This is a pleasant hotel, though perhaps a little pricey. Very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived early (check in 4:00 not the standard 3:00) so we left and they very kindly phoned us a few minutes later to say our room was ready. Worst television quality I have seen in fifteen years, but when you have a great view and a pond full of ducks, a marsh […] full of herons and great sunsets to watch, who needs tv? Complimentary breakfast was a lower standard than most hotels are offering these days, but adequate, and there was always coffee and tea available in the lobby. All in all a nice stay, and I would probably stay again, just for the view. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Empfehlenswertes Hotel in Chincoteague"
"Pleasant last minute getaway."

I procrastinated in booking a motel for a short getaway, but was pleased that the Comfort Suites had a room available. The booking attendant was pleasant and helpful. Upon arrival, we were earlier than check in time, but we were welcomed to use the restroom, indoor pool, etc. Also, took our cell phone number so that we could know when room was ready. Call came before check in time. Check in was smooth. Breakfast was standard hot continental, plenty to choose from. Check out went sooth as well.

We decided to stay at the comfort inn and suits because if the great reviews on trip advisor. The hotel staff and very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and the view was amazing in the morning you could see dolphins and the sunsets were beautiful.but there were some disappointing parts to the hotel . First there is not bath wash there is a bar of soap to use for the shower and the sink. So we ended up going to the dollar store and getting bath wash and some shampoo because the hotels bottle is to small for a family of four. Second the indoors pool chlorine level is to high and just being in there will make your eyes water. When they clean your room it will take for ever we left the hotel at 9:30 and could see that they were cleaning rooms but when we came back at 2 the room still isn't clean so we went to the pool and then at 4 the room still isn't clean it shouldn't take that long to clean rooms. And the "wi-fi" is Basically non-existent unless you are on late at night. Over all I had an ok time at this hotel and would most likely not be staying here again.
"Nice hotel, good location"

We booked this hotel last minute and were pleased. The views of the water were very pretty. The breakfast was what was expected. The rate was high but I think this is the case anywhere on the island. It's location is perfect for walking downtown. My husband thought the decor looked like a nursing home :) The bed was comfortable. I would recommend this hotel!

We were travelling with our three children and my 73 yr old mother with disabilities and our trip was very spontaneous and Comfort Suites turned out to be very accomodating. We were looking for a suite with a kitchenette but vacancies were hard to come by at the last minute. We were able to book the Presidential suite which we were told would be very comfortable for all of us and we were very pleased and thankful to not have to get an extra room. Dana at the front desk was extremely helpful and accomodating so kudos to her for her professionalism and kindness! the location of this hotel is ideal, right on the water, great view, and right on the Main Street, and the comlimentary breakfast was perfect to start off the day. Now for the room which we stayed in which was priced at $399 a night...the presidential suite. It was huge and it had a jacuzzi, but otherwise, this room is the only reason why my review is not a five star review. The room was spacious but there was so much wasted space. It did sleep all 6 of us comfortably...one king size bed and two pull out couches. However, there was absolutely no privacy. The couches were back to back...ok so we could get over that, we were just so thankful to all be together and to have found a room! There were two flat screen tvs at opposite ends of the room which was awful considering, the kids would have their cartoons on and moy mother wanted her programming and to be caught in the middle of that was just craziness. It drove me insane. We joked about pulling the couches into different rooms. The foyer was huge with a closet, but could've also been an extra room for sleeping. The bathroom was huge but would probably of fit a couch in there as well. so the sleeping accomodations for lack of privacy were awful. The king size bed was comfortable but the pull out couches were horrendous!!!! On one mattress, you could feel the bars beneath and the other one, the head was lower than the feet...so uncomfortable and the sleep quality was awful. The next night we tried to sleep with the couch cushions underneath the head of the bed mattress. It was a bit more comfortable but caused us to sleep in almost a 45 degree angle the whole night long. The kitchenette was far from that. It did come with a microwave and a blender????? no dishes. just cabinets for decorative purposes. The refrigerator was terrible. It did not get cold so we called the front desk and they replaced it soon thereafter which we were very grateful for however the next fridge wasn't any better. The fridge is located in a cabinet and would cause it to constantly overheat so to get it to any level of cold, we had to constantly keep the cabinet doors open. All of that being said, the room was on the bottom floor and was helpful for my elderly mother who has problems walking. The view from the room was spectacular and we had a balcony that wrapped around two sides of this room and the pool was right outside. It was a definite answer to our prayers on such short notice. The housekeeping staff did a wonderful job and we saw the same groundsman taking care of the pool every morning working so hard and diligently and when we engaged him in conversation he was very pleasant and so kind, his name was Daniel so he should be commended as well! The internet connection did not work as well in our room because of the distance from the main server in the lobby and there were some areas throughout the suite that did need some repair. The bathroom seemed a bit unfinished around the tub area and the floorboards near the door were dirty and splashed with something. The only thing that would need updating is the layout of the room. All in all, again, we were thankful for the accomodations, the staff was professional and pleasant, location and view were amazing, price was a bit much. If we did come back we would book earlier and possibly look at other area accomodations but we would stay again.
"Okay Stay at the Comfort Suites"

The hotel itself was fine, though our complaints were the shower pressure was very weak and I noticed a LOT of dust and areas that had not been cleaned (headboard, dresser behind the TV, etc.) for a long time. If the money is available, updating the rooms would be a good choice. The decor is very outdated, especially in the bathroom. Our bed was also very creaky and with an infant sleeping in our room with us, we had to be very careful getting into bed so as not to wake him up. That, to me, means the mattresses/box springs should be replaced. Otherwise, our stay was adequate but not exceptional. One highlight was Lisa, a front desk associate, who was very helpful with suggestions for enjoying the annual Pony Swim, especially because we have an infant and had to be mindful of him. The hotel is in a nice area (right on Main Street) and we enjoyed the pool and sunset views. The breakfast was also nice, though often crowded (probably typical for Pony Swim week).
The family came down on a whim and stayed one night. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly. There are 5 of us and it is sometimes hard to get a room without feeling squished. We were very pleased with our room and the space. The view was gorgeous. We will be staying again.

After checking in and going to our room. I immediately went to the front desk and asked for another room. The room we were given was large, absolutely spotless but had a very small partial balcony. The balcony overlooked the smelly retention pond with a slight view of the bay. The lady at the front desk told me she could not give me a different room at this time. I was disappointed. The hotel was in a great location. we walked to restaurants, ice cream parlors and stores. It was a short drive to the ocean. They also offered a great breakfast we enjoyed every morning.

My wife and I came down for our anniversary which was suppose to be just us lol But we ended up bringing our daughters with us. We stayed in the presidential suite. All I can say is WOW! It's definitely one of the best rooms to stay in while on the island. Awesome views! The staff was exceptional. Special thanks to the general mgr and asst general manager for making our stay as pleasant as possible.
"Great family vacation"

We arrived for our first visit to Chincoteague and hit the jackpot with this hotel. We stayed in the large suite, which we felt was well worth the price, and we all loved it! My family loved the space, comfort, views, and the convenience of the kitchen and oversized bath. Staff was friendly and helpful and we were within walking distance to downtown. The beach is about a 5 minute drive. We are already looking forward to visiting again!

Lisa was wonderful and accommodating. All staff was nice, even though it was the pony penning weekend and you could tell they were putting in extra hours. Clean and amenities were good. Location was near restaurants and things to do. Would stay here again!
