Should have done more research before I made the reservation! Was not real happy that the room doors were in the open like one you would pay for on an hourly rate. The enclosed stairs to get to the 2nd floor was disgusting & smelled extremely vile I purchased air freshner just to make it through. The room itself was ok it seemed clean & it served its […] purpose. When taking a shower it sounded like you were playing the tuba which was very disturbing. The room cards were an issue, they only worked once & being that the room was on the very end I had to drive back to the office & get it programmed again. If price is an issue than this hotel will be fine. They need to update the rooms & how to get to those rooms as much as they've done the lobby because it does not compare!! Read more

The staff was very nice. The sleeping area in the room was fine. The bathroom was very outdated and kind of dirty. There seem to be a large party atmosphere in the restaurant area and I ran into three sets of couples making out in the parking lot at various times definitely not a place for young children. Lots of noise with loud guests.

The hotel seems like it could be updated. The entrance, lobby and breakfast room are nice and clean and presentable. However, the rooms are not that great. Our room had an odd odor that we couldn't place, seemed like the carpet was sticky or wet, and the bathroom was the worst. The tile in the shower needed a good scrubbing, there was black in between […] the tiles. The shower itself wouldn't go on completely from the tub setting, when we pulled the lever up, we only got half pressure. There wasn't any single dealbreaker about this hotel (like bedbugs or staff that steal from rooms), so in a pinch, you could probably stay here without running into major problems. But the overall experience was disappointing. The exterior and interior were not clean (for example, the sink had not even been wiped down since the last guest). The corners […] of the boxspring were frayed and it looked like it needed to be thrown away. I had to walk back and forth (maybe 500 feet or so each time) five times between my room and the office to finally get working key cards. They kept remagnetizing the cards and telling me to try it again. Without warning, the repair staff came and started fixing the lock while I was in the room. When I checked out, they charged me double and I had to notice it and ask for a refund. The "free WiFi" was extraordinarily slow (worse than a 56k modem... remember those?). I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel! For the low price, compared to the surrounding hotels, I really didn't know what to expect. Motel is old but reasonable and takes pets. I believe that they were near capacity. We didnot eat or drink there only sleep.The cable Tv was down all night but they were working on it. The bed was very comfortable.

The room was very dirty. There was garbage along the wall and behind the night stand. To close the door to our room you literally had to slam the door because it was rubbing so bad. Our air unit didn't work so a maintenance personel had to come and replace the whole unit at 9:30 at night. Then to top it off there was a band playing out side at the motel […] bar till 11pm and then music kept playing well past midnight, needless to say we didn't get much sleep. Only issue we had was the pool was shut down. Even though our stay was after Labor Day, I called and talked to the mgr., Ron. He assured us the pool would be open due to the warm weather. We pulled up a week later for our stay to find the pool had been drained. The main reason we stay there is for the outside pool.

Have stayed in many hotels over the years some very nice and some not so nice. The Dubuque Days Inn is a middle of the road, no frills spot to spend the night. The room was clean and the air conditioner was in working order. We didn't stay for the Continental breakfast so cannot speak to the quality of the food. I will stay again if in the area.

Check-in took awhile because there was only 1 person working at the desk and it must have been prime check-in time. There were no hassles in regards to checking in our dog-we just had to pay the extra $10 fee. Once we got our room keys, we were surprised to find someone's belongings in our room. Once […] we received the right keys, we found our room and everything was okay after (we did keep our expensive items locked in our vehicle when we weren't in our room incase the wrong room key thing would happen again). The continental breakfast was great-we always love the homemade waffle makers :) As far as room cleanliness, we did find that the area next to our bed had not been vacuumed in awhile as we spotted a pill in-between the bed and the nightstand. Otherwise, the cleanliness of the room was very acceptable.
