The staff is not aware of customers needs. We had an employee at midnight check on our room without iknocking and never did return after finding out the chain was in place. Scary!! We had stayed there previously and now know that they discontinued the breakfast. Big disappointment. Won't be staying there again

the hotel is a very old hotel, so wasn't expecting a lot. Knew we wouldn't be there much so that was good. The hotel had a "smell" to it that is hard to get rid of. The lobby was full of family members always, made you feel a bit uncomfortable anytime you came or went from hotel. The beds were not very comfortable. The place was not dirty -- but it wasn't real clean either. I will pay more somewhere else next time

The pool is not open and the vending machines are out of orser and no ice machines and pizza hut is not allowed to deliver there! If the pool was working then it would have been worth the money. Really upset me when I got there and paid and they said the pool was not running because "they had to keep their rates cheap".

It was exactly what I would expect from a $45 motel. Ac only in the room. No amenities. Hasn't been updated got 20+ years but still functional and as clean as can be expected (has been cleaned but still looks old/well used and no bug). Checkin/out was quick and easy. This wasn't a place I would take a family or even my wife but when traveling alone to Omaha I would use them again.

The good: 12oz cokes were only $1, cheapest rates in the area, hot water worked great in sink and shower, great nearby restaurants and Walmart, free wi-fi, refrigerator and A/C worked great. The bad: phone by the bed didn't work and the one on the desk took pushing several buttons to get a dial tone. Dialed the office three times and only got an answer once. We slept in one day, called down to get room service around noon and were told housekeeping had left for the day so the only thing available to us was to come down and get some more towels. Found ants on the bathrooom floor. The front parking lot was full so we pulled around back only to find that the back doors had signs saying they were "Exit Only." Fortunately for us, one of the doors wasn't latched so we were able to get in anyway. Owners/managers appeared to be of Indian (from India) descent and had no personality, no smiles, business only. The clothes iron never heated up and dripped water all over everywhere. The ironing board screeched loud enough to wake the dead upon opening it. The bedsheets and blankets seemed to be very old and broken down. The towels were good for exfoliation if that's what you wanted them for. Bottom line: stay elsewhere - it'll be well worth it. This place needs a major upgrade and renovation and needs to get some amenities back in place for their guests.

The only reason to stay at this hotel is if you're hard up and need something cheap and close to the highway. Overall it's run down needs lots of repairs. A truly no frills hotel and not in a good way. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Just needed a place close to work area for a night. Room was clean, old TV but adequate. Older property and it shows. Here is what I liked. A good big shower head and water pressure. Bed was decent and no noises. But it was on a Sunday night. Refrigerator and micro in room. Coffee downstairs free.

Booking this hotel you defiantly get what you pay for. I was able to book this hotel for $60 including taxes and I don’t think it was worth that. It was as hot in the lobby and hallways as it was outdoors. Which is expected when all the doors and windows were open. It was shown that the hotel had a pool as well as continental breakfast. When I checked in there was a sign on the counter that said they were no longer able to offer those amenities. That was part of the reason I booked it. The Room: When we walked into our room it was hot and musty. It was 94 degrees outside and probably 85 degrees in our room. I turned the AC on and prayed it cooled down soon. We were only given three towels and one wash cloth. The mat in the bottom of the tub was coming up and when my kids took a bath there was white stuff floating in the tub that came from under the mat. Water pressure come out of tub was fine but put on the shower and good luck rinsing your hair with only a trickle of water. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. I will not be booking at Carol Hotel again.

This hotel from all appearances was once a great facility. In recent years it has fallen to need of repair. Pool and breakfast have been discontinued to cut cost. Halls have not been cleaned in a log time as carpets were dirty and lots of cobwebs along ceiling. Room was adequately cleaned and bed comfortable. Bathroom had significant damage to tub/shower (faucet and tiles pulled out of place). Stay was quiet and slept well.

They don't still include continental breakfast or the indoor pool, but they don't tell you that till you get there. Rooms are uncomfortable and run down but if you're wanting a cheap stay then this suits your needs.

THis is obviously and older hotel in need of many reapirs and upgrades. Pool is not open, no complementary breakfast of any kind. Room smelled like wierd cleaning products, carpet was old and disgusting, fridge had a smell and got on my pop bottle that I left in it overnight and had to wash it to be able to drink it. TV was junk and hurt my eyes to watch, colors were off and looked like it should be watched with 3D glasses. Remote had no back to it. TV had broken buttons. Desk chair was a normal hard back chair and not pleasant to sit in. Mismatched pillow, one really small and one bigger, not in great shape. The smell of the cleaning products or whatever was in there to maybe mask the smoking was overpowering and gave me a headache just breathing it all in. Considered a few times leaving and going to find another place to stay but it was late and just figured I would get it over with. Should have left.

Although the pool and hot tub were out of service and were looking kind of scummy, I didn't stay at the Carol to play at the hotel. I used it as a base for a convention and paid half the price I would have if I had stayed on site. This is a bare bones type hotel that is easy to find and easy to use if you aren't looking for a lot of extras. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the fixtures sparkling. So, I will stay here again when I return to Omaha should the location for my next convention adventure in Omaha be close to this hotel.

Dirty, wifi didn't work, TV remote didn't work, phone didn't work, exposed board with nails at head board, pool out of order, no breakfast.......terrible place. I couldn't stay. Had to go to a better place. They are still trying to charge me even though I didn't stay. The Carol Hotel shouldn't be recommended to unsuspecting customers.

Vacationer beware, they falsely advertise breakfast, but offer none. They take advantage of offering services they don't provide. They lie about what they advertise and and say hotels.com will not remove misleading info. Elevator is rickety and no certification is displayed. They post signs that the pool and breakfast had recently been taken away but they have not provided these amenities for years. Management is not good. If u are ok getting ripped off and like to feel uncomfortable with the hotel staff watching your every move, ( they wander around and watch u) then u will be fine. The beds were fine. The false advertising really turned us off.

Pretty dirty hotel..comforter was all stained up...pull out couch was full of crumbs and crackers when I opened it for my son. The rooms window for some reason had been left open and the window itself was broken. Also six floors and only one working ice machine

Property looks OK from outside but head inside and you can tell it is in a state of rapid decline. We were rudely greeted at the front desk. The pool was closed, breakfast had been discontinued the day we arrived, and people hung out in stairways. Good price though if you just want a bed for the night.

Trying to go for the most inexpensive night's stay left me a little disappointed because I usually stay at the large chain hotels. Thus being said, I still had my moneys worth...a clean room and a hot shower in the morning. The basics were there, a few issues with the elevators and no air conditioning in the hallways were a let down. The staff were basic check in and check out quick/easy, the housekeeper on my floor in the morning was working hard and I thanked her for a clean room. Just know what you are getting for the price...there are zero amenities and no breakfast as of the 25th of July. For a basic room and to sleep and shower it is fine.

The rooms "seemed" to be clean upon entry but with closer inspection there was a powder behind the headboards of both beds! Popcorn kernels all over the floor, papers inside the pullout bed, a busted lamp and the alarm clock didn't work! Upon booking my room it stated it offered a complimentary breakfast, upon arrival there was a not stating that as of the next day this wasn't the case! The security of the building was non exsistant, definitely pay more and stay somewhere else!

Checked out after one day because of condition of room, soiled carpets in hall and room, clogged lavatory drain, stained furniture, missing tiles in bathroom to name a few. Part of hotel was closed off. Advertised services (fitness room and swimming pool) unavailable. Breakfast substandard - only cereal, toast and one pot of coffee functional.

This place looks like a neglected clarion hotel. In fact, they call it the carol inn because they could use the same letters on the side of the building . Badly needs a good paint job, maybe buy some towels. Old old carpet and toilets were older.

I spent about $50 per night for a room with a king bed and an additional sofa bed. Bathroom and bed was clean. It's an old Clarion hotel. Rooms are specious, but old. drawer handles are broken and it had an old CRT TV. When I travel for work and stay at places like Sheraton the rooms with the same size and modern amenities are around $200-300 per night. Considering that, this place is a good return for your money. On expedia they have a spa, pool and an exercise facility listed, but they were all closed. (didn't bother me since I never use those). Also on expedia they mentioned that they provide hot breakfast, but that was not the case. They had frozen waffles, bagels and a toaster available. (It worked for me since you can't expect much for $50) Finally what I can say is most reviews are not realistic. For $50 per night you get a good, clean place to crash for the night. If you spend more you might find better hotels. This is not the place for your honeymoon, it's just a place to crash when you are on the road.

It's the cheapest stay in town for a reason. My room stank like bleach so heavily that it made it hard to breath. The toilet seat wasn't the right size for the bowl so when I sat on it... not good. On the plus side, there was a fridge and microwave in the room, the sheets were clean, bed was firm and the clerk was nice enough. I'll probably go with a Super 8 next time though..

After reading previous reviews, I was skeptical about staying here, but the location and the price was right. the room was a bit dark, but the furniture has been updated, the chair at the desk was stained however. the soap was still in the dish from previous cutomers but the bathroom looked clean and the towels were clean. The bed was fine. I just don't sleep well away from home.

This place is a dump. There were some good, bad and ugly aspects I would like to point out though: The GOOD - It is cheap! The cost of the room is about 2/3rd of the next available hotel. The location is good. It is close to highways, stores, restaurants and businesses. They accept pets. The BAD: Nothing works!!! The pool and exercise rooms are closed; The elevators are dark and haunting; The breakfast is nothing to write home about even though it is "free" and you cannot take the food out of the self-serving location (I would not dare call that a restaurant). There is only 1 ice machine in the entire building that works; The vending machine does not work; The carpets are old, dirty and smell of mildew; The whole hotel is dark; They leave equipment like unattended ladders in front of the building that look like an accident ready to happen. That is just to name a few things that are bad The UGLY: The staff doesn't give a darn if you are a happy customer or not. Their customer service acumen is non-existent. The owner sits behind the front desk looking half asleep and unapproachable. There was a young family that checked in and immediately checked out because they were so disgusted at the filth. The interior looks rundown and they don't seem to care. In summary, the place was cheap. I was on a razor thin budget and this place was affordable. In retrospect, I would have paid the extra money a night and stayed somewhere else.

This hotel meet its needs - place to sleep before traveling West. The check in person was not very knowledgable of the surrounding area and room looked old, but bed was nice and room was clean.

This hotel was like stepping back into the early 90s. Everything is old and barely works. Staff is inattentive, breakfast is terrible and amenities do not work.
