I had problems with Car rental reservations at O'Hare. Night staff arranged for a shuttle to come pick me up from airport. They also arranged for a shuttle to the Navy RTC graduation the next day.. Excellent service by night staff...!! I also had maintenance issues in the room that were resolved the next day.

I felt that the Days Inn Great Lakes was a very good option as far as wanting to be as close to the Navy base as possible. In addition to the convenience of of the hotel location, the room and hotel in general were clean. The quality of the hotel service was overall average: above average at less busy times. Likewise, there are a variety of restaurants within 2-3 miles of the hotel and even cab service from the hotel to the base is extremely economical due to the close proximity of the hotel. Additionally, it was a plus to be so close to the base, since there was still a certain time that liberty ended. This allowed more time to spend with our Sailor and still get them back on time. While this is not a 5 star hotel by far, considering the price, location, and related benefits, I would recommend this establishment. Read more

Our stay was ok for the reason we were there. Room was remodeled but not the greatest you get what you pay for. Close to a busy street so it was a little noisy, they didn't have any clean wash cloths the next day and I don't like other people's hair in the tub.

Stayed here Christmas Eve and Christmas night, which might account for the lack of service (lack as in we were checked in and out, nothing else). The cleanliness of the hotel was marginal. First of all, I was upset because this hotel did not have available to the guests a computer to print our boarding passes on. The second morning there was no coffee in the breakfast area, and if you wanted to make a waffle, there was no syrup to put on it. I chose this hotel based on location to the Naval Base Great Lakes (for a graduation) and was not happy with my choice. For the money I paid the hotel was not in good condition and did not have the services or amenities I would expect. The carpet in the lobby and halls was very dirty and old, the ice machine didn't work, and the girl in the office could […] only give me a little out of a back freezer to keep my milk cold. The business center with printer was "under renovation" according to the front desk, but I didn't see anywhere they would put it anyway. I had to go next door to another hotel to print my parking pass for the graduation and I was disappointed I didn't stay there instead. We had a pretty good stay with Days Inn, the staff was very kind and courteous and the free breakfast included was really good. We had a couple of technical issues in our room - lights not working correctly mostly - but otherwise it was a great stay and a completely convenient location to be able to pick up our Sailor on his weekend liberty.

My experience at this hotel was dreadful. Management and staff was unprofessional and the uniform attire was untidy. I came with family and friends for my son's Navy graduation ceremony. The greeting we got at the front desk was the hostess telling us not to get any stains on the towels or we'd be charged for them. It was non customer-friendly right from the start. Then the key cards quit working over and over, for everyone in my group. This was a great hotel for a quick one night stay, no frills required. It is within a few short minutes of the Great Lakes Naval Training Station, so it is well used by soldiers and their families coming to watch their loved ones graduate from boot camp. Checking in the service was great. During the stay, we had a couple situations that the clerk was extremely rude. Breakfast was very limited and not much seating, they were horrible aout cleaning up after guests in the food area. There was no iron or ironing board in room. No coffee maker in room even though the coffee and condiments were. The television reception was the worst, it kept freezing and shutting off. The really only good thing was the limo service offered to the Navy Base.

For the area, the hotel was okay. The room was adequately spacious and was reasonably priced. The shower curtain was too short and not wide enough to fit the shower. The wall facing our beds (tv wall) contained two significant unfinished drywall patches. I don't know if the repairs were new and not yet completed or if the repairs were made quite awhile […] ago, but we weren't made aware of construction being performed on the room. The continental breakfast was okay, but the bananas and peanut butter bars weren't replinished after they were gone. Besides the ice machine I mention below, our room was very close to the back door. When patrons entered or exited through it, it would close very hard and shake our room. Room 169 should be used for something other than a patron room. We had reserved 2 rooms. The rooms were so far apart from one another. They say you are supposed to get free wifi. Well if you have a room that's close to the reception desk you will get it. But our room was at the opposite end of the hotel and we couldn't ever get it. We asked the guy at the front desk about it and he was so rude. Also the walls are […] so thin.
