Neighborhood is not the best, but we didn't have problems. Our bathroom wasn't the cleanest (mirror and faucet had grunge on them). We had to call 3 times to get towels for the room. Both clerks were great though. The one clerk had to deal with an unruly guest who was screaming at her because 3 hours before the posted check-in time, there wasn't a clean […] room available for her and she had a reservation. The clerk maintained her professionalism and was pleasant despite being yelled at. I was really shocked to find this was part of the Wyndham Resort rewards club membership group. The fountain in the check in area had grunge on it. There was an area that had a chained gate across it and tables etc haphazardly stacked. All-in-all though, the room worked for us. I liked that there is a fridge and microwave in all the rooms. I would stay here the next time we are in the area. Read more

I booked this hotel expecting to get an average hotel with basic amenities for a cheap price. However, I got a lot worse than I expected. The hotel breakfast was awful- the bananas were all green, the bagels were tiny and stale, and past that, they only had cereal and coffee. Possibly the worst Days Inn I have ever stayed at......begin with the back parking you get a feeling of it not being secure. The rooms are drab at best and outdated. The breakfast .hmmm well i wouldnt know , I could not get any the breakfast ends at 9:30 and myself and other guests arrived that time and slightly later, at 2am spring daylight savings […] time kicked in and some got late but rather than take this into consideration we were met with a surly unkept young lady at the desk that offered only attitude and even though some items were still in cabinets unlocked she stuck with the 9:30 rule, and offered no form of simple hotel Guest service. The staff in general seemed unorganized and rude, no uniforms, no smiles no greetings upon arrival and a lack of knowledge of the area. I could not leave that hotel quick enough. For $50/night it was perfectly adequate and suitable to having a cheap place to stay within walking distance to the University. Just don't do anything that would get your face within 3 inches of the floor and there's nothing to gag about.

Hotel clerk was very helpful- tell them when booking that you're there in re patient at Shand's and you get a discount.made coffee for me an hour before the breakfast buffet started so I could face the day at the hospital

The blankets had burn holes in them. The shower scalds you when anyone in another room turns on any water. Even when the hot was completely turned off the water came out scalding hot.

The value of this hotel is not bad, but unless you really need it's location I'd look elsewhere. Many of the rooms do not smell good, there will be plumbing issues, and it's really just worn down and desperately in need of renovation.

There was a large stain on the carpet in our room, looks like somebody puked, and they just tried to vacuum it up. There were very few rooms filled, even though it was a game weekend. The price was absolutely absurd for the quality of the hotel. The staff was courteous, and the free breakfast was not bad.

The hotel is run-down in all areas - rooms, grounds and lobby. It looks as though it needs a major renovation - or just tear it down and start over. The A/C worked fine, but everything else was dismal - paint was peeling everywhere, holes in the walls, bathtub drain plugged up during shower, water pressure would cease when flushing, hair dryer didn't […] work and much more. At least the sheets were clean, and bed and pillows were comfy. I cannot believe Days Inn would allow their name to be used on this hotel. And the price was exhorbitant, even for a football weekend. Some of the prior reviews tell of this horrific hotel. Well, having stayed 2 nights while attending a game it wasn't that bad. The room was clean, the service was good. Yes, the property is older, but for the cost it was a good value.

Mold on ceiling in bathroom, over shower, headboard was coming apart, and had black tar like glue all over the place. Mattress was stained very badly. we traveled to Gainesville to install our son in his bedroom. I shall present only the facts. when we got to the hotel, the lobby was closed and had a "no vacancy" sign in the window. front desk girl was inside sitting on the couch and barefoot. five minutes after knocking on the door, she just opened a small window and gave us the keys to the room. […] The room smelled horrible, after searching for a while we found rotting food in the microwave. The towels were gray and dirty. The bathroom smelled as if they had urinated on the floor. The beds had one sheet and the mattresses were dirty and stained. I doubt they have cleaned the place before. the stairs were dirty and the pool water was green and slimy. I have pictures to remember and prove my story. I can accept that the place is old and dirty Quite disgusting and unacceptable. It was impossible to sleep because the noise from the other rooms' toilet and shower, We disconnect the alarm clock because it was broken and sound three times. I have traveled all over the world and am not a finnicky person, but this is the most disgusting hotel I have stayed in in the United States. I would expect this in some war-ravaged third world country, but not here. Room stunk of urine, shower black with mold, showere ran hot and cold randomly, walls switches-every surface filthy black with grime. […] I had no choice but to linger as it was college check-in weekend for UF and I needed to stay in town for my daughter and there were no rooms within 35 miles...believe me I tried. Good comfort for the price. If you are looking to stay in GNV with free breakfast, internet and clean hotel rooms, I would definitely recommend Days Inn. The location is also very convenient to the university and other places in the area.
