"Great deal for a top hotel"
Hotel room was clean, new and had great views. Friendly service, great spot and very restful. No issues.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not as good as it could be"
Perhaps because we're an Expedia customer, we were booked in the far back with a view of the staging area for the golf tourney--highlighted by storage for Portable Toilets. This despite the fact that the hotel was nearly empty. Computer froze up and I was asked to call a help desk that put me on hold for 10 minutes. When one is checking in for a flight […] and in a hurry, with personal information on view behind locked computer screen, it takes away from the joy. Hot tub is small and many guests wanted to use it on the evening we were there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very comfortable with an excellent environment."
Four nights at Hilton Torrey Pines and every night was restful and pleasant. Only one odd experience which was cleaning staff chatting it up while performing a room cleanup at midnight. Seems another time would be appropriate.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines"
I've stayed here before. I always enjoy staying at this hotel. Last time though my room at a better view. The appetizers are very good as well as the drinks.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel becoming outdated"
Very big hotel, but poor management makes the stay less enjoyableGenuine Expedia guest review

We've stayed at the La Jolla Hilton about 3 times and have always found it an excellent place to stay in San Diego. The hotel itself is quite nice with a lot of space, excellent restaurant, very good room service and the staff are all as friendly as they can be. It is a great bargain for the price compared to some other hotels. We were there over Christmas […] and everything was decorated and festive. We walked the trails into Torrey Pines out to the beach - well worth it. La Jolla Village is a few minutes away. We'll be back again, you can be sure. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely location for a pleasant hotel"
If what you are looking for is closeness to great running and magnificent views, this is the place. But if you want night life and good food that does not involve struggling with La Jolla traffic and parking, somewhere else might be preferable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Value near Torrey Pines Golf Course/Hiking"
One of the reasons it was a great deal is that the pool/jacuzzi were being re-surfaced. May have changed my plan had I known that was the reason for the "great deal"Genuine Expedia guest review
Everything was lovely! The only thing we felt was a little unfair was the $30 daily parking fee.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Money and parking issues"
The hotel restaurant was pricey and the food was fairly good but the billing issues were outrageous. We had a large part and paid in cash for the exception of $25. The card should of just charged that amount instead it was charged the full tables Bill amount. Image my surprise when I went to use my card and found that charge on my card. It took them […] two days to fix the problem and I got excuses and open ended apologies as I waited for my money that I had already paid on cash.... The parking card did not work at all and I ended up with several parking tickets with varying prices. We got out of the parking garage on a hope and a prayer because one ticket said $100, one said $50 and the other said $95, which is odd because parking is supposed to be $25 a day. Er err there for three days? I feel the hotel did not really accommodate us for the bill issue and made no attempt to try to ensure I would return. Customer service and happy customers go hand in hand, ill be letting everyone I know, know about my experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
we had an upgraded room, no robes (though the run of the house had robes). Hotel nickle and dimes you with charges on parking and internet! overall good, location is great and staff was very helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Locked out of the parking garage 3 times"
I have to pay $25 per day parking. First they forgot to give me the parking key. After I got my parking key, I was locked out of the garage three times and when I asked for help the lady in charge of the parking garage was very unfriendly and rude. This is a bitter experience I ever got from a hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
We loved this hotel! We stayed here since my daughter had a soccer tournament and it was close to UCSD where she was playing. It's a great location and very nice hotel. The room was very comfortable. I would love to return to this hotel just for fun. Very reasonably priced too!Genuine Expedia guest review
"This will be the place where I stay in San Diego"

"Great hotel, but beware of the false advertisement"
The hotel is located in the best part of greater San Diego area. La Jolla is beautiful, and the hotel along with its golf course is close to the shoreline. However, I had a tough of a time dealing with the hotel staff. For starters, beware of the false advertisement. I booked a room with king bed, and was given a bed that's a few inches wider than a […] queen. I went to the front desk and asked, and the staff literally had "oh my God, why am I having to deal with this" face. Finally, the manager came and explained to me that these are "hotel king" beds - different than the real king beds. She also suggested that this was my first time at Hilton - thanks for judging me as I've stayed at many hiltons all over Canada and US - and did not like any of them. The second issue I had was with the bell boy. He rushed to us at entrance, took our luggage and took it to the room with my wife as I went to park. Once in the room, he insisted that my wife gives him a tip. Her purse was in the car, but he wouldn't believe her. Finally, after 5 mins he left. He met me in the hallway and started insisting on a tip. I had no change on me, and said I will come back and pay him his undeserved tip. He kept insisting, literally begging for a tip. I ended up giving him a large tip...not because I was happy - because I was almost robbed. So - thank you Hilton, your great properties with equally poor customer service has really put me off and I am not going to return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Can't Wait to Return"
Great service from everyone we encountered. Absolutely gorgeous location--the golf course overlooking the ocean was exquisite. Very spacious, clean, and updated rooms. We had a little trouble finding it due to our navigation system misinterpreting one of the roads, but we found our way. I only wish we were able to spend more time here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is great and I had stayed there before. however this time I had reserved the stay through Expedia and even tough I had reserved 4 rooms with confirmation numbers when I called the hotel the night before they told me I only have two rooms reserved and that they are fully booked! after being on hold for 1 1/2 with Expedia and hotel the supervisors […] from both end agreed on giving us the 4 rooms. surprise surprise I thought they were booked. I did not appreciate the initial run around that they are FULLY BOOKED and that they can not accommodate us:(((( Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel Great Service"
My first time writing a review but had to do it because I was very pleased with my stay. The hotel was located near the golf course and beach with spacious, nice rooms. It also had a well attentive and friendly staff. Dean, the head concierge, made our anniversary weekend special by making sure we were taken care of. "Charges that make for an unhappy stay"
They charge 16 dollars for WIFI and 25 dollars to park. That is ridiculous. Both should be included with your stay. The WIFI??? Seriously? and if you HAVE to charge for parking it should be 10 /day at the most. Also, room service menu needs more options. Prices are also a bit steep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nicely appointed room, clean, quiet. $$$ for nightly parking at this hotel location away from the city is steep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"near ocean and la jolla"
Very nice hotel, pool, view and layout.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was staying at the Hilton for a conference that was being held there. It was very convenient to the airport as well as all the sites in San Diego. I arrived pretty late at night exhausted from traveling and was surprised to find a small bug crawling around my bed. I immediately called the front desk to change rooms. At first they told me I was probably […] not seeing bugs in the bed and they would send someone to investigate. Only when I pushed them further did they say they would send someone with a key to a new room. The only compensation they could offer for me were breakfast coupons which were unnecessary given the meals were hosted by the conference. When I went to check out they said I had charged things at the bar to my room which I did not. They also tried to charge me for parking which had already been included in the room rate. They promptly took care of this. If I had to attend another conference at this hotel I would definitely stay at another hotel even with the added inconvenience. "Beautiful Hotel, Annoyed with Internet Charge"
The hotel is beautiful and staff friendly. Our room was very nice, fairly standard size but well-appointed. An extra $18 to use the internet. We did a cross country trip this summer staying at all levels of hotels and motels. no one charged for the internet so this was a big surprise. We were visiting La Jolla for UCSD family weekend and will likely […] be staying in the area again next year, while we may stay at this hotel I will be checking around to see what alternatives are available, as I just think the internet charge was crazy. "Getaway while visiting UCSD grad student"
This was our third stay here & we will stay here again. We were busy exploring San Diego doing day trips while visiting with family. We loved having access to the various facilities but did not utilize as we had in the past. I sure wish there was a different parking policy but that is so minor. "Better have deep pockets"
This hotel nickeled and dimed me for everything they could possibly do. I got what I thought was a great deal and it turned out that the hotel charged an outrageous amount of money for everything else. For example, parking there was limited, so everyone had a choice to self-park in a gated garage for $25 per day, or valet for $30 per day. Those were […] your only two choices. The tax charge per day was $10 and the amount they charged for food and drink was insane. My room was clean, but the fan in the bathroom didn't work, even after their fix -it man looked at it. All showers filled the room with steam and I was told to leave the door open to air it out. The patio door was rusted shut and the toilet flusher was hanging off the toilet. The biggest problem is that if you pay with a check card visa, they will add $100 a day to the withdrawl until you leave. This is to cover any additional fees that might accrue during your stay and the reimbursement of these additional funds can be more than a week later to your account. Stay far away from this money pit!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Stay was good. Area was great! View was wonderful. Tennis court and basketball court, benches, etc needed work. View out window was great, but stored items in the buses below was bothersome. "A very comfortable, well run picturesque spot"
The Hilton Torrey Pines is across the parking lot from the Lodge. It is every bit as nice at less than 1/2 the price. Friendly, efficient, helpful staff; comfortable, good sized room; comfortable bed; great shower; and, a view of the course.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel. Comfortable, clean room. Food so-so."
Hotel was nice. Room was clean and comfortable. I found the room for a song on Expedia's discounted options which made it all that much better. Food was a tale to two cities. The $14, 8" pizza was excellent. But for $14 I would expect as much. The $20 buffet was average at best. In truth for the price vs. quality I would've been better off going to […] Denny's or IHOP. "Very Appealing for both Business and Leisure"
This is a beautiful property that tried very hard to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel was beautiful from the moment you pulled into the driveway. Flowers and greenery surround the property and that is before you even set eyes on the golf course. It was quiet, beautiful pool, friendly staff. Would definitely go there again. Only thing I did not like was charging for parking every day $25 per day seems a bit much. And the breakfast room service menu did not have big enough variety.Genuine Expedia guest review
My husband and I with baby stayed at this hotel over the long weekend. Our first day there we had nothing but bad service from the hotel staff from reservations to concierge. I won't go into detail, spoke with the GM about it who was very kind and was very apologetic but we will not stay at this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay but the food- ugh!"
This is a wonderful resort on top of the hill overlooking the Torrey Pines golf course and the ocean. Sadly there is not a trail where you could walk to the ocean but the view is wonderful. I was there for a 3 day conference and did not have access to a car so I ate all my meals at the hotel. I tried a large number of things on the menu - from the tasteless […] margarita pizza, the turkey sandwich, the burger -- the best two things were the burger, which had bacon on it, and the chowder. Everything else I tried was basically tasteless. The pizza was pretty much soggy cardboard, I had to put tons of red pepper and salt on it to even notice that it was food. Great place to stay, but go someplace else to eat! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel, Friendly Staff!"
We loved this hotel!!! Huge room that had plenty of space for us and our 9 month old and all of his gear. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff is super friendly. Nice views of the ocean from some rooms. The amenities were pretty good too, although we didn't use the pool or spa they looked really nice. The only reason I gave the hotel a 4 on the […] facility and condition was our sliding glass door to the balcony was so heavy that even my husband had trouble with it, there was only a shower and we had our 9 month old so we had to shower him and I thought the restaurant needed a little more pizzazz at night, although the breakfast buffet was awesome and well worth the $20 price tag. It's $35 per night to valet your car so be aware of that, and I think it's $25 to self park. That really adds up!!! But our stay could not be nicer or more comfortable! :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Well handled mishap"
When I arrived at the hotel they informed me that it was overbooked and they did not have a room for me. They sent me to another Hilton, 15 minutes away. That hotel was nice, but not as nice as La Jolla Torrey Pines. They comp'd my first night stay at the other hotel, and bought me and my guest breakfast both mornings. We moved back to the Hilton La […] Jolla Torrey Pines the 2nd night, and were treated to an upgraded room on the top floor over looking the golf course and the ocean. Overall, it was a good experience and I would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hilton Hotel usual very nice, but we had issues"
When we checked in they put an additional $300 hold on our card in case of damages which left us with less funds for our trip and we weren't notified of that before. Also the A's playoff game was muted and they told us it was a technical problem and we could watch it at the bar. Sounds like they wanted to make business. We let it slide then the next […] day the Raiders vs. Chargers game was also muted just that channel at that time. Too much of a coincidence. Sounds like a business scheme. Also they don't allow you to connect any inputs to the tv so you have to buy movies instead of connecting your DVD player or play station or anything. Overall nice hotel, nice staff, but not a good home away from home if you're limited to certain things just so they can make money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic hotel close to UC-San Diego and La Jolla"
I took my daughter on a college visit to UC-San Diego and we were lucky to get a great rate at this hotel just 10 minutes from UC-San Diego and the La Jolla beach. It was a great choice for us, both in terms of location as well as the quality of the hotel--nice pool, views, and dining.Genuine Expedia guest review
While the room itself was nice I would NEVER stay at this place again. There were charges for Parking $25! AND Internet, another $16.00 a day. It doesn't say this on the Hotels(dot)com site. When I inquired about it at the desk the two employees just shrugged and said "they charge extra for EVERYTHING". They were pretty nice but they were not going […] out of their way to make anything right. There are many places to stay in that area and if I wanted to spend $250 per night I could have easily stayed somewhere else, just as nice, in a more convenient location that provided parking and internet.
