Econo Lodge New Paltz - New Paltz

I was pleasantly surprised at how adequate this hotel was. I idn't expect much, but the staff was friendly, and the room wasn't a disaster. Simply put it was not as terrible as it was portrayed ibn some of the other reviews. I'd stay here again.

Half of the lights in the room worked. One of the beds was unmade and looked as though it was JUST slept it. The room was dirty. I actually didn't even stay overnight here because it was so gross. I opted to stay in a smoking room at another local hotel and I can't STAND the smell of smoke.

Got what I paid for. Room was nice. Service was below average. Continental breakfast was a joke. I'd rather they not put fruit out at all rather than dried up, wrinkled 2 month old apples. Seriously, its not that hard to put some pride into your display.

We definitely got what we paid for. My boyfriend and I chose this hotel because of its convenient location to the area we were visiting. Not a place we will be staying at again. It was moderately clean but everything was old. The blankets they gave us had cigarette burn holes in them. The bathroom wasn't properly equipped with the general toiletries […] hotels/motels provide. Walls were very thin and could hear people in the next room. The complimentary breakfast wasn't much to talk about either (but hey it was free). Not to mention it is right next to a strip club. It's a good cheap place to crash for the night if you're going to the bars in the heart of New Paltz but definitely not somewhere to choose for a vacation. Read more

My main complaint was they passed off a smoking room for a non-smoking room and it was awful, despite open windows and air freshener. the bathroom was clean but the rest was iffy. The website said they had in-room coffee/tea pots but did not and said they never had. Coffee was only available in am. The "breakfast" was lame, not what I had experienced […] at other Econolodges. extremely overpriced for what they offer. charged us additional $11 for the 3rd person staying in the room when we booked a room with two double beds. no hairdryer in the room. just overpriced.

Im not at all picky about lodging and don't usually complain. When we entered the motel room there was a large green insect that looked like a praying mantis crossed with a leaf, crawling on the carpet and up the wall by the bedpost. I brought three kids to this hotel in large part because of swimming pool. However, we were locked out of the pool because of some bogus "health code" regulation (apparently applicable only to this one hotel!) that the pool could not be used before 10 am. This eliminated our available time slot for a swim before we had to leave.

Drove in to see something hanging out 2 windows, a strip club next door (I was traveling with my minor child, and only 3 cars in the parking lot at 6:00pm. The outside was really seedy. It was not great for the price. The bathroom was new but the beds small and both my Husband and myself woke-up with sore backs. They do seem to be swapping out the old bed for new ones just not our room yet.

This is definitely a one night stay kind of hotel. I wouldn't stay here for any extended time but if you are looking for a cheap room that's pretty decent when spending a day in New Paltz it works.

The exterior of the motel is somewhat shabby, but the room was fine. Strictly basic motel...it did have a good TV, microwave and a fridge but nothing beyond the basics. It was fine for the occasion. I would recommend it if "basic, clean, no-frills accommodation is what you're looking for.

I booked my employees and myself into this hotel for two nights. Once I arrived, I noticed the disrepair of the place and it's proximity the neighboring strip club call the Blue Moon. I canceled the second night immediately. My room despite being non smoking smelled like smoke and had a very strange smell. It wasn't until later on that I was watching […] an episode of Bones that I realized that it smelled just like the cleaning room at a funeral home I recently been working in. My room had not been painted in some time and I think the center of the bed was being propped up by something as it collapsed when I sat on it. The toilet leaked when you flushed it. The room stunk like mold and even after airing it out for 3 days, it still was there. The rug was stained and dusty. I could smell the pool from the second floor in the back - terrible. while inexpensive for the area,you're better off going elsewhere. minimal selection of breakfast items. rooms do have microwave and refrigerator but no coffee maker.if you want to check your emails, bring your own laptop.bed is comfortable but there's only one chair in the room.

Not only was the hotel next door to a strip club, it was the most run down, sketchy hotel I've ever stayed in. I couldn't even sleep because I felt so uncomfortable there. This is one of the better choices of affordable hotels near New Paltz. The room was surprisingly clean. Don't expect much luxury for this price but if you need a place to sleep this is perfect.
