"Good location, sub-par hotel"
I would like to preface this review by stating that I have traveled frequently all my life, and I have been very satisfied with Days Inn at other locations. This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I ever had at a hotel, and this is the first negative response I have ever left about a hotel experience.... The only thing this hotel has going for […] it is the proximity to DIA and the courteous shuttle service that includes a round trip to/from the airport. Other than those positives... these were issues that I encountered on my one-night stay. The thermostat in my room was broken, and it was set to about 58 degrees... too cold for me to rest comfortably. The "stopper" was broken in the bathtub, making it impossible to take a bath. The towels had stains and holes in them. The decor was REALLY outdated. The windows were drafty, and the blowing wind "whistled" through them all night. In the morning, I went down to breakfast 20 minutes after it started, and all the food was gone. I was told that it would not be replenished in the near future. So, I started my 11 hours of traveling with no breakfast (even though it was included in the price I paid for the hotel). Do yourself (and your family) a favor. We stayed in room 125. It was right next to the elevator, and we heard it squeak and groan up and down every square inch of the hotel. It was awful. We had a king-sized bed, but needed more than the 2 pillows allotted us. I enjoyed a very nice overnight stay at the Days Inn. It's close to the Denver International Airport, about a 10-15 minute drive, and they have reliable shuttles that run all night long. "Ankle deep water in bathtub - Yuck!"
We were in Denver on business and had driven up to Wyoming to visit family and had to come back to Denver for our flight out. We were originally making the drive from Casper to Denver on Sunday morning for a 10:18 AM flight, but I didn't want to get up in the middle of the night for the drive. So, we had an early dinner and drove back to Denver on Saturday […] night. I chose to wait for Sunday morning to take my shower. I was ironing clothes and asked if the toilet was running since I kept hearing water running. He told me that it was the bathtub. He had taken his shower and the tub was still draining a half hour later. I had to wait till his shower water had drained before I took my shower. While I'm taking my shower, the water is filling up in the bathtub. By the time I was ready to get out of the shower, the water was around my ankles. I actually flipped the stopper while I was doing my makeup and finishing up so I didn't have to listen to the water noises. It was still draining when we left the room for the airport. I was picking my husband up from the airport at midnight and we needed a place to stay before heading to downtown Denver the next day. No parking available in the lot. Hauled luggage in and checked in easily. Took luggage to room but unable to get in room. Back down long hotel to elevator to ground floor with luggage to front desk. Told that the handle on this room needed to be fixed and it only opens if you pull it up not down. Back with luggage to the elevator, down long hallway […] and finally got into the room.
