This is a good business hotel option for Hatfield area. The building and infrastructure is old and worn. Plumbing is interesting. But beds are comfortable, staff are very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant is surprisingly decent.

This is the site of the old Comet Hotel. The hotel building was a little run down (e.g. old carpets) but mostly OK. The rooms have been updated fairly recently . My room had body shower bars that failed to work even after a call to the fix-it man. The shower temperature seemed suddenly, changing from hot to cold in just a few seconds. This sometimes […] made showering comfortably problematic. The fix-it man took a look but there was no apparent change. Perhaps this is a remnant of earlier hotel plumbing. Service was quick, efficient and polite. Free Wi-fi in the lobby was fast and worked well. My room was clean and well appointed. My room had an iron, hair-drier, coffee/teamaker, and flatscreen TV. Free English breakfast buffet was well cooked but best taken before it had lingered too long under the heat lamps. Overall I was pleased with the hotel. I intend to stay there again as the location is convenient for access to Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City and the A1(M). Read more

Have stayed at the hotel many times over the last 53 year. This is the first time since it became a Ramada. They have done a great job of upgradeing while still keeping the front of the hotel as I remember it. Before I stayed at the hotel I would occasionly dine there (in the 1950s). Still great place to visit.

This hotel proved to be the best in terms of room size, cleanliness and food quality(I ate breakfast and dinner here). Shower was just a slight drip I wouldn't even call it a shower. Lumpy pillows. And reception desk man said I hadn't paid when I was checking in which I had paid through hotels.com he discovered I was right but I had to wait so overall not worth the price they charge.

Quite a sprawling hotel, as fairly large. But room comfortable and shower cabinet, whilst quirky and slightly less than optimally maintained functioned and was clean. Reception staff excellent and helpful. Breakfast buffet was very busy - took time to get simple things like coffee. Worst hotel stay this year - so many issues! Booked a double room - received a single, and they refused to change. Room had no A/C and was VERY hot and stuffy in the night even with the window open. Room overlooked the bins area behind the bar - got woken up at 1am with the staff dumping the glass bottles into the bins. Shower had little pressure - […] it just fell out of the head with barely any angle. Taps over the sink had air trapped in the pipes so the water came out in splurges. Toilet was a pain to flush, taking 2 or 3 attempts to get the flush mechanism to release to water as a normal toilet should. After booking a double room on arrival I was given a single. I complained and was then given a double that had just become available only to find when I went into the room it was already occupied and reception did not know this! I finally was given a twin which did not overcome the issue of not having a double bed but at least the room was bigger than […] a matchbox! The hotel itself is badly in need of a refurbishment and then room I was in had peeling wallpaper, chipped paint and was generally very past its prime. The only plus point to the stay was that the staff member on reception was friendly and did her best to help resolve the problem even if she was not successful. I would not stay here again ever as I feel there was no value for money compared to plenty of other stays I have made in similar graded hotels. Read more

In the snippet of summer, the room was soo hot - goodness knows what it would be like in full summer conditions. Free wifi would have helped but alas UK hotels have small rooms, no added bonuses and a high price.

Very nice rooms, staff were rude and unhelpful. Check in wasn't ready when stated, especially annoying on the day of a festival (you'd think they would have prepared for this) and especially disappointed to hear someone had seen a member of staff going through peoples bags that were placed behind the desk. The welcome was friendly and the service efficient. Finding the room was a trek and there did not appear to be a lift as the staff also had to carry the new linen and the towels up the stairs. The bill was not quite right as the room service added 10% to the total which does not appear on the list in the room service. poor stay the police were almost call to deal with a group of badminton players who were full of booze after watching them served drink after drink in the hotel bar so staff played there part. The bar smelt of raw sewage and this was blamed on the glass cleaner.Never again.

Location is the main selling point -- very close to University of Hertfordshire and Galleria shopping centre. Small and lovely hotel, but price is rather high compare to it's class, facilities are very basic. Food served in the restaurant do not have many choices but quite good and the service is excellent, both breakfast and dinner.

Although the Hotel is fairly nicely situated, getting to and from the main line station in Hatfield is difficult. It's too far to walk and car parking at the station is chancy. It would be a great convenience to guests if the Hotel had a shuttle bus for this purpose.

Prominently located, if a little unprepossessing in its appearance. Room was fine, but the free wi-fi kept crashing, obligating me to purchase time via the hotel's chargeable ethernet connection. I chose this hotel because it was close to the University of Hertfordshire campus, so in easy reach of my student daughter when collecting her at the end of term. We arrived early on the Sunday and they (unnecessarily) apologised because they couldnt let us have a room there and then, but kindly held our bags behind reception so that we could go into […] central London for an evening in town. When we returned they charged us less than the quoted rate for the room and gave us an exec room as well (it was access by a fair trek stairs but we are fit, so did not mind, and we have walked farther in airport hotels to get to our rooms!) The decor of the hotel was excellent - on par with airport hotels - and the staff all very helpful. Ramada hatfield ligger vid en rondell men har nära till ett "outlet" med si sådär utbud. Hotellet ligger mitt i University of Herfordshires campus så det passar bra för besökande akademiker eller studenter. Som semesterhotell kräver det bil. Man kan dock ta sig till charmiga St Albans med buss och detta tar 15-20 minuter samt kostar £2.5. Hotellets […] frukost är helt godkänd och de fixar till och med en capucino om man ber om det! Ramada Hatfield er et Hotell som passer bra hvis du er på konferanse eller møte ved University of Hartfordshire. Ellers ville jeg ikke valgt dette hotellet.
