"Right by the train station"
The room was great, but the best part about the hotel is the rooftop bar and restaurant terraces. One of the best views in Florence - day or night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet but close to everything"
Our stay was great! They gave us a choice between 2 rooms, always had a nice breakfast. We had lunch and dinner in the hotel twice and all of the meals were prepared wonderfully. They had the hot mineral bathes for couples or individuals right there in the hotel! I would recommend this hotel to Everyone!! but would rather keep it a secret!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, but little pricey"
Nice hotel, convenient location. Unless you really want the extra room in the hotel to relax, I would go for something cheaper. We barely spent anytime in our room. The breakfast was the same as any other hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel in a great location"
The hotel was easy to get to, located very close to the train station and was only a short walk to all the major attractions. The Bell man at the front door was very nice and helpful but the one that delivered our bags gave us no information on where to find things in the room and how certain things worked so that was disappointing but we figured things […] out. The front desk staff and the house cleaning staff were very friendly. The room was wonderful as well as the breakfast buffet. The bell men that were inside the hotel were not very friendly and even though at times we clearly needed assistance they didn't offer any. They were more concerned with carrying on a conversation with each other. Having said that I would still recommend this hotel (can't let one bad apple ruin the bunch). "A little past her prime"
This is a very old, stately hotel. The location is right by the train station. Breakfast were lovely on the roof top . The beds were very hard and the over all atmosphere is dark.Genuine Expedia guest review

Wonderful!!! Don't forget to take your camera to breakfast...the view from the rooftop restaurant is breathtaking and you don't want to miss that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"a comfortable stay"
The hotels central location is a plus for any one visiting Florence - The hotels breakfast could be better if the could serve eggs. Staff is very accomodating if you need extras for your room. I think its a great stay. If you watch any TV the screen is small and they receive only 2 news channels in english.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Easy walking commute from the train station"
This hotel is close to many tourist attractions, good restaurants and the train station. Perfect location for those transporting bags and walking from the train station. Interior was clean and nicely decorated. Our room was clean and spacious and low noise level for being on a main street in Florence. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel and staff were amazing! The location in Florence is perfect. Seconds from the train station (perfect for day trips) and extremely close to all the sights Florence has to offer! The daily breakfast was a 10 with incredible city views! "In the heart of Florence's Center"
If taking the train to Florence, this is the first hotel that you see when existing the main station. Amazing location, walking distance to the dome and all Florence attractions. If you're taking the train to Florence, this hotel is conveniently located across the street, so no taxi required. It's also walkable to many of the sites. The hotel is large and has been around for more than a century, so there is a little wear and tear that is evident. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The only problem we encountered was […] that our room was made up very late, at 4 pm in the afternoon. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great, cheap place to stay at for a getaway."
I really liked the simpleness of the rooms. The bathtub was very spacious. I loved the view from the window and the high ceilings gave the room a nice regal feel to it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A nice hotel w/ a great location."
To US travelers always need to remember to take 1 to 11/2 stars off a Euopean hotel rating to get the US equivalent. By US standards this is a 3 start hotel. The price was a little high for the age of the facility, but that's what it is for a central location in a European city. The location was great, a very short walk from the train station and all […] the highlights of Florence. The bathroom was nice, though one of our two rooms had a small shower door so there was always water on the floor. The included breakfast was very nice and convenient; what a view from the room! I would stay at this hotel the next time I'm in Florence. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was beautiful, clean, excellent location and everything you would expect from a large hotel. The staff and breakfast was amazing and did try to accommodate, however the hotel was booked to make room changes. I did have a few concerns, the hotel had varies levels within the same floor, extremely noisy if your room is facing the front or side […] streets, mattresses were very hard, and lastly in my room the shower design was such that the entire bathroom floor was completely soaked after every use, even if you were careful, almost forced to take a bath, unless you had enough towels for the floor. My parents are elderly and have knee and ankle issues, so I made sure to get a hotel that had an elevator, however once you reached your designated floor, there were two separate sets of 6-10 stair/steps before their room were reached. At this hotel, which I would stay again given the location and accommodation, you must state when booking that you would like a quiet room in the back of each floor, a room with no additional steps, and a room with a shower that is not designed to soak the bathroom floor. I did notice each room is slightly different, so these request are not unreasonable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Perfect location. Helpful staff. Very nice room. hotel is well taken care of. Somewhat disappointed in menu of roof top restaurant. Not very reflective of the area. Lovely view from the restaurant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Across from train station"
Above average hotel. Very close to landmarks. The staff could be nicer. The rooms were clean and well decorated. The air conditioning was not an option and the room gets too hot by midnight. When you open the window the street noise is loud. Next to bus and train station makes it handy but very noisy. Breakfast had a variety of European offerings.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

**LOVED** this hotel....out of 3 separate Italian hotels we stayed in (4 & 5 star hotels in Rome), Hotel Baglioni was by far the best!....where to begin?....the location to the train station, all major sites, the old Italian-style ambiance with a refreshing modern appeal, the free room upgrade (!!), the free buffet breakfast, the fluently bilingual/pleasant/helpful […] staff. The concierge even booked all of our tickets to the galleries, enabling us to easily skip all of the lines! "Great location next to train station"
Very convenient to train station. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant on the top floor serving breakfast has an amazing view. Our rate included breakfast and was worth every penny. Would definitely stay there again, highly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Home away from home"
I always stay at the Baglioni and enjoy the fact that every room is slightly different and yet all have quirky old parquet floors and sparkling white bathrooms. Breakfast in the Terrazza Brunelleschi with the winter sun rising over the Duomo is spectacular.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A convenient and quiet place to stay"
The hotel is about a block from the train station and is easy to access by using the tunnel under the street. The hotel is in an area of Florence that makes all major tourist sites easily accessible on foot. There are many places in the neighborhood to eat and the hotel has a high quality restaurant. Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the fifth […] floor and has a very good view of the city. The room we were in(162) was quite large and very impressive, the room and bath was very clean and well appointed. That being said I did find the reception desk to be somewhat aloof and detached, perhaps this is the norm in a large hotel. But on the other hand the doorman and the baggage handler was very helpful and deserving of a good tip Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Amazing Stay in Florence"
We spent four nights at the Grand Hotel Baglioni and had a wonderful time! The hotel is certainly housed within an old building, but it has so much character! The stained glass windows are gorgeous and we were lucky enough to have a large one in our room. The staff was wonderful as well. We had dinner three nights at the rooftop restaurant and the food […] and service were impeccable. The restaurant staff including Antonio, Claudio and especially Vincenzo were amazing and made our stay truly something to remember. If we have another opportunity to visit Florence, we will definitely stay at the Grand Baglioni Hotel again. The breakfast buffet was great and convenient. The wifi was readily available - so no worries there. Another plus, is that many of the tours in and round Florence leave from right across the piazza from the hotel. Overall, a truly excellent ane memorable trip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Grand hotel with decent rooms."
The hotel lobby was grand and impressive. Our room was decent, however a bit older than shown on their website. Neverthless the room was charming and the bed comfy. "Great easy access!"
Great location & easy access to all! Variety selections of breakfast buffet with a Duomo view, too bad bf wasn't set-up from the rooftop, but still a nice view. Upon checking-in it took awhile, the rep's excuse was his finding us a nice room with a view. Yeah right! We've got a view of a side street & a pedestrian. Thanks for the effort! Aircon was'nt […] working on our 2nd night, so we have to open the window (typical European hotel style, when it's cold for them the aircon will not operate). Bed was firm but big enough & 3people could fit in. Water in the shower room kept changing the temp from hot to extremely hot. Maybe I'm taking too long in the shower room... Hehehe! But overall, still willing to come back because of the location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel is okay, location perfect"
The hotel is nice but nothing special and clearly needs an update. From a working perspective the rooms are too dark. However, if you want to have a perfect view from the 5th floor restaurant and your 4th floor room on the city and be in walking distance to more or less everything than this is the perfect place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was extremely outdated. There were ants and roaches in our bathroom. There was a blinding blue neon sign outside of our window, which was so high up that you had to stand on your tippy toes to see out of it. The room was like a prison cell and the bed was beyond hard. The hair dryer was from the sixties and didn't work at all. We asked for […] a more updated room but they were full the first night we were there. They said that they could possibly upgrade us the second day but there would be a fee. The only redeeming quality to this hotel is the view from the roof; however, it was rented out to private events both nights we were there, so we weren't able to eat at the hotel. Overall, we were satisfied, however the nighttime front desk staff were not friendly or helpful. There were several occasions that we needed assistance and they were completely unresponsive. Great location in Florence and very convenient to the train station and all the sights. Only issue we had was the sleeping arrangements. Grand hotel in the heart of Florence...probably once someone's palace! Large room, with updated large bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. "Great location, stunning rooftop view of city."
We liked the historical feel of the hotel and the roof is spectacular. It is central and so walking is easy wherever you want to visit. The room was not what we booked as a "city view" as it had one small window that looked into an abandoned building next door. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom fine. Nothing grand but perfectly lovely to rest […] and cleanup when you are spending time in such a beautiful city. The hotel is well situated. The reception staff could have been friendlier and more helpful. The wifi is very slow and was completely down for a day. Breakfast was adequate but nothing to rave about. "Five minute walk to train station"
Fantastic. we stayed at the Baglioni seven years ago and enjoyed it then. We did, however, enjoy this stay even more because of tall the upgrades the Baglioni has made. An easy ten-minute walk to Il Duomo, the Baptistry, and the Camanile; a two minute walk to Santa Maria Novella, a ten-minute walk to the Accadamia to see the David; a ten-minute walk […] to Ponte Vecchio and the River Arno. Fantastic. And the roof-top terrace for drinks after dinner dinner was nothing short of spectacular. But then again, every hotel we have booked on Hotels.com has been a great find at low prices. "Good Vacation Hotel"
Overall, a good to very good stay. It is very convenient to train station and city. Rooms were comfortable but the usual Europe small. Air conditioner was disappointing, as was the shower - which alternated from extreme hot to cool very often. Good breakfast and they have a really helpful wait staff at breakfast too! Young people, but really with it. […] Rooftop area is superb and a highlight of the hotel, in our opinion! Rather expensive for cocktails though. We used the daily laundry service and it was excellent. One downside is the Wifi Service. Intermittent at best which is a real issue if you are a business traveler today.
