"A relaxing treat"
An excellent short break - quite expensive but it was a special occasion! The restaurant was exceptionally good for dinner and breakfast. Our room was tastefully decorated and well equipped and the location is beautiful.

"Beautiful hotel, only spoilt by the aircon!"
A one night stay in a really lovely looking hotel. The hotel decor is lovely, the rooms are really comfortable and I could have stayed a few nights in this place. Not the cheapest in food and drinks and little limited on veggie food, but quite a few places still are unfortunately. Very quiet in the hotel, even though there was a local prom happening so when we turned up we couldn't even get near the place! Only real downside the air conditioning was useless and we had to sleep with the window open on a very warm night.

"Great weekend."
We had the best time. The area is scenic and spectacular but not to far from train station and airport. The service and food was excellent. My room was clean and comfortable although a bit small. I visited my friends rooms and they had a bigger room, and balcony. I would highly recommend a stay at Burford Bridge Hotel for a family, because of the pool, or couples for a getaway.Fantastic walks and bike trails.

"Great for cycling Box Hill"
Recently renovated so was all very smart. Room had everything you need in it and also a balcony. Breakfast was very good and plenty of choice. A bit noisy on the second night due to a wedding downstairs, there were a number of loud drunk guests at 1.00AM. Location brilliant for walking and cyling in the area. There were also a number of local pubs in walking distance, do not drink in hotel unless you have loads of money to throw away!!

"Almost there!"
Potentially a super hotel in a beautiful location - very well stylishly appointed. Just needs to complete some small finishing touches to get 100% marks - examples such as it was obvious room allocation had been manually changed so not surprised that key card didn't open room door and had to be reset; only 1 English teabag on complimentary tray so another visit to Reception; used breakfast room service order card left in room etc.; no controlled access to Breakfast room so long wait for waitress to work out new arrivals to get tea/coffee ordered etc.. Small things but all easily fixed!

"Great surroundings"
A very comfortable stay in lovely green surroundings. The outdoor pool was a delight after our long walk in the hot weather. Just need a sauna and steam. There's room to put one in... The hotel room double bed was huge and comfortable that looked out on to the pleasant Green Garden, the bathroom immaculate with a deep bath. Breakfast was delicious. Variety and looked good in the lightly aired dining room. Restaurant was closed on the Sunday night when we wanted to eat but it wasn't a problem as the bar food was nice and the bar was a nice place to be in. Tasteful and neutral decor throughout newly refurbished hotel. Liked all the furnishings especially the two seater chair in the foyer. A very modern reception. Just thought it was a big old table at first. Check-in took a long time. No queue but staff seemed to find the laptop keyboard tricky. Liked the quietness of the place. Heard the loud music from the wedding party in the Tithe Barn but don't know when that stopped as I fell asleep. Hotel great for visiting Denbies Vineyard and Dorking ton centre as is within walking distance. We had a very enjoyable stay and would love to return again.

"Perfect location for Box Hill and Denbies vineyard"
This is our second stay here, and we were wondering what to expect after the floods and subsequent revamp the hotel had gone through. It only reopened 2 weeks before our stay, so most things looked pristine. The bedroom was comfortable, and the bathroom was big. Unfortunately the shower wasn't really powerful enough, which was a shame as it had a monsoon shower head! The breakfast was really good. Next time we might book two nights so that we had time to use the very inviting pool....

"Location"
Not a good stay, room was very small, and smelling of paint. Bathroom door still had wet paint, which got on our clothes. Considering we booked 3 month in advance, the room was not really aceptable, and in hind sight should have kicked up a fuss. Bathroom was again small, chipped bath, not enough towells, very little bath gel/ shampoo.Window blinds not private, and open to front veiw by passers by, noise from outside. Double bed but room only fit for one person. Wifi no good, TV stations limited. No lifts. Corridoors very tight when carrying bags. Food trays left in corridoors, not collected. Reception very slow.

"Shabby but not chic"
The public areas were fine and the staff were all very helpful and polite. Breakfast was great with loads of choices. Dinner, however, was a disappointment. Overpriced, over seasoned and overcooked. The room could have been ok, but the carpets were grubby and there were crumbs on the floor. The minibar was nt switched on when we arrived and only contained two bottles of water, one of which was opened and some water was gone, the other had a faulty cap and we weren't able to open it. The pool looked good, but we didn't have time to try it. Great location for Denbies vineyard and perfect for Box Hill

"Good venue for a special occasion"
We use this hotel and Restaurant for an annual Reunion Lunch .. This year we got off to a slow start as the Hotel and the Restaurant were both very busy so it was 20 mins before we could order a drink and another 20 mins before we could order our meal . However all went very well after that with an excellent meal , good wine selection and good service . All finished off with coffee in the lovely gardens with stunning views of Box Hill . The blazing sun helped as well

I've stayed at this hotel many times. The staff are very warm and welcoming, and the breakfast service is top notch! Freshly cooked to order when it's quiet enough. Really comfy beds, rooms are a good size and 10 minutes to the M25.

"Good rural location at the bottom of Box Hill"
We have stayed in this hotel in the past, but felt a little disappointed after this visit. It could be excellent with just a little effort. The service at reception was very slow though staff were very friendly, and prices for extras seem to be rather expensive for the level of staffing. Breakfast was very good. There was a disco at the back of the hotel but this did not disturb us in our room.

"Lovely escape for couples"
We had a lovely weekend away at this hotel. Staff were polite and efficient. The room was small but clean and the bed magnificently comfy. The only criticism I had, was the walls were really thin so you could hear other peoples conversations and movements very easily. And there was no free access to wifi in your room. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

"Wedding venue."
Pros:Stayed here for a wedding in the Tithe Barn. Bedoom and TB air conditioned, excellent as temperature outside was 33*C. Evening meal in dining room delicious, staff there helpful, friendly, obliging but not intrusive. Cons: highchairs in very poor state of repair; directed to 'ground floor' garden rooms up outside, uneven, steps! Found access round side of building, path overgrown and very dark at night. Parking across road from hotel, very busy indeed with would-be Bradley Wiggins cyclists racing round corner and up and down Box Hill.

"Relaxing overnight stopover"
Good location, easy to see Box Hill with its splendid views. Good size outdoor pool. Room in good condition - maybe bathroom could do with some deep cleaning. Breakfast was the best I can remember - very high quality choices, and lovely attentive waiting staff (all that is except one waiter who seemed to hover in the corner trying to chat with the hard working waitresses. He tried hard to avoid any contact with customers, including me). Overall however a lovely experience.

"A deux pas de la M25"
Nous avions choisi cet hotel pour sa proximité aux grands axes comme la M25 près de Londres tout en bénéficiant d'un cadre bucolique et très calme.Le petit déjeuner est correct et copieux (buffet à l'anglaise). Par contre la ville de Dorking à proximité ne présente aucun charme particulier.

"Nicely renovated, quiet, peace and comfort!"
08/01/15 Lolo_Celine_et_Chloe Syracuse, Italy
I often travel in the area and have tried most of the hotels in the area. Most of the neighboring hotels are quite old fashion, are charming but with poor plumbery, low noise insulation, Mercure Burford Bridge has been nicely renovated and mixes the traditional atmosphere to very recent and up to date services. So all in all had a great time! There are great triqls just behind the hotel in Box hill, it is just a bit distant from any other restaurant than the hotel's.

"Great stay!"

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Especially the lady at the reception whom we had spenken previously to our arrival had help us to upgrade our room in order to accommodate our three year old more comfortably, was very kind and attentive! We met also at the desk when we checked in. We would like to thank her personally! The breakfast was fantastic, so is the interior of the hotel, very elegant and stylish! We also enjoyed our room facing the beautiful yard. We would definitely return back to the hotel if we are traveling in the area again.

"Brilliant Wedding Reception and Hotel stay!!"
07/23/15 Rayner A Epsom, United Kingdom
We were booked for a Wedding reception on the 27th June and stayed at the hotel the night before and on the night of the wedding. Sadly, we were informed by the hotel about a month before our wedding that our wedding planner had left the company without notice and the first thought that came to both our minds is that our wedding would be cancelled. Must I say that this was not the case! We met with Toni Tijhuis (General Manager) who assured us over and over that nothing has changed and that we needed to go through everything again in case anything was missed. Although, our previous wedding planner had promised to deliver loads of things that was never noted, Toni respected that and delivered more than what we expected. He was also there on the day to make sure that everything was as planned which made us happy. On the day, Toni came in to check up on us as my partner and I were staying at the same hotel before the wedding, he even came to tell us when it was OK to come down and have breakfast. After the ceremony we were greeted with two glasses of champagne on red carpet at the entrance. The venue itself was absolutely stunning, very modern and luxurious. The refurb has definitely made a difference to the venue, from the interior design to the furniture. The garden at the back is brilliant too for pictures and another area further back from the swimming pool for more wedding photos. The food was delicious, although it took longer than expected to come out I cannot blame them as they were providing a 3 course meal for 100+ guests. The reception went on until 1am and Tibor who was supervising notified us that the bar would stay open until 5am. Quite frankly most of us were too tired to even think about heading to the bar afterwards. The next morning we were told that we had a private breakfast in the barn, which was unexpected but we were happy to have our own breakfast area. Overall, The whole day itself was wonderful! Thanks to Toni who kept his word and his team who were extremely helpful, we were happy with the turnout of our wedding. The hotel itself is beautiful with the scenes of box hill. Rooms are reasonably priced considering the scene and location. For anyone who wishes to celebrate their wedding at this hotel is highly recommended!!! Rayner and Jennie

"Fantastic Stay!"

Stayed at the Burford Bridge on the weekend of 11/12th July, looked a very nice place when we pulled up, we were not disappointed when we got inside, superb décor, great atmosphere, very relaxed. We had a garden room with a little balcony which was spot on, clean, fresh and tidy. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, which was faultless, spent the night in the bar, then had a great breakfast in the morning. The real thing that makes this hotel stand out is the staff, the last one to a man/woman, were accommodating, polite, helpful and in some cases funny. We would and will stay again.

"Perfect....until the cleaner barged into our room without knocking!"

This is a lovely hotel, with a relaxing ambience, attentive staff, heated outdoor pool in pleasant gardens, the breakfasts are superb. However our stay was spoilt somewhat by a cleaner bursting into our room while I was getting dressed, she didn't even knock! It has taught me a lesson, always use the safety chain!

I travel here often and am not disappointed. The rooms are so comfortable and I am always made welcome. I particularly like the garden rooms in summer as they have private balconies and you can get some fresh air at the end of a long day.

"A little noisy but otherwise good."
07/12/15 KTnSue Bedford, United Kingdom
This was a good place to stay for a night on business. Facilities were good, rooms were well laid out and clean. Staff in the restaurant were excellent and the food was very good. However, it's a typical old building near a main road, so it is noisy. This might be avoided if you can manage to get a room at the back of the hotel. Overall, I would stay here again.

"Good, but expensive"
07/09/15 SussexMozzie West Sussex
Three of us went here for lunch. Since the floods the refurbishments that have been done are lovely and it all looks very smart indeed and up to date. It was a nice day so we ate outside, and again the grounds looked lovely and we enjoyed having lunch on the terrace. They do a set menu but we found the two choices very limited so two of us chose from the a la carte which worked out very expensive. Can't fault the food, it was most enjoyable, but just saying to be prepared for the bill.
