"Good for business"
12/12/14 MKroehler Saint Augustine, FL
As a Marriott Rewards member, I generally choose Marriott properties for my travels. With that said, this location was very suitable for my needs. Easy to get in and out of the property. All the staff were very pleasant. The room that I stayed in (Room 116) appeared to be clean and well maintained. The Wi-Fi connection worked without issue and the fridge and TV were functional. For just me, the room was plenty large enough. However, four people staying there may have been a bit cramped. My only complaint with my stay was during the complementary breakfast. This is the only Fairfield I've stayed at where someone wasn't on-hand in the kitchen/dining area AT ALL TIMES, to refill the food and coffee during the breakfast. While the food was good, you might have to wait a few minutes for the coffee canister to be refilled or a fresh batch of eggs. It probably didn't help that a large number of students attending a truck driving school were staying there, but that's really no excuse...
"Adequate Hotel but climate control doesn't work well."

The hotel is clean. The beds are a little on the firm side. The pillows are absolutely lousy. They look fluffy at first but hold no weight. The breakfast is good. I don't like their eggs but they have some good alternatives. The staff for the most part are friendly but there is an older gentle man that works over night who seems to not care at all. no welcome or acknowledgement at all when I came to check. in. I have stayed at the hotel multiple times so I know he is not the norm. The AC units in the rooms appear to be cheap and have lousy air flow or some other issue. These units will not cool the room off very well. Even with only a sheet on I would wake up warm. After my second stay at this hotel I brought my own digital thermometer gun. The air blowing out of the unit was about 68 degrees. Which explains why the room never really cooled off. I have tried other rooms and none seem to cool off well. In addition to the AC not cooling off the room the AC units are loud and run continuously. I will be staying at another property from now on when I travel to the Las Colinas area.
Older but very clean! The employees were very nice and helpful. Very convenient location to the malls in the area and only about 15 to 20 min drive to Six Flags. We will stay here again sometime. My only complaint is that the maids start cleaning eary. A vacuum in the room next door woke us up at 7:30 am.
"Reasonable Weekend Stay"
11/22/14 IrishKevin617 Quincy, Massachusetts
Stopped by many midpriced hotels along the John Carpenter Frwy (as there are quite a few), took the quick tour for amneities which included any gym, pool, free wifi service, free breakfast, and free parking. The best I could find for the right AAA price was the Fairfield Inn & Suites at 630 W. John Carpenter Frwy (not to be confused with the other one at 4800 W. J.C. Frwy). Greeted by friendly staff upon arrival. They treat you to free coffee 24/7 and free cookies until they are gone. Room was clean and adequate with desk for laptop. Pool was small but good for a quick swim. Gym was on the very small size with no weights just cardio. Weekend prices are great for amenities, but during business week Sun. - Thurs. they go up quite considerably, that's when I bail out and go to less expensive hotels.
"nice, clean hotel"
11/04/14 Paco P San Antonio, Texas
Stayed here for 7 days during October 2014. Rooms are spacious, clean and include a small refrigerator. AC worked well, a little to well I had to adjust the "cold" up a few times. Nice HD television with a wide selection of channels including the NFL Network and HBO. The Rodizio Grill, Brazilian style steak house, and FM Smokehouse (BBQ) are both within a short walking distance. If you are a Marriott Rewards member, you may have to inquire with the front desk about the benefits for your specific level - none were extended or offered during my stay. If these benefits are important to you, this may not be a property for you.
"Near convention center, nice for the price"

We stayed here Oct 17-19 for Dallas Fan Days at the Irving Convention Center. The hotel is located only 5 minute away (driving). It's right off the freeway. We had a King room which was smaller than I am used to but it was well appointed with a desk, fridge, and chair. The A/C is the old school swamp cooler but it kept the room cold and provided white noise. The tub was a little strange, it was very curved inward toward the middle so you have to stand awkwardly to be comfortable. I am assuming this to keep water from overflowing. The free breakfast was great. They had waffles, biscuits & gravy, fruit, yogurt, eggs, sausage, pop tarts, cereal, milk, juices, boiled eggs, oatmeal. The room they serve it in is way packed with tables and really hard to move around when it's busy. We had a soccer team both mornings and it was impossible to get a waffle or really eat anything other than cereal. The hotel is right next door to Table & Tavern which is an Italian restaurant (it was good!). We will probably stay here in the future for the next convention.
"Price Location Worked for Us"
10/11/14 Eddie S Miami, Florida
Stayed here to visit my son in collage. Close to him and that makes it easy. Check in was fast and good, asked for extra pillows and promptly received them. Did not use any of the amenities, so sorry cannot comment. Room did have an over perfumed smell. Does go away with air on, but when you first walk in you go HEY. Also ask for a room not facing highway. NOISE is loud, believe me. Room was clean and bed was acceptable. TV’s worked good and WIFI was free and fast. I LOVE FREE FAST WIFI. Yes I would stay here again, for the PRICE and the location it works for me.

I was in town for an interview and got a pretty good deal from hotels.com for about $74/night. The location is great and near the freeways, good shopping, restaurants, etc. For starters, prior to arriving, I called to reconfirm booking details, payment method etc. I was told by the front desk agent if I use a credit card , it would not be charged until checkout, and if I paid with a debit card , it would be a $20 deposit per night for damages etc which would be refunded at checkout. So I gave her my CREDIT card and they tried to charge the account in full. I advised her that was not was I was told so I ended up paying in cash , no additional fees or deposits, which was my intent in the first place. My room was another story...as soon as I walked in , there was a lingering smell of mildew and dampness. The bathroom had a weird smell the entire time, and the only way the room would not smell was by having the air conditioner on. So after spraying perfume and freezing, I dealt with it unfortunately. On top of that, they put me in a handicap access room which means the bathroom had no tub just a stand up shower where water sprayed everywhere because there was nothing but a shower curtain ...1/2 length...over the shower. The best thing about my stay was the flat screen, the lamps, and the bed which was amazingly comfortable...other than that, my next stay will be somewhere else.....
"Thoroughly Above Average"

While the parking lot isn't huge, this Fairfield does many things right. I emphasize: 1) Solid WiFi, if not the fastest in the world, is complimentary for all guests. 2) Ample copies of USA Today in the lobby. 3) Solid television channel selection, including A&E, which too many hotels don't find important. 4) Breakfast selection, while not huge, is above average, especially the breads and baked goods. 5) Crew operating the breakfast area hustle to keep things clean and stocked, especially during peak demand. As an aside, I loathe hotels which think that business travelers see no difference between breakfast which begins at 6:30 versus 6:00. Well, I eat before I hop in the shower and when I'm on a business trip, I must be dry, shaven, dressed and out the door by 7:30. A 6:30 start for breakfast won't cut it. Fortunately, the Fairfield Las Colinas grasps this vital aspect of business travel and has breakfast ready for early risers at 6. Given the choice, I'd stay here again without compunction.

I stayed here for one night recently at the end of a business trip and before a morning flight out of DFW. Close to the airport and a WAY better option than the place nearby that I stayed at previously. I could hear the freeway noise from my room in the front, but it was not too loud and sounded like white noise so it didn't bother me. Clean and comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There are a couple of restaurants for dinner options within walking distance. The breakfast area is a little small and was pretty crowded when I left in the morning, but I was still able to grab a quick bite before my trip to the airport. I will definitely choose this location on my next trip out of DFW.
