I have stayed at many Radissons and generally consider them a modestly upscale property. The Radisson Rochester, while in a convenient location downtown, is not up to their normal standards. The rooms and particularly bathrooms were very small. On my floor the ice machine was out of order. In our room, the entry light was out, the bathroom faucet worked […] poorly and sprayed water all over and the HVAC system was noisy. It generally seemed poorly maintained. Also, the location is across the street from the convention center and can be quite noisy late into the night, even from the 10th floor. Parking it the garage is also quite a challenge. Expect door dings. A better choice is the Hyatt across the street. Read more

I was told by hotel.com that the room would have a jacuzzi and I requested one king size bed. I received a room with 2 queen sized beds and no jacuzzi because apparently the hotel doesn't have jacuzzi rooms. The lobby was very nice, but once we got off the elevators the hallways looked dirty and the comforter on one of the queen beds was filthy. Hotel was great. Not 5-star royalty, but great. Parking ramp is very low clearance so heads up on that if you have a large vehicle. The beds were the most comfortable hotel beds ever!! Loved that! Hotel was difficult to locate on the dark rainy night that I arrived. Signage could be much improved. Hotel itself was more than acceptable and the kitchen does a great job; food and service was very good.

It was not a cheap room. I didn't get the room I paid for. I booked a room with a fridge and microwave but didn't have one. At 2:30 in the morning people were having a party in the hall outside our room. We called security but once they left the party was back on.

Hotel is older but was relatively clean and well cared for. Restaurant was rather loud and more of a bar than restaurant. Only complaint was the temperature in the room. It was either too hot or too cold. Could not regulate the thermostat to create steady state. Breakfast on time and hot. I would stay again.

The Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside was a good experience as I found it a very nice stay with extremely friendly staff who called in to check in on me (I suspect others had been complaining about some party crowds there for the "Ugly Disco" over at the convention center), which I greatly appreciated. Will definitely stay there in the future.

I stayed there 2 nights. First night the toilet waas flushing on its own every 20 mins. or so. Second night there was literally a party on my floor. Called front desk twicw to complain. Nothing. The hotel was perfect for our stay. We went to a concert at Blue Cross Arena. We were told it is a 10-15 minutes walk but actually it was 4-5 minutes. Very nice and convenient. One complaint or suggestion to the General Manager: I wish I had the money that was NOT made at the Bar/ Rest known as Legend. There was no food service after the concert and […] the bar was 7 deep and only 2 bartenders on duty and they had their hands full. A few cocktail waitresses could have made some serious cash. Also there were several groups looking for food after the concert. The loss of bar food "eats" had to been huge as well. Papa John's pizza delivery made a killing though. I think the woman who checked us in was new because she had all of my info wrong and couldn't figure it out - I actually had to hand her my phone with the confirmation email up for her to see. She had to call a manager over to help her who knew the correct answer right away. Then we got sent to the wrong room. They were very nice about getting us into […] the correct room and even brought the new keys up to us. The room they moved us to had a great view of the river but the shower was dirty with the last person's hair and the drain didn't work great so there was standing water. When we went to the bar and ordered a pizza, they told us 40 minutes. We actually had to end up leaving without it after waiting an hour because they hadn't even put it in yet and we had to be somewhere. They gave us a tiny pizza instead because it cooks faster but it tasted horrible. The bartender was great and made it right with us but still frustrating. First and foremost, I just want to say that the room was awesome. It was clean, comfortable, and a pretty cool view of the river (I was on the 15th floor). The food from food service was quick and tasted good. However, the service at the front desk was not the greatest. I had called down at 6:30 for a cab to pick me up at 7:15. The cab never showed […] up (turns out the lady that called for the cab was not clear with the cab company, as they thought she said 7:50 rather than 7:15). I tried to talk to the people at the desk when the cab didn't show up and they were not very helpful. If they were talking to me and the phone rang, they picked up the phone and helped that person for a few minutes before coming back to me. Each time I spoke with them the phone rang at least three separate times. I know that story was a little long, but I wanted to get that across. There were a few little things, ordered room service and they forgot my silverware, I had to extend my stay due to a flight cancellation, which appeared to not be a problem but my keycards stopped working on my original departion date, also we asked for a delayed checkout because of weather etc.. yet someone was knocking […] on the door at checkout time wanting to know why we were still there. We were two perspective students auditioning as incoming freshmen, and the Radisson provided free shuttle service to the school. It was great. The bathroom smelled, the toilet would sometimes run in the night, and the heater was really loud, but otherwise a comfortable and very convenient stay.

When I come to a hotel I expect the staff to know what they are doing. I'm trying to get the room I booked. And they don't have it. I booked the hotel days before. Called when in was an hour away. And everything was good. But when I get there. Not so much. When your at the counter its like a game with the front desk. You want a river view room king […] size bed with microwave and fridge. You can here people asking for the something and other people are getting them and your agent is telling you there is non. Like I said. A game. So I take a river view with two queens and no microwave and fridge. We get in the room and its a view of the nasty winterized pool. I walk right back to the counter. That isn't going to work. The manager comes to help. I give them my name and he says there she is. Yes she has a 12th floor room river view king with a microwave and fridge. Excuse me! I went through all of that to find out that yes I do have a room. You mean the one I pre booked? It's a game. The restaurant is just as awful! This place needs new management. Also they need to think about getting valley parking and they need to know more information on the complimentary shuttle services. Cause if you ask. They don't know. Sometimes it is the small things. I love that they had washer & dryer but one of the dryers was broken and they neglected to put up a sign even after a few of us had reported it.... so annoying! The manager refunded one guy for all of his lost coins but he still should have labeled the machine as broken so it didn't happen to other guests. The stay was good excellent service a bit on the expensive side I mean $15 for some poorly made eggs no good. Had some issues with the radio and telephone but nothing big. If you are looking for a good nights rest this hotel is it, but other than that not much else.
