Disappointing level of service in what should be a very nice hotel. Excellent food provided for breakfast and dinner combined with great views and a convenient location did not make up for: no wifi in the rooms (and very very slow connections in the common areas); no cleaning in the room for 3days in a row - they turned up after 6pm each of those nights; a broken television which the technician didn't seem interested in fixing; old worn out sheets; and we were first told we would have to move rooms then weren't informed that wasn't necessary (so wasted half an hour packing). Should be great but understaffed and underinvested in

My husband and I stayed at the Ibis Grenoble Gare for only one night on our way to the Alps. It is only about 2-3 blocks from the train station and next to the river. Also a close walk to downtown with restaurants and shops. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly as well!

The hotel was very clean and had spacious rooms for a european hotel. The shower had the best water pressure that I have ever experienced, even in the States. The pool was clean but needs landscaping to provide that atmosphere of relaxing oasis. The mountain view from the pool deck is amazing. The location is about 20 min from the train station by bus or tram. A shopping mall and major bus stop are directly across the street so anything that you may need is easily obtainable.

Location.
Situated in the heart of Grenoble, Hotel Angleterre is close to Place Grenette, Musee Dauphinois, and Museum de la Resistance et de la Deportation. Also nearby are Musee Grenoble and Place Paul Mistral.
Hotel Features.
Wireless Internet access is complimentary in public areas. Additional amenities include multilingual staff, coffee in the lobby, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. This is a smoke-free property. A total renovation of this property was completed in January 2005.

"Nice place well located"
Up - located nice and centrally, but fairly peaceful. Did hear the church bells Sunday morning, but not 'til 10 or so. Staff friendly and helpful. Street parking fairly easy nearby, free 19-9h. Bed and furnishings comfortable. Easy and fast free internet. Down - feels slightly shabby, "lived in" if you like. Breakfast not up to much, but not included […] either, suggest going elsewhere. "the bells, the bells"
Tiny rooms, but this is France. I doubt you can find much different in the center of town. But you can surely get further away from the church bells which ring about 100 feet from your ears from 6am to 10pm. If you time it right, you might just about get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. "Average Experience - great for the price"
Modest hotel, but right in the city center. Size of the room and bathroom were exceptional for Europe, and the price was very reasonable. There are other hotels in the area with larger facilities or that are more modern, but I was very content with my stay.
"Hotel Angleterre in Grenoble: A Tight Fit"
The room was cramped, with a lot of things crammed in such as a desk, free-standing wardrobe and a unit for TV/DVD player and minibar. The bathroom was really just a large cupboard with a mirrored sliding door. The electrics and plumbing were of a stereotypical French finish with the bathroom light switch looking like it was stuck on as an afterthought. "nice hotel, great location"
The hotel is well located, a few steps from the Victor Hugo tram station, my room oversees the Victor Hugo park, with very nice view. Walking distance to the city center. many good restaurants around, like Archer, Dix Vine etc... all major old city signseeings are within walking distance. "Wonderful location, nice hotel"
Right off the Victor Hugo Square, this hotel is easy to get to and in a lovely location just off the center of Grenoble. This was my second stay and both times I enjoyed the hotel and found it clean and very comfortable. The smaller rooms are small but served fine by myself, and the larger rooms are still small by American standards but have more room […] for a couple. I would recommend this hotel for convenience and comfort cleanliness but NOT for service at the reception. where they don't know how important it is to provide CORRECT information.

"Hotel d'angleterre"
Malheureusement nous n'avons pas pu nous rendre à l'hôtel d' Angleterre du fait de problèmes de dernière minute. J'ai téléphoné à l'hôtel 48h avant la date de réservation afin d'annuler mais il m'a été répondu qu'il fallait que je passe par votre intermédiaire si je voulais être remboursé. N'ayant pas de téléphone ou vous joindre ni d'ordinateur à disposition […] je n'ai donc pas pu vous prévenir. Je suppose donc qu'aucun remboursement n'est possible ? Très bon hôtel. Extrêmement satisfait de la façon dont a été réglé un problème. Ayant oublié mon portefeuille dans le coffre de ma chambre, l'hôtel me l'a envoyé chez moi, dans les plus brefs délais par Collissimo. Encore merci !
"Average in Grenoble"
Nothing special, nothing fancy - but very decent by Grenoble standards (I have yet to see a hotel in the city with more than 3 stars). Location is as good as it gets in Grenoble. Fairly expensive, and EUR 13 for under average breakfast.

Το ξενοδοχείο βρισκόταν στο κέντρο της Γκρενόμπλ. Το μόνο θετικό. Το δωμάτιο ήταν πάρα πολύ μικρό, το μπάνιο το ίδιο και άν δεν το είχαμε προπληρώσει θα είχαμε φύγει την ίδια στιγμή.
"Prma hotel op prima plaats"
Het hotel is uitstekend: het ligt midden in het centrum, is toch rustig, ziet er prima uit, de kamers zijn ruim, de bedden zijn uitstekend, het personeel is vriendelijk en professioneel, en het ontbijt is uit de kunst. De prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding is zeer goed. Kortom een aanrader!

J'ai beaucoup apprécié mon rapide séjour à l’hôtel Angleterre pour sa situation en plein centre ville, l'accueil et la disponibilité du personnel, une chambre très bien agencée et calme (isolation phonique exceptionnelle). Seul, le petit déjeuner n'est pas au niveau des prestations hôtelières.

Hotel trés bien placé, en plein centre de Grenoble. Tout est accessible à pied. Par contre, pour un hotel 3 etoiles, les prestations sont trop justes...
