Everything was mostly great. Not having transportation meant having to walk to the bus stop and then back to the hotel. The buses from Canterbury don't run to Whitfield late at night which meant a minimum 15min walk back to the hotel if I wanted to stay in Canterbury after 8 or 9pm. Nothing particularly special about the hotel. It does cater a lot to the local businesses so has a tent out the back for them and that causes some parking and view issues. Also seem to be lacking in staff as no one at reception and costa coffee.

This was not really in Dover, but in Whitefield. Not close for walking into downtown of Dover. Not even posible,no sidewalks. Disapointing in that respect.. Since we had been to Dover in 2009 on a cruise day we decided to just walk around the local neighborhoods. We discovered a McDonalds near by and a Tesco store. problems with room lighting. Hotel offers Free WiFi - Good, BUT, electrical receptacles would not accept universal european adapter. Hotel did not have any adapters available. Simple omission, but poor concern for the customer.

Great hotel, very friendly staff, very nice rooms. Doubles for a family of four are hard to find anywhere in Europe. Also a nice pub a short walk away, and the best fish-n-chips anywhere, next door to the pub.

Our stay involved 2 different periods of time. The first time everything was acceptable. The electrical outlets in the bathroom did not accept 110 volt US style plugs. The second stay was less than acceptable. The computer system available for customer use did not allow me to access the airline for ticket confirmation, the staff was able to accomplish […] this. The resteraunt was unacceptable. We went to have supper, they had a private party going and had used almost all of the weight staff for that. We ordered soups and appatisers, my soup was delivered but not my wife's. We finally left and told them to bill me for the 1 soup I had eaten. When I received the bill I noticed that I had been billed double, this was brought to the attention of the morning desk manager who discussed it with the restruant manager, I was still billed 1.5 Pounds. The hotel was very well situated and close to the cruise ship port. The rooms are small but very comfortable. The hotel has everything that one might need. There is even a McDonald's within a 5 minute walking distance from the hotel. The location is also nice. I would definitely stay at this hotel on a future stay at Dover.

Check in was awesome.. The hotel is very nice. We had no problems just there for one night to catch a cruise ship. Very accomidating. We wish we had stayed a little closer to the terminal, but the money we saved made up for the taxi cost. There is a great little indian restaurant behind it on the main street.

My wife and I had a better room and a large bed which was very comfortable and the hotel was quietly situated. The table lamp didn't work and couldn't be repaired but our room was changed without fuss.. Breakfast was VERY expensive so, after the first morning of three, we just had coffee and a pastry in the lounge. Quality of dinner was excellent.

We spent the night here before our early morning ferry journey to France. I didn't realise quite how far out of town we would be or that there was not much else in the vacinity. As we didn't want to spend all of the evening in the hotel and were informed there was now here to walk to nearby we had to get a taxi into Dover......(which was a disappointment […] in itself). Next morning we did pass a pub which was within walking distance of the hotel and had the staff told us about it we would have been more likely to have stayed round the area to eat and drink. The staff from the front desk through the dining room and housekeeping were most welcoming and accommodating without being intrusive. We enjoyed the welcome we received and the helpful "can do" attitude to where we should securely park the trailer we were towing. This was an overnight stay from the Ferry on our way home after a holiday. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the hotel was excellent value for money. The food was good. It was just far enough out of Dover to be really quiet and restful.

At check in arranged a credit card reservation to be able to spend on room number account. The bar did not accept this and made a fuss about checking it before willing to serve us. Next came the restaurant with where we spent hours waiting and thus observing the very unprofessional staff, it ended with being presented the wrong bill and we had to sum […] up our menu for which I signed. Next morning at check out I was presented with two restaurant bill instead of one and the lady only believed we really had dined once after i pointed out I signed only one bill. Room was ok, they forgot to clean dirty walls from big dust patches. Instead of a chair they put in an extra bed. Conclusion: Lack of hospitality, bad organisation! Read more

The room was okay, but not particularly clean. Doesn't' seem to have enough staff, particularly in the bar. The hotel lobby was full of elderly coach party members which wouldn't move clear of the door when ask abruptly by hotel staff.

Very conveniently situated for the ferry. Although off the main traffic thoroughfare it is a very quiet hotel. All facilities are good. I do not suppose I got more than 1 hours sleep because of very hard rubber pillows and an unyielding bed. We had chosen to stay there rather than an early start from home the following morning. Ideally located for ferry stop overs, petrol stn next door and but 5 mins from terminal. Restaurant on site and though we planned breakfast on the ferry the evening meal we had was much above expectation and above a hotel priced in this range.

The room was very spacious and I had everything I needed (kettle, hairdryer, iron with iron board, etc). The bed was very comfy and everything was spotless. Food was also good: they have a good concept of cooking on the spot in front of you so I enjoyed the Italian night with my freshly cooked pasta and also my breakfast. The only problem was that sometimes […] you had to wait for the chef, maybe they weren't expecting so many customers and they only had one chef. Staff at the receiption wasn't entirely up to standard, but it was ok.
