"A hastle at reception"
Both times I've stayed after using Hotels.com I've been put in single beds and it has been highlighted to me that doubles are only guaranteed if I use them direct. I dont know if it is company policy. They tried to refuse to change the address from Hotels.com's address to my company address because I was not paying them direct. To get my meal receipt changed to my company address took a discussion and I had to point out that I ate in the restaurant and paid them, so I had to insist I got a receipt in my own name. The hotel is very handy for the motorway and is very clean. However, I cant be bothered with the hastle every time I stay so will use another hotel 20 mins down the motorway next time. Summary is, nice hotel let down by the computer says no attitude

"Good value and relaxing"
We were attending a funeral and need somewhere to stay overnight near to the crematorium. I selected the Hotel because it was bookable through Hotels.com and provided free Wifi and break was included. It also had a restaurant for an evening meal. The hotel is conveniently located only a few yards from the M6. Check in was simple and fast which meant we could get to our room quickly and relax after a 4 hour drive. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom had a bath with a plastic shower curtain which is not my favourite. The restaurant had a good range of starters and main courses at a reasonable price. I thought the wine was a little on the expensive side so we opted for tap water. Breakfast was in the restaurant; buffet style, except for the coffee, consisting of cereals, fruit and the usual elements of an English breakfast. Check out was not until 12 noon which was a bonus for us as we could relax in our room before going off to the crematorium.

"Very poor service"
The stay was spoiled because of very poor hotel service. In our room we found a badly soiled quilt. When we pointed this out to the staff we were told a clean one would be delivered. This had not arrived an hour later. A further visit to reception was made before a clean quilt was delivered. There was no manager on duty so I was promised a call the following day. No call was forthcoming. Have tried email but no reply. Hotels dot com you have declined to put this review in but I cannot understand why. It is what happened and the poor service we received.

"Friend's night out"
Our room was clean and comfortable, all it needed was a touch of warmth in the colour scheme to make it a welcome sight. Breakfast was the only meal we had, there was plenty choice and it was very enjoyable. The location is handy for the M6, parking is free, taxi into town is less than £6 or a 33min walk (Google)

"Guests should come first..."
The hotel was as expected and the breakfast was great. Lee on reception certainly didn't want to be there and the pool was closed for a private class which was the main reason we booked here and spoilt it for the kids! Other than that, fine.

"Hotel with pool and gym facilities"
For price you pay surprises you don't get free WiFi. We had food first night we arrived just big pizza for us and a child pizza. Child pizza was rock hard and the barman brought my child ice cream. This put my child of this hotel and he wanted to go home which really spoilt our couple days away. My child wrote a letter complaining to manager but got no feedback prob didn't take it serious because it was from a child but they are the future and he said he will never stay in their hotels again.

"Cold Tired Room in poor state of repair - AVOID"
This hotel should have been demolished. Originally built to a poor standard with a quick paint over thats simply not appropriate or acceptable in this day and age. Suggest the Premier inn opposite. Tired cold room with no working radiator in the bathroom and shower curtains ! Really ! On the upside room service food was quick and hot thereby enabling food to be consumed under bedclothes in an effort to get warm. 1*

"Nice Hotel"
easy to find - just off motorway. Welcome at reception was good - room was nice - had a drink in the bar - barman was very friendly and helpful. had a meal in the restaurant - it was overpriced and food very disappointing - waitress was not well informed and didn't know about specials.

"Poor hygiene and service"
A good value for money overnight stay ruined by dire hygiene and service. Unfortunately when we unpacked the third bed duvet we found it badly soiled with very smelly urine. That was bad enough but when we took the duvet to reception we were met with total complacency. No apology and over one hour and two reminders to get a replacement. Very poor service and hygiene standards.

"Nice stay but staff could be more helpful."
Had a lovely stay here with wife, daughters and dog on valentines night and everything was nice and what we expected apart from the staff. They don't really make you feel welcome, the few things we asked was not answered in the manner that would be expected as it was as if they can't be bothered. Customer relations course wouldn't go a miss here. First impressions count and when we first checked in I requested a rear room as it was on the main road and the gentleman on reception said "you have a room at the front and I'm not changing things around now you should have requested this earlier" If I'd known the hotel was on a main road I would have. We found this attitude was the same through most of the staff apart from a couple.

Its comfertable enough, but quite dated hotel. Had to join the Holiday Inn scheeme to get free internet,I would normally not stay in a hotel with no free internet. Breakfast was very basic, which is fine, but when you pay for it, you would expect more variaty.

"Unfriendly staff"
Staff should be more attentive to the customer requests. We felt as we were bothering the reception staff when asked questions. A training in customer service might be a good idea for 2015. Apart from that the breakfast is enjoyable but a coffee machine with good quality coffee might be an investment in the future. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are a good feature. Negative note is 1 pound coin is needed to use the locker.

"Great Hotel"
One thing you're guaranteed with Holiday Inn is that the rooms are always clean and of high quality.Fantastic location as it is on the main road into Lancaster, 5 minutes by car from the city centre. Bags of free parking and good, clean rooms and friendly, helpful staff.

"Yes, but...."
Just a one night stay at this hotle just off M6 at Lancaster north, breaking a long journey. Been here before but it really is a bit tired and not really good value. Had an Executive room which was comfortable with clean facilities. It had one dressing gown, one complimentary mars bar and one bottle of water - but there were two of us. Also had to pay for wi fi - really not good enough for a premium rate room or indeed these days for any room. Has a good pool but full of children at wekend. The breakfast was fine but staff under siege. Dinner was overpriced but reasonable fayre - many people seemed to be on DB&B packages. Overall no longer vlaue and there is a more comfortable, cheaper Premier Inn with free WiFi across the road.

"Nice hotel let down by front desk"
Property was very good in cleaniness, facilities and location. We were pleased with the whole experience but felt let down by the one person at front desk who had a very good first impression. However, when requesting a change of room not facing the main road, we were refused as the hotel was fully booked. We saw a lot of guests came in after we checked in. we can only put it down to laziness. This was further proven when we had to ask for access of wifi for which we need to join as IHG member. This was not advertised online and we felt forced into it. Once registered, we became aware that the password only work for one device despite we checked in as a couple. None of this was even explained and we had to go to front desk again. We were given a long face when asked for it.

"It's Good, But Not Quite Carling"
Jokes aside, it's probably the best hotel you'll find in Lancaster. It's not the same as a Holiday Inn in other cities like LA or Dubai but it is comfortable. For instance, the pillows aren't feather and you don't get bathrobes or slippers. All in all, it's a fine hotel and you won't find a better place in that little town.

"Handy for a nights stay before hitting the M6."
Have used this hotel before and is very convenient for a nights stay before traveling on the M6. This time I had a room (225) which smelt as though it was a smoking room, the aroma hit you as soon as the door was opened, although the sign outside stated all rooms were non smoking. As it was 12.30 at night, I did not complain - I needed to sleep! I will give them another chance, but next time I will not be so tolerant.

"Great overall, would go again"
Stayed for overnight before getting to our destination of Edinburgh. Super close to lake District and that's why we stayed at this hotel. The room given to us were superb as they were linked (I was with my parents so 4 adults plus a child) and so we could basically share the two rooms and wonder about easily through the connecting door. The gym was great as well had decent amount of equipment and was well air conditioned. The pool was fantastic with a really warm jacuzzi. My 17m old daughter loved the pool and it was great to then get some warmth in the jacuzzi instead of a steam room/sauna, which she does not like. Overall great overnight stay and we kinda wished we could've stayed longer. Very easy to find as it is just off the motorway but then far enough to not been disturbed, but close enough to easily find it.

"Good overnight stop"
Great place to stay overnight on our journey. Location was easy to get to, hotel was clean comfy and quite new. Breakfast was good also and leisure facilities were great for a quick splash in the morning.

"Family trip"
The hotel location is nice as it is easy to get in the motorway and drive to the lake district just 25 miles away, the facilities are ok nothing fancy but good, the only thing I can complain is that they did no make up the room properly fr the second night, the towels were in the floor when we came back, and the kids bed was not made properly as well. Breakfast was great, swimming pool and gym ok as well.

"Great stay, would stay again"
All aspects of the hotel were perfect for our stay, our Daughter loved the pool, the food served in the restaurant was of a good standard though a little expensive compared to other places we have stayed.

"Good Stay Overall apart from pat's hair in room"
We enjoyed our stay overall. It would have been better if there was more choice for vegeterians in the breakfast like Omelates etc. There was no free internet. Swimming, Jacuzzi, Steam Room and Suana facilities were good. Finding Pet's hair in the room spoiled it a little bit.
