We will definitely avoid a Grand Chancellor hotel the next time we look for a hotel. The room was uninviting, bare, cheap, and was very loud with the elevator operating a few doors down from us. We did pay extra for an ocean view which seemed to be the only nice thing about the experience. The concierge was very friendly and we thank you them for their […] suggestions and assistance. We also did not appreciate having to park our car ourselves with no valet parking. We tried going to the restaurant twice but both times it was empty so why bother. Once we arrived we were offered a larger room for a cost, we accepted and the room was what we expected. They even validated our parking tickets so we had a saving there. The rooms need some attention as they are getting on otherwise very clean.

I asked for an ocean view room and was not disappointed at all, the room was clean, tidy had all the amenities that were promised on the website. We were very close to the main bars and restaurants which were a very short distance to walk to. The Courtyard Marriott in Surfers is quite a friendly hotel, but the place itself is tired and dated. The furnishings and carpets are very old, and there are a lot of stains and a general feeling of untidiness. Got my room with the Ocean View on 24th floor. Nice view and spacious indeed. Glad I booked the room with buffet breakfast, but turned out the breakfast wasn't that great for what I was expecting at the extra cost. There is a large chain-store supermarket at the basement of the hotel building that you can always get food for breakfast on the night before […] (do that because the supermarket doesn't open that early in the morning). I had to ask for a toothbrush set which was a bit inconvenient, as I thought they would provide it without me asking. Never mind, it wasn't a big problem. Dinner wasn't a problem. There are lots of eating places just outside the hotel. However, I found the best cuisine was actually a Japanese restaurant called "Y_______" located inside another hotel. You must go and try it. I stayed here for 4 nights. Staff were friendly. I felt quite relaxed and comfortable whenever I get back to the hotel. It is also 5 minutes walk to the beach and conveniently situated in the centre of Surfers Paradise. Recommended! Read more

It was perfectly acceptable for a one night stay in the middle of a holiday. However, for a romantic night out we were disappointed in that we requested a king bed and got two double beds. We understood that the king bed was a preference and not guaranteed, but two doubles did not compensate. A Queen would have been acceptable. Hotel was walking distance to the beach and shopping areas so the location was great. Room was clean and simple but still comfortable. Room service menu was delicious and highly recommended but there are lots of restaurants close by too. Would stay there again.

I wish I had known there would be no internet here. I could not contact my family using email/skype or check my seminar details for which I was travelling. After a long, hard and busy day I had to go to Mc Donalds just to get wifi internet. The hotel did not compensate for this. Location inconvenient for business trip. Much more tourist hotel and wouldn't have gone out by myself after dark from location. Right in the middle of Surfers. Would be good if you wanted something close, but getting in and out due to the roadworks was difficult. Always have previously stayed at Broadbeach and will be sure to book there next time. The hotel is very busy with a high turnover of guests. the staff were helpful. General cleanliness and room comfort were fair. Stayed in refurbished deluxe room but bathroom very basic and did not appear recently refurbished. More 3 star than 4 but comfortably basic. No wifi access in rooms included.
