The past 2 years I have stayed there for an event happending nearby. Both times there were extremely loud guests in and out of rooms. I've stayed in lots of hotels and this one seems to have the worst noise control. Not sure if the walls are paper thin or what the deal is. Doors do not shut queitly. The seem to slam shut!

This hotel was more than what I expected. The best part about it was it was located within walking distance of the concert we went to. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and tastefully decorated. We went to the restaurant connected to the hotel and it was excellent. I definitely recommend it!

Easy to find off highway. Included use of health club. Computer room with printers. Parking was convenient. Comfy/Clean room. Small mistake at check-in, assigned a room already occupied? Quickly resolved. Would stay again.

Nice Location, Customer service not so good.She acted rushed and bothered when checking me in. And when I asked for the Loop brochure she once again acted like I was a bother, Very dirty room,Especially bathroom, gross hairs all over floor. Windows let tons of cold air in so I was freezing.

Wallpaper was peeling away from the walls at the base, and walls looked to be blistered, like they had drawn moisture. The room air system didn't work very well (in a cooling mode). Executive level was nothing special except you had to have a key card to get to that floor otherwise very basic rooms. Not the best bargain in the world but it was New Year's Eve.

The receptionist was very friendly and efficient. This hotel has a great lobby waiting area. We were on the seventh floor where you could have had a reception/party in a very inviting area. We enjoy this hotel as we follow our high school basketball team. It is close to restaurants and to the high school. It is excellent value.

I booked due to it being close to the I wireless center and them having a shuttle to and from the concert. But when we got there the neighborhood was beyond scary my mom tripped over liqueur bottles as we got out of the car. There was hardly any parking and we were afraid to leave anything in our car. I understand there were homeless people but there […] were more than homeless loitering right where we had to go in. If I hadn't prepaid for the reservation we would have drive the 4 hours home. I went in and checked in the woman at the from desk was rude and was more worried about chatting with her co workers than checking me in. She didn't explain anything and said good luck finding a parking spot and if you can't find one you have parking passes for the garage across the street. Luckily we found one because I wasn't parking near there. When I called they said the shuttle picked and dropped off l. Well when we arrived they said the shuttle stopped before the concert was even over. So we had to ride a loop bus home which wasn't terrible but Waited 20 mins in the cold and a half hour ride for not even 3 blocks. As we rode the elevator which sounded terrible rocked shaked and dropped to the next floor so fast your stomach Hurt and I hate elevator I wanted to take the stair so I did without a friend leaving my side we were to scared too. I checked in late, and I was received with a bag of goodies for being a Priority Club member. I was also given a $10.00 off coupon for breakfast, which made it free. The only inconvenience in this hotel is that parking at the hotel is limited and I had to park in a public parking lot across the street. They gave me a free parking coupon though.

Do not stay in this hotel for multiple reasons: 1. The hotel has substantial deferred maintenance. Our room was on the fifth floor. The carpets in the hallway were dirty, there was poorly painted out graffiti on the doors of the various rooms, and the door to the room itself was not locked when we went to it (you need to almost slam the door for it […] to shut). 2. While the room itself wasn't too bad, it had definitely seen its better day and was not a good value. 3. We paid extra for the breakfast package but the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel would not accept the coupon for the meals and the hotel said they would only give 50 cents on the dollar for the value of the coupon. (I am still waiting for the credit to appear on my credit card.) 4. The area of the hotel is dicey at best. Unless you absolutely need to stay in Rock Island, select a hotel in Davenport along the I-80 -- much safer area. Read more

This is an older hotel in the heart of Rock Island. We stayed here before an orientation at Augustana College. The lobby is beautiful. Unfortunately the desk attendant took a phone call just as he started assisting me and proceeded to have an 8 minute conversation while I was just standing there. The customer at the desk should be a priority over the […] one on the phone. The hallways are a little eerie with a weird shade of green paint. The room was clean and everything, but our air conditioner didn't work. In fact, it was so old the dials no longer had writing on them. You couldn't tell if it was on air or heat, high or low, etc. If it was on A/C, it didn't feel like it. Parking was somewhat daunting, Not enough Handicap parking and parking lot was full so we had to park next door in a parking garage. Hotel could use a definite update. Air conditioning didn't work well - room smelled musty and it was warm and humid. Location was only real advantage as it was within walking distance of our destination. Parking was a pain & even the hotel's restaurant (Bennigan's) felt dirty and smelled of the river.

room was dated and shabby though reasonably clean , a/c barely worked, refrigerator and micro stuck on an end table in the middle of the room, parking and drop-off situation really bad and as I was walking down the hall, a mouse ran in front of me. Definitely not worth the fairly steep price.

Pool area was not very inviting. Unpainted concrete surrounding pool and it was cold in the area. No towels. Neighborhood was not very inviting. This is the biggest downfall. Because it's the only hotel downtown. It's a good place - clean, comfortable, safe and convenient if you want to be close to the Fort Armstrong Senior residence. The indoor pool was closed for maintenance. That was a primary reason for choosing this venue. I was disappointed that the Holiday Inn didn't have an alternative swimming site identified. My wife needs the swimming facility for health reasons.

Six of us went there for a baseball game/guys weekend. Great location right near downtown bar district. At least 10 bars within a five block walk/stumble. If you want a good value and happening scene in the Quad Cities, the R.I. Holiday Inn is the place to be.

Overall I wish we'd stayed somewhere else and I definitely would not recommend this hotel. The main parking lot is tiny. The staff said we could park in the parking garage across the street but they appeared to be by permit only; luckily no tickets! The upkeep of the old building & rooms are ok...not too clean, not too dirty. The staff offered no resolution […] for the fact that it was 85 degrees in our room and they were still set on "heat" for the winter in mid-April. The windows did open but it was extremely humid outside so it did not help. I could not believe they were unwilling to switch the main unit to air or provide fans. I was put into a room after a long day and I needed a hot shower in a timely fashion in order to meet friends for dinner. I came into the room, unpacked some of my stuff and started the shower. I returned with my shower kit and waited 5 mintues but got nothing but freezing water. After almost 10 minutes I called the front desk and asked for a room with […] hot water. They agreed to send maintenance?? Irritated, I got dressed and waited for the maintenance who came promptly only to stick his hand in the shower to confirm it was cold and then proceed to tell me they have known this shower has worked in weeks but they can't get ahold of the "tenant" next door to gain access?????????? 15 minutes later, maintenance returns with a key to another room down the hall. I have had 3 or 4 bad experiences at this place and despite being super convenient to downtown Rock Island, I am done! The hotel is in an up-and-coming area, but there is a far way to go. It didn't feel safe, there was little clean, green areas arround the hotel, and the hotel itself feels dirty and unkept.
