"Good location with great service."
Great Location and good value. Close to Blackpool and Lake District area and right by the M6. Breakfast has a good range and is a buffet. Staff are friendly and helpful.

"Nice hotel"
The hotel allowed us to book in early and the breakfast was good. Pillows were awful and did not make for a comfortable nights sleep.

I chose hotel for its proximity to the motorway. The location was excellent, the room was acceptable as was the breakfast. I was glad I had not paid any more for a mediocre experience.

"Great Hotel"
One thing you're guaranteed with Holiday Inn is that the rooms are always clean and of high quality.Fantastic location as it is on the main road into Lancaster, 5 minutes by car from the city centre. Bags of free parking and good, clean rooms and friendly, helpful staff.

"Yes, but...."
Just a one night stay at this hotle just off M6 at Lancaster north, breaking a long journey. Been here before but it really is a bit tired and not really good value. Had an Executive room which was comfortable with clean facilities. It had one dressing gown, one complimentary mars bar and one bottle of water - but there were two of us. Also had to pay for wi fi - really not good enough for a premium rate room or indeed these days for any room. Has a good pool but full of children at wekend. The breakfast was fine but staff under siege. Dinner was overpriced but reasonable fayre - many people seemed to be on DB&B packages. Overall no longer vlaue and there is a more comfortable, cheaper Premier Inn with free WiFi across the road.

"Nice hotel let down by front desk"
Property was very good in cleaniness, facilities and location. We were pleased with the whole experience but felt let down by the one person at front desk who had a very good first impression. However, when requesting a change of room not facing the main road, we were refused as the hotel was fully booked. We saw a lot of guests came in after we checked in. we can only put it down to laziness. This was further proven when we had to ask for access of wifi for which we need to join as IHG member. This was not advertised online and we felt forced into it. Once registered, we became aware that the password only work for one device despite we checked in as a couple. None of this was even explained and we had to go to front desk again. We were given a long face when asked for it.

"It's Good, But Not Quite Carling"
Jokes aside, it's probably the best hotel you'll find in Lancaster. It's not the same as a Holiday Inn in other cities like LA or Dubai but it is comfortable. For instance, the pillows aren't feather and you don't get bathrobes or slippers. All in all, it's a fine hotel and you won't find a better place in that little town.

"Handy for a nights stay before hitting the M6."
Have used this hotel before and is very convenient for a nights stay before traveling on the M6. This time I had a room (225) which smelt as though it was a smoking room, the aroma hit you as soon as the door was opened, although the sign outside stated all rooms were non smoking. As it was 12.30 at night, I did not complain - I needed to sleep! I will give them another chance, but next time I will not be so tolerant.

"Great overall, would go again"
Stayed for overnight before getting to our destination of Edinburgh. Super close to lake District and that's why we stayed at this hotel. The room given to us were superb as they were linked (I was with my parents so 4 adults plus a child) and so we could basically share the two rooms and wonder about easily through the connecting door. The gym was great as well had decent amount of equipment and was well air conditioned. The pool was fantastic with a really warm jacuzzi. My 17m old daughter loved the pool and it was great to then get some warmth in the jacuzzi instead of a steam room/sauna, which she does not like. Overall great overnight stay and we kinda wished we could've stayed longer. Very easy to find as it is just off the motorway but then far enough to not been disturbed, but close enough to easily find it.

"Good overnight stop"

"Family trip"
The hotel location is nice as it is easy to get in the motorway and drive to the lake district just 25 miles away, the facilities are ok nothing fancy but good, the only thing I can complain is that they did no make up the room properly fr the second night, the towels were in the floor when we came back, and the kids bed was not made properly as well. Breakfast was great, swimming pool and gym ok as well.

"Good Stay Overall apart from pat's hair in room"
We enjoyed our stay overall. It would have been better if there was more choice for vegeterians in the breakfast like Omelates etc. There was no free internet. Swimming, Jacuzzi, Steam Room and Suana facilities were good. Finding Pet's hair in the room spoiled it a little bit.

"Efficient hotel for one night stay."
Enjoyed the one night. Receptionist not too welcoming. A smile does not cost anything! The room was lovely and clean and we chose to eat in the restaurant. It was wonderful but the staff lacked a leader and we waited 40 minutes for our chosen desert. I felt sorry particularly for one girl who apologised for the wait. We had rather a disturbed sleep as there was a continuous tick/ dripping noise. Did not stay for breakfast. Too expensive!

"Nothing unexpected but tired."
This hotel is on the outskirts of town with little around it. The public areas feel dated but well kept. We planned to eat at the hotel but the good looked average and very expensive. We had drinks which were equally overpriced. The room was clean, large and well appointed. There was a Starbucks set up at the bar. We took a short taxi into town and are there spending less overall than a meal in the hotel would have cost. For a motorway stop off a good hotel. For a Lancaster visit not so much. Expensive.

"not up to standard"
The room has a smell of damp, the bath tub was not cleaned properly, there is no fridge in the room. Also, without free wifi in the room made my stay very inconvenient. Since the location is not near the city centre, the only mode of transportation is taxi. It would be nice if the hotel can provide shuttle bus service (even if it's charged).

"Enjoyable stay"
Comfy clean rooms, friendly helpful service, located just off M6. Across the road is a Premier inn with Brewers Fayre pub. 5 minute drive into Lancaster. Good gym facilities and ample pool.

The staff are great and very attentive. Room was spacious, very clean and well laid out. Breakfast is very expensive for the quality if you don't have a voucher. Dinner was OK although the vegetables my wife had were very oily and she couldn't eat them.

Disappointing - room was dusty, air conditioning was limited to 19 so impossible to cool the room as the windows didn't open much. Room was near function suite and very noisy at night until late - also people are allowed to smoke out the front so if you have your window open you get a room full of smoke. Breakfast very good – WIFI expensive

"Splendid place for a two night visit to Lancaster."
Drove to Lancaster from Scotland. Hotel easy to find, Easy to park, speedy check in. Excellent room, well designed bath room, comfortable all around. Good breakfast, very helpful staff. Easy check out. Left early on 2nd morning to drive home to Dorset. Excellent breakfast was provided half an hour before the restaurant was due to open, organised by the two very competent and helpful staff at reception, I suspect they were the duty receptionist and duty manager.

"Double Booked"
On arriving at the hotel at 10.30 pm ready to check in we were informed that we did not have a room as the hotel was overbooked. We had made the booking a week in advance, hence there was ample time to relay this information to us, apparently they had been " trying to contact my mobile" that day though the receptionist did admit she thought there was a digit missing in the number. We were advise that alternative accommodation had been arranged in a hotel in the centre of town. This turned out to be a poorer quality of accommodation than the usual Holiday Inn standard and was also a lot noisier being in the centre of a town. These were the very reasons why we did not choose town centre accommodation when booking. We were provided with a token refund, which on further investigation did not fully meet the difference if we had booked direct with this hotel. All in all a disappointing experience in dealing with Expedia and Holiday Inn. I was under the impression that once funds are taken from a credit card your accommodation was reserved, but obviously not in this case.

"Good hotel close to transport links"
Stayed there for one night en route to Scotland. Family room was good size and all facilities were available. Menu choices were a bit confusing - one menu for the bar area, another for the restaurant right next to it. Anyway food was of acceptable quality. Shame about the waiter who carried the drinks tray round far too quickly, losing all the drinks onto the floor including the glass of wine which went all over my wife. The manager was very apologetic and we got free drinks at the bar afterwards. Less speed would be good.
