Spent 5 wonderful days in Florence.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent hotel centrally located in Rome."
My husband & I stayed at this hotel for four nights. We were in Italy to celebrate our 25th anniversary. My husband requested a room on the fifth floor so we would have a balcony & view. The hotel staff was very accommodating. Wonderful room & amazing view. They also gave us a bottle of champagne upon arrival to celebrate our anniversary. Room was very […] clean, wonderful atmosphere. Nice breakfast buffet. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Fantastic hotel. Charming and perfect location to everything in Florence. Would definitely come back and stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Easy walk to train and city sights"
Even though the hotel was fully booked, they were very accommodating when we asked to stay an additional night due to a schedule change on our part. Fabulous view of the city from the breakfast room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Place to stay if traveling by train"
It was a nicely located and clean hotel. The sound insulation that the window provided was excellent. The breakfast was also very nice. One issue we had was that the comforter was way too warm even for the coolest setting of the A/C, which did not seemed to be working well in October. Another relatively minor issue was that there weren't enough shelf […] space for toiletries in the bathroom. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and service, but overpriced & dark"
Stayed here for two nights recently when just about every other room in Florence at their price point was booked. The location is wonderful: just steps from both the train station and major sights like the duomo, david, etc. The staff & concierge were terrific, exactly what one would expect of a "4 star" hotel. Unfortunately, the 4 star ratings end […] w location and service. The room we had was incredibly small. our "double bed" was really just two twins shoved together. for some inexplicable reason, the incredible view our room had of the duomo (we stayed on 4th floor) was never showcased as our room had stained glass windows and blackout shutters. the bathroom was tiny, and the shower was so small i literally had to stand sideways to fit into it. And while again the view on the top dining" floor was great, the complimentary continental breakfast served there was by far the worst we had of the four hotels we stayed in while in Italy. Selection was limited, eggs were watery, breads, fruits, and pastas were of inferior quality. It is because of the inescapable shortcomings of the structure itself and the food served that I cannot reccommend Baglioni as a "4-star" hotel. In reality, I would say its best comps (outside of concierge) are of the two star variety. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect hotel for a wonderful city"
This is a very stylish hotel situated in the center of Florence.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Holy Sta.Maria Novella!"
For the two nights we stayed at the Grand Hotel Baglioni the experience could not have been any more fabulous. The entire staff should be rated 5 star or higher and their renovations only promise a better future experience. the restaurant and roof top dining offered wonderful city vistas. The (included) breakfast is exceptional. Even its history is […] wrapped in intrigue. Grazie mille! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Large rooms for old European hotel"
Nice hotel all around but perhaps the best surprise was the surprisingly large rooms. Usually in the cool old hotels in Europe I'm annoyed by the tiny rooms, but this one was great, especially the high ceilings.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Spacious rooms & excellent views"
We completely lucked out with this room. We paid $175/night in late August, and had a very large room (for European standards) with a romantic 4th floor balcony staring straight across to the Duomo. The hotel itself offers free wifi, generous free breakfast with a gorgeous view, convenient location to Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station. We would […] absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others. Definitely request a Duomo-facing room. We didn't request, but got very very lucky - it made our honeymoon stay all the more romantic. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Elegant hotel in a great location"
The hotel was lovely and had a ton of charm. The breakfast was served on the 5th floor, which provided wonderful views of the city. The location was conveniently located a block from the train station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel in central location"
very nice hotel that is centrally located. very clean and old Tuscan charm. best thing the roof terrace where you can have a drink at night or have dinner (reservations required). Breakfast buffet was very nice and plentiful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Awesome Hotel, it's in The Inferno" by Dan Brown"
Greatest hotel ever. Location is seriously right across the street from the Train station. So beautiful- everything was so clean. We had our college graduate daughter, so we got a triple room. Perfect, large room with 3 beds. Very air conditioned! And upstairs we had a glass of wine on the deck that overlooked all of Florence. We were in a perfect location […] for seeing Florence. The breakfast was included and it also was on top floor- everything you could want to eat. Loved it, will come back here and stay.we also ate lunch at hotel, Stefano was our waiter, the best. Personally wrote must see things to do in Florence. Staff were all so kind and spoke English. Thank you Hotels.com. We were reading The Inferno by Dan Brown as we got to Florence . On page 265 it mentions this hotel... We didn't know till we got there. We took "The Inferno" tour- a must! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, service ho-hum."
I loved the Hotel, but the service was not so great. The location right next to the train and tram stops was really convenient. The staff does not go out of it's way to help you. They were not very accomodating at all.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic Location for stay in florence."
We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. everything was good but the front desk staff could be little more courteous. They were helpful but that little politeness makes all the difference. The rooms are very big in size by European standards and very comfortable to stay in. Also the free Wifi is very handy.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cool rooms with vaulted ceiling"
The room overlooked the train station and the cathedral and had a great look. The floors were a bit old and were super creaky (and a bit slippery!). It was close to the train station and within walking distance of great sites. There's a self service laundromat close by which is much cheaper than the hotel laundry service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to everything, old hotel"
This hotel is moderately priced and within walking distance of everything (esp train) which was extremely convenient. We didn't need to take a car anywhere. The hotel is clean, but old. Some may find it charming but we were looking for something more modern. I didn't like that the "concierge" was in the hotel but apparently an outside company. Therefore, […] we were charged a "commission" for anything booked through them. The rooftop restaurant was beautiful with awesome views. We went there once for our free breakfast which was okay. Very simple. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel with a View"
I booked this hotel based on hotel.com ratings and reviews. It was a great find in Florence. A block from the train. No taxi needed to get to hotel. The staff is so nice. And the view from the rooftop is not to be missed. Great stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Grand old hotel close to train station"
The Grand Hotel Baglioni is located across the plaza fom the train station so arriving by train is very convenient. The hotel has an old world charm to it which really fit in Florence. The room was large by European standards with a beamed ceiling and floor to ceiling windows that opened up to a view of the Duomo. Pretty spectacular! The breakfast was […] served on the 5th floor terrace that overlooked the city. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice roof top restaurant/service lacking"
I booked 2 rooms 1 for our adult sons the other for my husband and myself, they initially gave us 2 rooms on the 1st floor. I asked for rooms a little higher, to which they said we could only have 1 room switched but not both, they gave us 1 room facing a crane towards the busy street. Our sons room was worse the window would not even open and since […] the rooms are so dark it actually looked like a dungeon. By the 3rd day I just could not in good conscience leave them in those conditions and approached the desk to get them a better room. Again, resistance but I was able to move them to a 3rd floor room, no view but at least they could open the window and get some sunlight. Their hotel info channel stated they offered vegetarian appetizers during happy hour 7- 8 p.m. but when we got there the waiter didn't know what we were talking about and bought us chips and peanuts with our 1st round of drinks, then I see the waiter bring appetizers to another table which I questioned. Waiter then said she would bring us appetizers for two, but we ordered 4 drinks shouldn't we get 4? Arguing with the waiter over appetizers was just ridiculous. We then proceeded to the dining area for dinner which was great, service and all. We did speak with a manager after dinner and he told us to come back the next day and he would offer us a complimentary bottle of wine, well we did and I guess he forgot about the wine but we did eat there again and paid for our own bottle of wine. "Great location and hotel"
The staff was welcoming and professional - always smiling. The hotel is situated very close walking to many main attraction areas but not on top of the massive hustle and bustle. We can't wait Ti go backGenuine Expedia guest review
"The location is hands down the best."
The location is hands down the best. It is very close to the train station so it makes it very easy to get to the hotel when you arrive in Florence.Genuine Expedia guest review

"great location near everything"
great hotel in the old european tradition. The wood work everywhere was beautiful. One pitfall, the single hardest bed I ever sleep on. Very uncomfortable. The rooftop restaurant, breakfast included had the most spectacular views of the old cityGenuine Expedia guest review
"Definitely a great Hotel-"
Do not forget to book Dinner on the roof Terrace restaurant while the sun is setting ....!Genuine Expedia guest review
close to historical sites and close to train station .Good breakfast. Clean room..a little small but comfortable. Top level had fantastic views of the city and surrounding hills.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right by the train station"
The room was great, but the best part about the hotel is the rooftop bar and restaurant terraces. One of the best views in Florence - day or night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet but close to everything"
Our stay was great! They gave us a choice between 2 rooms, always had a nice breakfast. We had lunch and dinner in the hotel twice and all of the meals were prepared wonderfully. They had the hot mineral bathes for couples or individuals right there in the hotel! I would recommend this hotel to Everyone!! but would rather keep it a secret!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, but little pricey"
Nice hotel, convenient location. Unless you really want the extra room in the hotel to relax, I would go for something cheaper. We barely spent anytime in our room. The breakfast was the same as any other hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel in a great location"
The hotel was easy to get to, located very close to the train station and was only a short walk to all the major attractions. The Bell man at the front door was very nice and helpful but the one that delivered our bags gave us no information on where to find things in the room and how certain things worked so that was disappointing but we figured things […] out. The front desk staff and the house cleaning staff were very friendly. The room was wonderful as well as the breakfast buffet. The bell men that were inside the hotel were not very friendly and even though at times we clearly needed assistance they didn't offer any. They were more concerned with carrying on a conversation with each other. Having said that I would still recommend this hotel (can't let one bad apple ruin the bunch). "A little past her prime"
This is a very old, stately hotel. The location is right by the train station. Breakfast were lovely on the roof top . The beds were very hard and the over all atmosphere is dark.Genuine Expedia guest review

"a comfortable stay"
The hotels central location is a plus for any one visiting Florence - The hotels breakfast could be better if the could serve eggs. Staff is very accomodating if you need extras for your room. I think its a great stay. If you watch any TV the screen is small and they receive only 2 news channels in english.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Easy walking commute from the train station"
This hotel is close to many tourist attractions, good restaurants and the train station. Perfect location for those transporting bags and walking from the train station. Interior was clean and nicely decorated. Our room was clean and spacious and low noise level for being on a main street in Florence. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel and staff were amazing! The location in Florence is perfect. Seconds from the train station (perfect for day trips) and extremely close to all the sights Florence has to offer! The daily breakfast was a 10 with incredible city views! The only thing that I would have changed were the beds were a bit hard for my comfort level, but I quickly […] got over that as I was usually so exhausted from a long day of touring. "In the heart of Florence's Center"
If taking the train to Florence, this is the first hotel that you see when existing the main station. Amazing location, walking distance to the dome and all Florence attractions. Car parking available for 36 euros per 24 hours - learn how to reach without coming into ZTLs. Hotel is very old but in good condition, rooms and the entire theme is very classical. […] Nice roof top dining area and again walking to distance to everything in Florence. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

If you're taking the train to Florence, this hotel is conveniently located across the street, so no taxi required. It's also walkable to many of the sites. The hotel is large and has been around for more than a century, so there is a little wear and tear that is evident. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The only problem we encountered was […] that our room was made up very late, at 4 pm in the afternoon. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great, cheap place to stay at for a getaway."
I really liked the simpleness of the rooms. The bathtub was very spacious. I loved the view from the window and the high ceilings gave the room a nice regal feel to it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A nice hotel w/ a great location."
To US travelers always need to remember to take 1 to 11/2 stars off a Euopean hotel rating to get the US equivalent. By US standards this is a 3 start hotel. The price was a little high for the age of the facility, but that's what it is for a central location in a European city. The location was great, a very short walk from the train station and all […] the highlights of Florence. The bathroom was nice, though one of our two rooms had a small shower door so there was always water on the floor. The included breakfast was very nice and convenient; what a view from the room! I would stay at this hotel the next time I'm in Florence. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was beautiful, clean, excellent location and everything you would expect from a large hotel. The staff and breakfast was amazing and did try to accommodate, however the hotel was booked to make room changes. I did have a few concerns, the hotel had varies levels within the same floor, extremely noisy if your room is facing the front or side […] streets, mattresses were very hard, and lastly in my room the shower design was such that the entire bathroom floor was completely soaked after every use, even if you were careful, almost forced to take a bath, unless you had enough towels for the floor. My parents are elderly and have knee and ankle issues, so I made sure to get a hotel that had an elevator, however once you reached your designated floor, there were two separate sets of 6-10 stair/steps before their room were reached. At this hotel, which I would stay again given the location and accommodation, you must state when booking that you would like a quiet room in the back of each floor, a room with no additional steps, and a room with a shower that is not designed to soak the bathroom floor. I did notice each room is slightly different, so these request are not unreasonable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Perfect location. Helpful staff. Very nice room. hotel is well taken care of. Somewhat disappointed in menu of roof top restaurant. Not very reflective of the area. Lovely view from the restaurant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Across from train station"
Above average hotel. Very close to landmarks. The staff could be nicer. The rooms were clean and well decorated. The air conditioning was not an option and the room gets too hot by midnight. When you open the window the street noise is loud. Next to bus and train station makes it handy but very noisy. Breakfast had a variety of European offerings.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
