Price and location were right. Grounds and maintainance inside and out were above average....flowers blooming everywhere! Front desk friendly and efficient. Room spacious and well appointed with 2 Q beds and new, big, flat screen TV (room 301). Towels were not lush, but there were 4 of them, so no issues!

This is a good choice if North Vancouver is your destination. Lots of shopping and eating in the market below the hotel, which is also where the parking is located. The more upscale and higher priced rooms get you further out towards the water, which can be worth it in terms of quiet and view.

Hotel was very clean and new. Hotel is in middle of Chinatown so you won't see many chain restaurants or food other than very traditional Asian.

"Compass Point Inn, Surrey"
Hotel staff was very friendly. Ate at the restaurant/cafe behind the front desk, and they were understaffed. The waitress forgot to put in our order, but gave us a discount for the inconvenience. An easy walk to the Center City Mall.
Fantastic service from front desk staff, restaurants. Very handy!

This hotel is in an area that is being redeveloped. In fact, starting late 2012 this hotel may be replaced with high rise condos. From the outside this hotel, built in the 1970s, doesn't look like a winner, but inside the updated rooms (flat screen TVs and updated furniture) are comfortable and clean. The real kicker is the good steak-house off the […] lobby and the reasonable diner-type restaurant available fro breakfast and lunch. Bar and liquor store are attached to building, but with separate entrances in the back. workout room and pool are small and limited in size, but clean and underused. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is a mixed bag - area is a block from a nice city park and a newer mall and right next to the sky train (takes you to DT Vancouver), but the area is not yet fully cleaned up...make sure to lock your car! "Compass Point Inn in Surrey - easy access"
We visited the Compass Point Inn over the Christmas holiday and found it delightful. The hotel is 10 minutes from the border and the sky train, which will take you most anywhere without a worry of parking, access is across the parking lot. The hotel sells day passes, has four eateries and is an easy drive to grocery stores or malls, if that is your […] interest. We found the rooms to be comfortable and not much road noise once we figured out that we'd left a window slightly open. The staff were friendly and helpful. I have been staying here for over 25 years. If you drive into the Vancouver area this is a great location because it is right at the end of the Sky Train that goes right into downtown Vancouver.

"Excellent weekend at the Compass Point Inn"
The hotel is superbly located right next to the King George Sky Train station (36 mins to downtown Vancouver). It is also within an easy walk of a shopping centre and various places to buy groceries and snacks. There are also myriad eateries within a short walk or drive (Korea, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Indian, etc.). The Front Desk staff […] were spectacularly helpful at all hours of the day or night. Jackie, in particular, is a wealth of knowledge about the local area and restaurants and she really made our stay fabulous. I really recommend this hotel--really clean and comfortable with a lovely gym and pool. The Sunday buffet is pretty good as well although the service left a bit to be desired. "Great for the business traveller, but..."
The room had one of the most comfortable beds I have had on a business trip. The plasma tv was a nice touch too. There is a little fridge and microwave in the room which is handy also. Be aware that the hotel is very dated so the elevators are noisy, the windows are drafty, and furniture is straight from the set of 3's Company. "The Compass Inn hotel in Vancouver"
The hotel room was clean and had a refrigerator and a coffee machine. The first night all went well, but on the second evening I returned to my room at 10:00 pm and found that the bed had not been made and the room not cleaned. I was tired and went to bed anyway, but the next day I told the front desk staff what happened. They said I had not requested […] the room to be cleaned, so they didn't do it. If I want the room cleaned I must request it on a day-to-day basis. There is a plastic door hanger that requests the room to be cleaned and I had not hung it on the outside of the door. For the price of the hotel room I assumed the room would be cleaned without requesting it. Also, I think the staff should state their policy at check-in, then I think their policy would be fair. "Close to Sky Train"
This hotel was great! It is located at the very end of the King George Sky Train line so it takes a while to get in to the city of Vancouver (maybe 35 minutes?) but the train station itself is just across the parking lot from the hotel. The front desk staff was very helpful and accomodating. Will definately stay again.

"Convenient"
We needed a hotel in Surrey and had a limited budget. The Compass Point actually exceeded what we expected for that price range and we had no complaints. Emergency vehicles passing at King George highway in front might bother those with light sleep - pick a room in the back.
"Good location - loud"
Close by Skytrain station. Close to Center Mall King George Road is main thoroughfare, so you can hear the traffic in front rooms Wireless Internet bandwidth limited, good for email, bad for any other more complex pages.

"Good business hotel close to skytrain"
Good hotel if you're staying on business. Restaurants in hotel were good, and there are other less expensive places to eat nearby. Highway access isn't too far away, and the Skytrain station is close by, but noise is not a problem.

If you don;t have car and you want to visit Vancouver downtown along with Surrey, this is the hotel you must be looking for. Neat, clean & most important situated at most convenient spot.

This hotel was much more than expected. The room was very comfortable and quit. The bed was a little harder than I was used to but they couldn't know that. The water pressure was the only item that I would complain about. I was on the 6th floor. Don’t know if that is the reason or not. "Good choice"
The Compass Point Inn was very nice. The room was comfortable, clean and well furnished. All of the staff that we had contact with were very friendly and helpful. We had never been to Vancouver before, so weren't sure about where to stay but The Compass Point Inn was a good choice.

Both of the restaurants were excellent. We had a lovely breakfast and the best dinner of our trip at the hotel. Excellent food, excellent service

"Good room for the money."
The hotel is located adjacent to the Surrey Metro and on a busy highway. Reports that it was located in a dangerous area were misleading, as the location was fine. It isn't an area where you would go walking at night, but it seemed safe enough and the parking lots were well lit. Overall, a good value and I would stay there again.

Clean & comfortable. The TV was not working at first, but once we reported it, it was remedied quickly. There was no plug for the bathroom sink, which was a bit annoying. The pillows on the bed were way too soft for our liking. We hung up our towels to re-use them, and they were exchanged every day for clean towels - not very environmentally friendly! "Compass Point Inn - King George Blvd"
My son and I enjoyed staying here for 5 nights. The location is fantastic, close to shopping (markets, groceries etc). Jakes Steakhouse has delicious meals and the servers are super friendly and humerous. Front desk staff are extremely helpful. If you get a chance take a visit to the spa in the hotel, I had one of the best massages in a long time. Not […] sure if the front side of the hotel would be any quieter than the back. We were in the back and it was pretty quiet til Friday night when the pub was busy. Overall if I were in the Surrey area again I would definately stay here again. Read more

The staff was exceptionally friendly and the room was both clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was great, and the pub in the building was a great time. I would not hesitate to stay at the hotel again in the future. Great value for a reasonable price!
This hotel was everything we needed for our stay. The staff was very friendy, efficient, and helpful. We definitely will choose to stay at this location again and will recommend it to our friends. Though beside a busy street the noise did not penetrate or disturb our sleep in any way. Thank you for a very nice stay.
"Wonderful and refreshing"
I have to say that the staff we meet were very friendly and helpful, the best part was that they smiled a lot they made us feel at home. Our room was always clean and quiet although there was a little traffic noise but with the room fan it did not bother us. It was a good price and close to the skytrain. But we got a lot more than we paid for in terms […] of service, cleanliness, and comfort. We are a family of four with two children and I can say the whole family loved it.
