"The Greatest Place on Earth"
If I could I would give them a ten in everything! Didn't even know we were still in a city, (exception of the spa next to the road). Had a wonderful night and a great afternoon of golf! Thanks big to Billie at check in, she is fantastic!!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"An oasis in the middle of desert."
Everything about this resort is excellent, room, staff, restaurant, landscape, golf... We wish we had stayed longer.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Boulders is a great hotel. LGBT friendly and very well maintained. Off season there is a lot to do - it is about 25 mins from downtown Scottsdale, but the remote nature of it makes it ideal. Also if you are doing day trips it is only about 1.5 hours to Sedona.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great if you golf"
If you are a golfer, this place is paradise - especially in the hot summer when rates are so much lower. For the non-golfer this property is beautiful but offers much less to do than other top resorts. The pool is fine but not on par with similar properties. The spa and fitness facilities are very good. The dining options are limited and could use an […] upgrade. It is not possible to eat on property after 10pm, and even then the only option is in the lobby lounge which is ill-suited for actual dining in that most of its tables and chairs are really only geared toward cocktails. The setting of the hotel is undeniably beautiful and the quality and condition of the rooms is very high. I would definitely return here but plan around the property's limitations. "Nice and relaxing"
We are Phoenix locals and wanted a couple of days of relaxation. This was a great resort for that. We felt like we went away but were only 45 minutes from home. The staff from the minute we pulled in until we left were very nice and accomodating. We ate at the main restaurant - good food and service. The grounds were well maintained and we enjoyed walking […] around looking at the resort and seeing all the natural inhabitants of the grounds. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The pools were clean and not too crowded. We were hoping to be able to gaze at the stars but with it being monsoon season, that didn't happen. Maybe next time... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful hotel. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable! The staff was outstanding and very friendly. The pool was quiet and relaxing. A nice getaway. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Quite a beautiful location in the desert. The staff was very friendly and the check-in process was very fast. The restaurant was very nice as well with 5 star service as well. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Will definitely be going back for another visit soon!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in the desert"
I went with wife for a business convention and decided to stay in a non business resort. Best choice we could have made. Excellent facilities, very clean and organize with a superb staff. Will definetely stay there againGenuine Expedia guest review
"Rooms old and too western"
First room seemed like a cave with a view. They moved us to a better and the airconditioner did not work too well. The room was at 76 degrees after running the airconditioner for 6 hours. It finally cooled down around midnight. The were spiders in the first room and both rooms smelled like dust.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Truly outstanding. The resort golf course and grounds were like a botantical garden.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I had a wonderful stay at the resort. I enjoyed the restaurants on site. I spent several hours at the spa and it was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Weekend Stay"
Resort is really nice. Looks big on the map, but everything is a 2-3 minute walk. Resort fee covers fitness center, bell service, valet, etc. It was nice not having to tip every time you got your car from the valet, although it did feel weird! Spa was awesome, the locker rooms/changing rooms were great and well outfitted with different showers, saunas, […] etc. Even if you don't get a treatment it is still nice! Room was nice, bed comfortable, bathroom really spacious. I would def. recommend a stay here if you are in the area, totally worth it. Plenty of restaurants in the area, although, driving up there it doesn't seem like it. Starbucks a few mins away :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by The Boulders, A Waldorf Astoria Resort Dear Gail, Thank you for sharing your experience with Hotels.com. We are glad to hear that you had such a memorable stay with us, and that you were able to experience all we had to offer including our 33,000 square foot Waldorf Astoria Spa and our amazing staff. We hope to see you again soon!
Casitas were awesome. This is not a hotel room, and surroundings are breath taking. Service all around the property was flawless. Great job Boulders!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellence in the Desert"
The Boulders is a fantastic resort in the desert. Its just a few miles north of Scottsdale. The location is amazing. The resort is amazing. The staff is amazing. The grounds are amazing. The rooms are amazing. The spa is amazing. The pools are amazing. The customer service...its really AMAZING! Lets just say the place...its entirely amazing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The service was impeccable. The golf course is one of the best in Arizona. My dog felt right at home and the staff treated her like she was a celebrity...she had a doggie treat gift bag, food and water bowls and a bed provided by the resort. The pool was a little warm for my liking with the heat, it would have been more refreshing if it were a little […] cooler water. The room was a little dated, but still comfortable and clean. The scenery was spectacular and the air was much cooler here than in the city. Overall it was a fabulous stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"First Class Resort"
We came to The Boulders to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. Upon arrival, I asked for a different room to accommodate the all the girls in beds. They were kind enough to upgrade us to a three bedroom which was lovely. My daughter and her friends had a cancelled flight and were not able to arrive until the next day. I told this story to the bartender […] while waiting on the room change, and Randy was so nice to send bottle of wine to our room for her birthday with a sweet card apologizing for her delayed flight and wishing her a happy 21st. My husband and I had a great time over the weekend for a nice birthday getaway. The resort is very spaced out but the staff came to our casita with a shuttle to take us where ever we needed to go there. We saw tons of desert wildlife and the privacy was excellent. We would definitely go there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Heaven on earth"
This place is absolutely beautiful and amazing. It's a must visit destinationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We live in Scottsdale, so this was a 4th of July staycation for us. Beautiful location! Property well manicured. Service was phenomenal (with the exception of one pool hostess in particular...very combative). Liked the $30 resort fee that covered tips, valet, etc. Casitas had a very mysterious quality to them. I would never pay the $300-400 a night […] that this resort usually gets, but what an incredible getaway for $150/night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We booked a night at the Boulders last minute, as we were actually driving up to Sedona from Los Angles and needed a stop in the middle. We got an incredible deal on the room ($85!) and couldn't believe our luck when we arrived at the hotel. Our room got upgraded and they even left us a bottle of champagne and berries as a welcome gift. The grounds […] are phenomenal, full of wildlife (rabbits, javelinas, quail), and we felt instantly relaxed. If you are looking for utter R&R this is quite a place. The place felt deserted (it was off season), which was great. The spa is terrific too, and the pool there is generally quieter than the main one at the lodge. We loved this place so much that we booked another night at the tail end of our honeymoon, just to be able to soak up one more day there. I didn't quite get the same deal, but we got an even nicer room than the first time, so I couldn't be happier. Overall, amazing place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Needs a makeover"
The hotel is in a beautiful area and if you are seeking to be secluded, this is a great spot. My 2 downfalls are that the hotel seems to not have had a single piece of furniture update since it was first opened decades ago. Also the amenities are overpriced. My wife and I shared a single sandwich and water poolside with water and it was $30. Room rates […] are descent and I would stay again if the hotel was updated. "Birthday at the Bolders"
I don't think we've ever relaxed so much at a weekend stay at a hotel. It was only a couple of days, but it provided a much needed rest for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay at The Boulders. Our only regret was that we only stayed for one night. If we had more time we would have stayed for another night for sure. The service was great, we appreciated our golf clubs being taken out of our car and transferred to the golf club where they were stored and made available as needed. […] The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed walking around the property in the evening and morning, taking in the gorgeous landscape and abundance of wildlife. The room was well appointed and felt very private. We had a furnished patio that looked onto the 7th hole of the Boulders South course, and it was beautiful. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We really appreciated the fact that the daily resort fee included tips for service (minus food/beverage, and spa), so when you need a ride from your room to another area of the property, all it takes is a phone call, and a few minute wait, and your ride is there. For those who want to squeeze in a little bit of golf at the end of the day, there is a 4 hole deal after 6pm where you can get out and play a few holes before it gets dark for a great rate. We loved this! We also ate in the restaurant int the main lodge, the food was good and the service was great. We will return to The Boulders, but the next time we go, we will stay longer and enjoy the tennis facilities, the pool, and make sure to get a full round of golf in! "Experience the Bestvof the Sonoran Desert"
Simply driving through the resort grounds to Lodge for check-in is amazing with the lush desert all around. The architecture blends in so well with the scenery. The initial check-in was a little confusing for this first time visitor, and our room was not ready for another hour. The staff did treat us to free drinks at the lounge bar while we waited […] which was appreciated. We booked a Casita (approx 550 sq ft in the description) but we were upgraded to a Villa, a stand alone house (around 1400 sq ft) with all the amenities of home and a backyard with patio & grill and another view of thick Sonoran Desert foliage. I would highly recommend this arrangement for a vacationing family in north Scottsdale. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The famous Boulders didn't disappoint."
We had a brief one night staycation at the fabulous Boulders Resort in Carefree Arizona. Beautiful location among the giant boulders. This resort is large and is spread out over many acres due to its golf course intertwined thru out the property. Guests have to rely on bell hop shuttle drivers (golfcarts) to get around the massive resort. Especially […] in the summer months where walking the resort wouldnt be pleasant. "nice resort but bad management"
We decided to take a Stay-cation at this resort. When we arrived at the resort we were very impressed. Then we got to the room, it was beautiful but it was 90 degrees in the room. the bellman turned on the A/C and three hours later it was still 88 degrees. We requested help and 45 minutes later we were finally contacted by management with another room […] to move too. BIGGEST problem came next, they DOWNGRADED our room! Without even letting us know! I had to call and ask why we were downgraded. when I asked the management gave us a measly $50 resort credit. Very disappointed in the way our stay was managed. Had been in Phoenix for a 5 day conference and we wanted to get away to just talk strategy. Delightful place to do it. Relaxing, excellent accommodations, luxurious without being pretentious. Hiked in nearby Tonto National Forest and lunch in a local saloon in Cave Creek. Looking forward to a return visit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Stayed in a Villa. Awesome. Staff was very nice all the time. Food expensive but delicious. Grounds were very well maintained. Spa services were also great! No complaints, just high praise. Planning to return in October.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Everything I expected"
Great place to stay. Clean room, friendly staff, great location. Only caveat was that the pool by registration lodge really needed to be resurfaced-- it was stained badly. We did not go to the other pools. This did not prevent us from swimming! Very nice place. Would recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only problem was that we wished we had stayed longer! The grounds and casita were beautiful! Staff was very friendly and helpful, and we actually kind of liked the resort fee because that covered all tipping without there being any awkwardness.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We had a wonderful stay at the Boulders. The grounds are scenic and beautifully maintained. The rooms were elegant and extremely comfortable, and we all wanted to take our beds home, as it was like sleeping down pillows. Food was amazing and we ate twice at the resorts Spotted Donkey, which had great atmosphere. Mexican food and signature margaritas. […] Poolside service was great and the wraps and sandwiches were terrific. I was was treated to an 80 minute massage for Mothers Day which was amazing! The spa is nicely appointed with whirlpool, dry and wet saunas and a beautifully tranquil pool area separate from the main resort pool. "great but service"
For high end i was shocked with service issues. Check in took a long time and they quoted the wrong information. At check out they never accounted for my resort credit and over charged. They were unclear on what resort credit could then be used for. You need a golf cart to get everywhere and at one point our pick up was forgotten completely, we called […] back to no answer, then when finally reaching them we had to be switched from one cart to another. "Not as good as they used to be"
I came to a conclusion that every time Hilton buys a property, they royally mess it up. No more charm, great service, or food. We used to frequent Boulders back in the 90s to play golf and vacay. It was one of our favorite places as was La Quinta Resort in Palm Desert. Well both are now Waldorf Astoria properties and both have gone down the hill. Service […] is off, in-room dining is atrocious! Worst food in my life! Front desk, not well trained. Will not return to this hotel. "bad golf experience"
The hotel is beautiful and the Pueblo I was in was great. Unfortunately we ran into a problem that was not handled well. On the golf course we ran into a 5 person group that wouldn't let us thru so a 4 hour round turned into a 5 hour + round. We called the pro shop and spoke to a very nice assistant but no help was forthcoming and no offer of compensation […] for this was offered. As a business I would have gone out of my way to make up for messing up an expensive round of golf. Maybe I am sour grapes over missing my next tee time but nevertheless they should have at least offered a discount. Bad PR. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Treat yourself to the spa, it is wonderful. If you plan on hanging out at the pool get there early....there are not many lounge chairs. The spa pool is better than the main one.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room was beautiful - the nicest of four hotel stays for that particular vacation. Our spacious casita and its wooded deck were private, but located inconveniently as far from the main lodge as possible on a rather large property. I worried less about gaining weight on the trip because I was doing a lot of walking to the lodge and its pool and back. […] The lodge pool was not clean - there was scum floating in one corner and pieces of food floating here and there and lots of children in swim diapers. We were located near the spa and its pool but my eleven year old daughter wasn't allowed to swim in that pool since she wasn't 18. We made other plans the last day so we didn't have to use the pool.
