"Great location next to train station"
Very convenient to train station. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant on the top floor serving breakfast has an amazing view. Our rate included breakfast and was worth every penny. Would definitely stay there again, highly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Home away from home"
I always stay at the Baglioni and enjoy the fact that every room is slightly different and yet all have quirky old parquet floors and sparkling white bathrooms. Breakfast in the Terrazza Brunelleschi with the winter sun rising over the Duomo is spectacular.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A convenient and quiet place to stay"
The hotel is about a block from the train station and is easy to access by using the tunnel under the street. The hotel is in an area of Florence that makes all major tourist sites easily accessible on foot. There are many places in the neighborhood to eat and the hotel has a high quality restaurant. Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the fifth […] floor and has a very good view of the city. The room we were in(162) was quite large and very impressive, the room and bath was very clean and well appointed. That being said I did find the reception desk to be somewhat aloof and detached, perhaps this is the norm in a large hotel. But on the other hand the doorman and the baggage handler was very helpful and deserving of a good tip Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Amazing Stay in Florence"
We spent four nights at the Grand Hotel Baglioni and had a wonderful time! The hotel is certainly housed within an old building, but it has so much character! The stained glass windows are gorgeous and we were lucky enough to have a large one in our room. The staff was wonderful as well. We had dinner three nights at the rooftop restaurant and the food […] and service were impeccable. The restaurant staff including Antonio, Claudio and especially Vincenzo were amazing and made our stay truly something to remember. If we have another opportunity to visit Florence, we will definitely stay at the Grand Baglioni Hotel again. The breakfast buffet was great and convenient. The wifi was readily available - so no worries there. Another plus, is that many of the tours in and round Florence leave from right across the piazza from the hotel. Overall, a truly excellent ane memorable trip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Grand hotel with decent rooms."
The hotel lobby was grand and impressive. Our room was decent, however a bit older than shown on their website. Neverthless the room was charming and the bed comfy. The bathroom, however, needed some renovation (particularly the bath/shower). Great location particularly if you are coming in by train. "Great easy access!"
Great location & easy access to all! Variety selections of breakfast buffet with a Duomo view, too bad bf wasn't set-up from the rooftop, but still a nice view. Upon checking-in it took awhile, the rep's excuse was his finding us a nice room with a view. Yeah right! We've got a view of a side street & a pedestrian. Thanks for the effort! Aircon was'nt […] working on our 2nd night, so we have to open the window (typical European hotel style, when it's cold for them the aircon will not operate). Bed was firm but big enough & 3people could fit in. Water in the shower room kept changing the temp from hot to extremely hot. Maybe I'm taking too long in the shower room... Hehehe! But overall, still willing to come back because of the location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel is okay, location perfect"
The hotel is nice but nothing special and clearly needs an update. From a working perspective the rooms are too dark. However, if you want to have a perfect view from the 5th floor restaurant and your 4th floor room on the city and be in walking distance to more or less everything than this is the perfect place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was extremely outdated. There were ants and roaches in our bathroom. There was a blinding blue neon sign outside of our window, which was so high up that you had to stand on your tippy toes to see out of it. The room was like a prison cell and the bed was beyond hard. The hair dryer was from the sixties and didn't work at all. We asked for […] a more updated room but they were full the first night we were there. They said that they could possibly upgrade us the second day but there would be a fee. The only redeeming quality to this hotel is the view from the roof; however, it was rented out to private events both nights we were there, so we weren't able to eat at the hotel. Overall, we were satisfied, however the nighttime front desk staff were not friendly or helpful. There were several occasions that we needed assistance and they were completely unresponsive. Great location in Florence and very convenient to the train station and all the sights. Only issue we had was the sleeping arrangements. Grand hotel in the heart of Florence...probably once someone's palace! Large room, with updated large bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. "Great location, stunning rooftop view of city."
We liked the historical feel of the hotel and the roof is spectacular. It is central and so walking is easy wherever you want to visit. The room was not what we booked as a "city view" as it had one small window that looked into an abandoned building next door. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom fine. The hotel is well situated. The reception staff could have been friendlier and more helpful. The wifi is very slow and was completely down for a day. Breakfast was adequate but nothing to rave about. "Five minute walk to train station"
Fantastic. we stayed at the Baglioni seven years ago and enjoyed it then. We did, however, enjoy this stay even more because of tall the upgrades the Baglioni has made. An easy ten-minute walk to Il Duomo, the Baptistry, and the Camanile; a two minute walk to Santa Maria Novella, a ten-minute walk to the Accadamia to see the David; a ten-minute walk […] to Ponte Vecchio and the River Arno. "Good Vacation Hotel"
Overall, a good to very good stay. It is very convenient to train station and city. Rooms were comfortable but the usual Europe small. Air conditioner was disappointing, as was the shower - which alternated from extreme hot to cool very often. Good breakfast and they have a really helpful wait staff at breakfast too! Young people, but really with it. […] Rooftop area is superb and a highlight of the hotel, in our opinion! Rather expensive for cocktails though. We used the daily laundry service and it was excellent. One downside is the Wifi Service. Intermittent at best which is a real issue if you are a business traveler today. "Grand Hotel Baglioni. Florence - convenient & nice"
Florence is a great old city, which also makes it difficult to find a nice hotel with modern amenities. We lucked out with this one. The rooms are older but clean...reminds me of how Italian relatives would equip a room in their old home...minimalist but sufficient. The free wifi was excellent and the breakfast buffet was very good with amazing views […] of the city. Location was just a block from the train station, a priority for us. The 'marital bed' was large enough for me, my wife and 4yo daughter. Each floor is expansive...and we were unfortunately as far from the elevator as could be...maybe because they thought my daughter would make noise...or they were otherwise full. "Elegant, Grand Hotel full of Americans"
This hotel , unlike many others I stayed at on this trip, certainly catered to an American clientelle. Take that as you wish. What it meant to me is all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. I upgraded to a mini suite type room for an extra amount of euros a night. The room was very large and grand and the bathroom was delightful with a beautiful […] spa-like oval tub. The breakfast was a full, hot american breakfast. The italians tend to like their rooms quite warm. The only drawback we experienced was that the weather was unusually warm, thus the room was too hot and we had to open the windows which made the room very loud! I would ask for a room not on the main street, as the noise and foot traffic does not stop until around 4:30 am. "aggressive, confrontational night manager"
After checking-out early in the morning with the apparent night manager (it was still dark out), we requested a taxi to the airport. Lucky for us, there was a taxi sitting right outside the window with its engine running. However, as soon as we requested it, the night manager went to the window, opened it, and yelled at the taxi driver to leave. He […] then told us to go sit down, without any explanation. So my girlfriend and I sat and waited patiently in the waiting area for approximately 10 minutes, wondering why we were still waiting, when other taxi's could be seen driving by the hotel. Finally I walked back to the counter and asked the night manager, nicely, if a car was coming and why he had ushered away the taxi that had been sitting outside. He told me one was coming and to just sit down. It seemed obvious at that point that he had called an associate to come pick us up, rather than give the fare to an anonymous driver. That wasn’t a big deal, but having my girlfriend with me, and being ever wary of security issues, I can't say the concern didn't cross my mind of a set-up. Nonetheless, I went and sat back down, and that is when the night manager walked over to us and asked, very abruptly, when our flight was scheduled to depart. I responded, very nicely, “if a taxi arrives soon we will have plenty of time to catch our flight, but thank-you”. He stared at me for a second, and then repeated his question, even more abruptly, “what time is your flight leaving”? Not trusting him any longer, I responded politely, but seriously, “thank-you, we will have enough time”. He started walking away a few steps, but then turned around, walked back to us, and standing over us, said loudly “Perhaps you did not understand my question. I asked you what time your flight leaves”. Because my girlfriend was with me, I told him our flight time. He replied that we did not need to leave yet, and stomped away. We were so pleasantly surprised when we got to this hotel in Florence. Very conveniently located by the train station. Our room reminded me of staying in a castle. It was for 3 people, and it was very large with meticulously cared for wooden built in furniture, and high beautiful ceilings. By far the nicest room I had in Europe!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I recently toured Italy with my two young daughters and this was one of our favorite hotels. The hotel is in this historic building and feels "grand." The rooms are large with tall ceilings, big windows and high quality furnishings. The shower was the only shower in Italy that was anything like an American shower (this is a good thing). My only complaint […] is the firmness of the bed, but that is simply the way all the beds are in Italy: too firm! The hotel felt very safe, so much so that I had no problem letting my 10 year old girls wander the halls by themselves while I checked email in the lobby. Which reminds me, free WiFi in the lobby is a huge plus and not as common as one would think. The room we had came with breakfast which was also among the nicer breakfasts that I have had during our two week trip. It was a nice spread in an nice setting on the fourth floor of the hotel. As for location, it is so close to the train station you can see the sign "Grand Baglioni" on the roof from the line to buy train tickets. Seriously. Which, in Florence is really nice because being in the center of the city is a huge plus. I also noticed an italian wedding party at the hotel. This is obviously a really nice place that even locals use, which is always a good sign. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
