The room was clean and comfortable. It was very close, walking distance, to the sites I wanted to see; the Historic dockyard. The hotel was in a nice neighbor hood and there were resteraunts within walking distance. The hotel also offered a very good movie on demand service and wifi, which you had to pay for, and it was quite expensive. The shaver outlet in my room did not work so I was forced to buy, from the hotel, an outlet adaptor to charge my cell phone. this was irritating, but not insurmountable as the adaptor should be useful in the future. Absolutely horrible rude staff. Even with a do not disturb sign on the door the maid walked into our room at 8 am without knocking and was mouthy and disrespectful to us because we were in her way. The carpets weren't vacuumed and the tub and toilet weren't clean when we checked in. Breakfast buffet worth the money. Bit disappointed with the lounge area...not cosy for a quick drink prior to retiring to your room. But overall a perfectly adequate hotel.

Positive = Decaf coffee as well as ordinary. A choice of soft and firm pillows on my bed. Bubble bath in the bathroom. All contributed to make my stay a nice one :-) Negative = wi-fi had to be paid extra for :-(

Good central location for Southsea, Portsmouth, Gun Wharf Quays and the Historic Docks. Good hotel for winter as the pool, gym and bar area are all very useful when it's wet and windy along the coast.... Would recommend it for a weekend stay.

My check in was dealt with quickly but I was not given much information on the facilities. The building was well maintained and clean. My room was lovely, very clean, a fair size with everything I needed and more (eg an ironing board and iron). My check out was easy and quick. I have no complaints with this hotel.

We stayed on Saturday for my boyfriends Birthday & it was perfect! it was a perfect location on 10 minutes walk to Gunwharf Centre. It was very clean, staff were really freindly & it was very easy to park. All in all it was a great stay & we will definatly be returning.

The hotel provided an ideal base for easy access to Old Portsmouth, Gunwharf Quay, Southsea and other areas. Whils not massive the pool provided sufficient space to enjoy some gentle exercise and relaxation at the end of the day.

We had booked a double room and were surprised to find a (small) queen size bed in the room that didn't even fill the bedframe... When asking the reception if it was a double room the response was somewhat abrupt and unhelpful simply saying “Yes and all beds are the same - even luxury rooms”. Duty Manager was very kind but simply confirmed this fact […] and also seemed surprised to validate that the bed was smaller than the size of the bedframe. The hotel has a good location and has a fairly good range of amenities and pleasant staff but the rooms would benefit from further investment, in particular bigger bathrooms. It is a pity there are no fridges in the rooms.

Everything was lovely and clean, the swiimming pool was brilliant, the staff very helpful and knowledgeable and the breakfast was amazing. It is cheaper to book your breakfast the night before and it is well worth the money and children eat free!

This was our first visit to a Holiday Inn - on a recommendation - and we were very pleasantly surprised. The location was good, the room very comfortable and the staff very polite and helpful. Although we may not need to go to Portsmouth in the near future we would certainly stay at Holiday Inns again and would definitely recommend this one.

Ideal for a weekend in the city, close to the sea and the shops but in a quiet area with no noise. Good car park and very friendly, helpful staff. Asked and received a sea view room which was ideal and comfortable. Used the bar - OK, didn't use restaurant or spa but the latter looked clean and inviting - just ran out of time.

Nous avons passé un week-end dans cet hôtel, et ne sommes pas déçus du tout ! Piscine, Hammam, Sauna, Jacuzzi ... un petit déjeuner très copieux, un lit très très confortable ... Le seul bémol serait le mitigeur de la douche...mais bon, on est en Angleterre, les mitigeurs au robinet, c'est pas encore complètement démocratisé !
