Good price for the location. That's about it. Hotel was understaffed, but friendly. Room was large, but smelled. Showers in my room and a co-workers room were very dissappointing. At $70 a night in the area, it is good value, but the room would have you thinking more like $40 or $50. The immediate area isn't the greatest. noisy, and not very clean..bathroom floor was dirty and all the grout looked dirty..room was too close to the street, felt uncomfortable from a safety issue..asked for another, but not availble..on a good note, it was the only hotel that had 5am shuttle to airport

This place is conveniently close to the airport, and is very easy to find. We rented a car, and even though we weren't familiar with the area, we found it very quickly. Stayed here for one night during a layover after flying in from Jamaica. There is no elevator so it was hard getting up the wet stairs (it rained) but that couldn't be helped. Room was very big, but of course nothing spectacular. Very standard with a tube tv, and fridge, and microwave. Shower looked like something out of a communal dormitory. The staff […] were nice, my biggest problem with this stay was the neighborhood, and the door of the room. I came in late around midnight. I needed allergy medicine for a wasp sting, so I walked across the street to a 24 hour 7 eleven. This is a sketchy neighborhood, and there were lots of interesting people walking the streets which made me nervous. I was outside for less than 10 minutes and saw 2 different cop cars driving around. The other issue is that the door wasn't fully sealed. I am deathly afraid of bugs and insects. There were lizards running up and down the walls outside, and I could see through a crack in my door seal at the bottom. I literally had to close a towel in my door to help keep the cool air from the AC in and he bugs out. The room was hot as hell when I first walked in but after fixing the door and turning on the portable wall AC, it was fine. I would never stay here again because I have had much better for the same price, but it was very last minute, they accommodated me, and they offer a free airport shuttle. I just wouldn't advise staying here more than one night, or leaving your room after dark. Read more

First of all, the hotel failed to pick us up at the airport as agreed. We waited for over 2 hours, and everytime I called the Hotel, I was told driver would be there shortly, but no one showed. We gave up and got ground trans. to the hotel. I paid $26.00 for that transportation. the hotel manger admitted they drop the ball, so the hotel gave me back […] only $13.00. Splitting the cost. The hotel employee wasn't honest to me about when the shuttle van was coming to pick us up at the airport, he also said he had no communication with the driver, yet the drivers have cell phones. I will never use that hotel again. I shouldn't had to pay anything for transportation to the hotel. Read more

The hotel was in sad shape, our room was not clean at all and the air conditioning unit sounded like it was going to die. It didnt keep the room cool. Our bathroom smelled like urine, we didnt even attempt to take a shower there it was so nasty. Had to carry my own bags up stairs. I was also a bit disappointed that my room only had a shower and no bathtub when the room description said I'd have one. Overall though can't really complain though. I had free wi ti, a trudge and a microwave. Also the bed was Comfortable. You could do far worse for a one night stay :)

I just use the hotel to sleep in it. The main door handle was not working right. Found a dirty sheet, it looked like it was not changed before the day I arrived. Didn`t watch tv the first night because didn`t know that I had to turn on a switch located by the entrance in order for the tv to turn on.

I think my review title says it all. 1. cleanliness - I've never been so skeeved out in my life and I've stayed in some pretty shady, cheap places. We only stayed one night and thankfully arrived late and left early - didn't even shower and like the title says slept fully clothed. 2. maintenance - I've seen some old but decently maintained hotels in […] my life. The operators of this one are just plain lazy: a) there was graffiti in the bed headboard, b) the bathroom door handle was loose (we were surprised how it held on), c) they took off the paper border off the walls, but didn't bother to paint over the spot, d) the window curtain came off in certain areas and was hanging crooked hanging on only in some spots. e) the lamp shades looked like they were last cleaned in the 20th century - were unbelievably dirty and stained. So we decided that the hotel operators don't care about the place. The above-mentioned items could be fixed with some work and a little bit of money. 3. breakfast - was a joke. there isn't any place to even sit. There was a small corner with coffee and some mediocre bagels and muffins in the reception area and that's it. Doesn't even come close to being a continental breakfast. The entrance to the check-in area is rigged with this awful sensor that makes a terribly loud noise every time someone passes by – pretty much enough to give someone a heart attack. The problem is that if you have several people going in and out for breakfast, etc, it becomes almost unbearable. 4. Hotel staff – pretty rude. I called for the shuttle from the airport and the manager said that they will be there shortly – what he failed to mention was that the shuttle goes between several Econolodge sister properties and between several terminals so it might be a while. After about 40 minutes I called again to make sure we are waiting in the right area. The guy says “go stand under the sign ‘airport parking’ to the right of the terminal exit”. I cannot believe Econo Lodge would even have their name associated with this motel. I have stayed in Econo Lodge motels previously that were very nice so I had no worries about booking this motel/hotel. However, it was so filthy and run down that if we would have had another option and had not already paid in advance, there is no way we would have stayed […] there. The only good thing about our stay was free shuttles to and from the airport and cruise terminal. We travel a lot and in all our years of travel, there has never been a worse kept place. Doors opened to the outside, many had no working locks, extremely dirty from top to bottom, rooms smelled bad and some were so bad they kept the doors open to ventilate. Bedspreads were filthy, some of them had holes in them. Outside chairs around the pool had holes in the seats and everyone we talked to who was staying there couldn't believe how a place like that was even open. The outside appearance was not good and we questioned the driver if it was the right place. However, the outside was even better than the inside, which we didn't think was possible. It is not worth staying there even though there is free shuttle services. I'm extremely disappointed in Econo Lodge, Hotels.com and anyone who is associated with this "Bates Motel".
