"A Resort for all!"
The Hilton at Torrey Pines is an exceptional resort. Everything was excellent overall! They are in the process of updating rooms which I would go back just to check it out! If you like to golf, it's a perfect location. You can walk right out on the 18th fairway of the North course. Stunning views of the course and the ocean! The sunset capped off each […] day perfectly! Also, walking, jogging, biking, hiking and just enjoying the outdoors and Oceanside views were a path away from the resort. Torrey Pines State Preserve was outside our door. Perfect for couples and families. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Baaad hotel"
Stay away from Hilton I do not like it The room was not good I would give it two stars Baad hotelGenuine Expedia guest review
"Unpleasant noise of the laundry room above my room"
was normal. the price of the water bottle in the room is rediculous and outrageously high. it a rip off. $3.50 plus tax. no water for coffee so you have to pay for the 16 oz water to make your coffee.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great hotel, good location and excellent service!"
we spent four nights at the hotel. room service, hotel location and service were all great. hotel management and staff were very accommodating as well. if i had to nitpick, i'd say they should probably not charge extra for parking (given that it's not in downtown or a congested area) and consider free wifi.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"too high"
A Great Hotel with spectacular views, but the expenses that are not included is way to much. $22 a day parking, $16 a day for wifi, $24 for a two egg breackfast, etc.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Money grubbing"
This hotel is a joke. They charge you $22 a night for parking (!), YES, YOU THE HOTEL GUEST has to pay for parking. Also they charge you for wi-fi. Everywhere you look it's just price tags. They put water in the room and label it with $3.50 for a tiny bottle. Is this what you provide your guests with, billion dollar Hilton hotel? No breakfast or anything […] for free is offered. Not even a fridge in the room to store food. Overall, save your money and go to a hotel where you can actually talk to a real staff and real people, not these money grubbing fake talking non-personalities. It is really just a bunch of rich soulless people walking around there trying to act and look rich. A company as big and fancy this one tries to rob you of every cent you have. Ridiculous. Just so you know: Right before that I stayed at the Best Western Tree House in Mt. Shasta for ten days. It offered free parking, free breakfast (with an awesome selection!), fridge in the room and was simply warm and nice, unlike this hotel. Go somewhere else please! You won't find happiness at a cold place like this. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"big and fancy"
This hotel is nice. It's very large. Beds are comfy, good products (toiletries). My husband enjoyed the golf course, said it's quite difficult and beautiful. We stayed at a discount on Christmas Day. Overall it was OK. The food at breakfast was ok. Some sort of alarm went off at 6:30am and woke everyone up, not the best. Each room does have a little […] balcony, we like that. Surrounding neighborhood is industrial, if you're coming here it's to stay here. The adjoining property, The Lodge, is absolutely fantastic. I recommend a walk over there, a drink or dinner. A rustic little place with a good restaurant. I never understood the spa situation, apparently there is one at Hilton and one at Lodge. I used the Lodge spa and found it very nice. The communication was unclear, I was told spa was free for hotel guests...but not until I got over to the Lodge (which I was directed to by a Hilton employee) did they sayt it is not free unless you are a Lodge guest). Hilton spa was perhaps closed xmas day. never unraveled that mystery. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"graduation/honeymoon"
Went to see my oldest son graduate Jefferson Law School. Brought my new girlfriend -- our first trip together. What a wonderful time we had. The view was spectacular, they left us alone in our room, and took great care of us in the restaurant, and even the gift shop.we'll definitely be back. Second son graduates UCSD in June...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just ok"
My wife and I have stayed here three times and this past visit was just ok. The views and location are amazing but the front desk service is spotty at best, sometimes rude and can act as though checking people in is somehow an inconvenience to them. I didn't notice it on prior stays but the rooms must be very poorly insulated. We could hear the bathrooms […] above and adjacent to our room all too clearly. I would expect better from a hotel like this. Next time we head to SD, I'm sure we will find a different place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Romantic setting but no access to the seashore"
Very cozy comfortable stay. No access to seashore because of the huge golf course. Beautiful yet very distant ocean views. No pedestrian access.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dog Heaven"
The hotel was great. Our dog loved it too as we had a ground floor room with a grassy knoll just outside our room.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was only 3 days after staying in a less than stellar place in Anaheim, that I flew to San Diego for business. What a contrast in places! Beautiful lobby, very attentive staff, great room that was clean, nice balcony, flat screen TV, linens were very clean and contemporary, and the bed was fabulous (wish I had that one). I wish I had been here for […] vacation instead of business. However, there's no refrigerator, just a sealed cabinet that had obviously been a place for the fridge at one point. Parking is overpriced. If I were giving separate ratings, I'd give the parking only 2 stars, not for the service but for the price. It's twenty two dollars for self-parking and twenty seven dollars for valet parking. I used the valet parking because I had equipment to transport and it was worth that extra five bucks not to deal with the parking. On another website, the management siad that the high parking price was because the parking was close and secure. Hmm. Isn't that what it's SUPPOSED to be? The location is very isolated (I think Bad Guys would need a GPS to find it), so I don't see safety being a big issue. I think the self-parking should only be ten or fifteen dollars and increase the valet parking. Room: FAB! Parking: Overpriced. Food: A little high, limited, but tasty. "Great secluded location"
I think this is a great property. Secluded and great views of the golf course and ocean. I was surprised by the $22 a night parking charge and not pleased. I'm paying enough and shouldn't have to pay for parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Friendly and upbeat service. Everyone said hello and offered to help. Hotel was kept in very good shape. The location is absolutely perfect, next to Torrey pines and minutes away from La Jolla and Del Mar. Would definitely come again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice place but parking lot is a disaster"
The hotel is beautiful and the staff are great. We enjoyed the restaurant and the pool. My main beef is the parking. The problem is not the cost ($22/day - luxury hotels always ding you for things like parking and internet). The problem is the parking lot entry and exit don't work. They combine pay parking for events with hotel guest parking. This means […] a gate controlling entrance and exit, with an automated ticket booth and also a card reader system for people that are guests at the hotel. There is NO attendant, and most people who were guests did have problems (I saw one guy throw his card at the machine in disgust). The card reader doesn't work well and so guests of the hotel had trouble getting in and especially getting out. Long lines would form inside the garage as some unwitting guest would be trying to get his card to open the gate, but it would not work. It's not just me - everyone was having trouble with this. You would finally have to get everyone in line to back up, so you could pull back into the parking area, and go into the hotel and get them to refresh your card. It always took 3-4 times to open, even with a fresh card. Terrible system, and it really affected the enjoyment of our stay since we were there 9 days and going in and out frequently. I cannot recommend staying there and will not stay there again myself. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The grounds were beautiful! The staff was very pleasant and nice. Dinner was lovely at the restaurant. Nice presentation, service and the food was good. I was very disappointed in the room, though. The room had a feel of a 3 star hotel. The decor was dated, the bed skirts were too long and hanging on the floor, but the one issue that bothered me the […] most was that the drain in the bathtub was clogged and I was standing in water while showering. Not what you'd expect. The refrigerator I asked for was in the room but not clean. The one thing I would have done different, since I am in the service industry, is that I would have had the supervisor or manager talk to the guest (me) upon checking out since I notified the young lady at check out of all the issues with the room and how disappointed I was. I understand that they will be renovating and I would give this hotel another try. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great experience"
I enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Torrey pines. I was disappointed with the decore of the interior of the hotel. I noticed many places where the wall paper was peeling and the furniture in the room looked weathered and worn out. The location was wonderful and the staff was kind and attentiveGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay but a little pushy"
This was a great getaway for me however, parking should have been free. It doesn't make sense to have to pay for self parking, so I just took the valet for 5 dollars more. I'm not a cheapskate, but since when does going to a hotel require paid parking? The valet guy was trying to pressure me into valet, so I just kinda gave inGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK Hilton but w/ Poor Service & Isolated Location"
The hotel is in a rather isolated area about 20 minutes from Downtown San Diego. The golf course and Pacific Ocean are very pretty; however, I would prefer to be closer to the city. The check-in was very poor; the receptionist claimed I only booked one room through Expedia, when indeed we had booked two. She then gave me a toll-free number to call. […] She showed no initiative and no hospitality. After that, things improved, and the rest of the stay was fine. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Anniversary Getaway"
We had stayed at the Hilton Torrey Pines before for a wedding but didn't get to relax like this weekend. Very friendly staff and comfortable accommodations. "shabby room & uncomfortable bed"
An oceanfront and allegedly high end accommodation hotel, this Hilton reflects the uneven modernization/rehab efforts of the chain. The public areas of the hotel are in exceptional condition, the view of the Pacific & the Torrey Pines Golf Course equally beautiful, but feeling as though you've spent the night being pummelled by fists when getting out […] of an obviously aged bed in the morning is the pits! Cannot recommend this hotel in terms of the "comfort" of the room. The absence of a mini-frig is an oversight, as well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"FUN IN TORREY PINES!"
MOST EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING, esp. considering the excellent rate we received (last minute). The ONLY TWO SMALL negative thing were at check in was very slow.... only one person working front desk, surprisingly, as it was 5pm when we arrived, and very busy. Too, hotel should consider putting locking screen doors on the lower room doors, to allow for […] fresh ocean breeze to cool the room, esp. at night! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good place next to Torrey Pines"
The staff were very friendly and competent. The public areas were nice. Room only had 1 chair and the bed - hard for 2 people to relax and read in room one had to be laying in the bed. Serving in the Military for 23 years and staying in hotels all around the world, I have never had room service. My wife suprised me and ordered room service for dinner.
