-Cel Center and the cultural center. It isn't too far from the convention center and the star shuttle service that takes you around the downton is free during the week. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Came to Hartford for a concert at the XL Center and this was the perfect place to stay. Literally don't have to leave the hotel to get to the center, skywalk connects the two. Hotel restaurant was good for dinner and breakfast but plenty of other options nearby. Hotel bar was nice too. Staff friendly and helpful.

The stay was so-so. Unfortunately for us they were celebrating St. Patrick's Day. People (young adults) were running through the halls ( we were on the 7th floor) screaming and yelling up to 11 PM. I have to first say, that Michael at the front desk was so gracious and kind. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The other desk clerk, whose name I didn't get was rude and unfriendly. My wife and I were going to a concert at the XL center for our fifth year wedding anniversary. So, I booked a stay at the Hilton Hartford over a month prior to my arrival. I booked a non refundable room with a King size bed through Expedia. We arrived at the Hilton Hartford at 6:00 pm and were told there are no more rooms with king size beds. I was […] very disappointed and told the clerk this was our wedding anniversary. He said the double beds are very "roomy". I asked if there were any suites available #I would've paid extra#. He said they were sold out and then he offered to charge $10 versus their normal $18 for parking. Since the concert started at 7:30, we decided to just stay in the room with double beds. I had the worst sleep I've had in a long time. We have a king size bed at home so we're used to the larger bed. The room was a typical room of a average hotel #definitely not what I would expect from a hilton#. The room had coffee stains on the wall. I've never stayed at a hilton before but I'd be hesitant to stay at one again. Upon checkout, I expressed how I was disappointed with my stay, the lady at the front desk just kept insisting to give them another chance and come back next year for our anniversary. Not what we were expecting from a Hilton. It seemed a little run down. The hallway from garage to hotel was kind of trashed. Staff were very nice but clean up in halls and elevators not so hot. Convenient relief from the power outage time in cold rooms in NJ. A bit outdated and a bit noisy as close to the interstate (depends on the room you get). You can get all downtown attraction easily in walking distance.

We phoned in advance to make sure they had room service, but upon arrival found out that room service was suspended between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Not good. And the food was below Hilton standards, so only passable, not great. The staff were very nice and accommodating, however, which helped.

Took awhile for the parking attendant to get to me, was having quite the extended conversation with the car in front. Finally got parked and checked in, lovely room and overall, a nice place. Not too likely to stay here again, as the location was inconvienent to the event I was attending.

Enjoyed my stay at this Hilton. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and modern. My only complaint is that I hate paying for a room and still paying to park, but other than that, it was a nice time.
