The absolute WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. The people in the next unit had their TV on full volume day and night. The walls were so thin I couldn't get a break other than to blast my TV full volume. That and get ear plugs. PLUS the cards to get in and out of your unit didn't work - twice I had to go get replacement cards. NOT fun when it's cold […] and dark and you just want to crash in bed. I should have gone to the Governor's Inn across the street. It was close to the wedding I had to attend and I didn't want to pay the high hotel cost of the Citizen but I should have read more reviews before settling on this place. Read more

We liked our room very much, it was huge! Just make sure to put your "do not disturb sign" on, the maids where checking the room by 8am.

a group of us visit Folsom prison, hotels are pricy in Folsom. So this time we decided to stay in sacramento, the reviews were bad for this hotel but i called and they put us at ease. we travel with to kids so we have to stay at a clean safe place. I had a very comfortable suite. The only problem was the furniture. The couch had three burn holes and several stains, and one of the desk chairs was stained. I found out they are in the process of remodeling that wing of the hotel, and the work was underway when I left. A new Denny's coffee shop is opening across the street and a steak house and bar-b-q […] restaurant have opened since my last stay. The internet service was very slow and not dependable. Also the bathroom was tired. Some mold growning in the corners of the tub:(The breakfast was great , loved our room with the mini kitchen, easy access to major hiways. I would recommend it.

The location and rates were our main issues in finding a place, but everything else was also fabulous. The facility was lovely overall and our room well appointed. Friendly staff, great breakfast and lots of elbow room made it a perfect stay.

My rating would be higher but the hallway carpeting was so filthy and there was a smell in the hallway that I think it tainted my opinion of the room. We had reserved a King and ended up with 2 queens so that was disappointing, I was told that was what Expedia reserved, although I had the Expedia reservation and it said King, supposedly they were sold […] out so we ended up with the 2 Queens, the beds were comfortable though. Breakfast was a buffet and we were told there was eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, pancakes, etc. There were no hashbrowns, the sausage was all gone at 7:45 (buffet ran until 10) so we were going to wait for sausage then they ran out of eggs while waiting for sausage so we left and went to Mimi's. Not a bad place, lots of noise from doors slamming, for the price it wasn't bad, but would try something else first. If they would just clean the hall carpet my opinion would probably be better, it just set a bad tone and then the wrong beds too. Read more

Place was nasty, beyond dirty. Not a nice neighborhood. Homeless people outside the door picking through garbage. Carpet was soaking wet when I arrived in the room. Only bright spot was front desk clerk when I arrived.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room/bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room. The free breakfast every morning was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had. Lots of variety. The location was decent. It was close to downtown. We took a stroll through Old Sacramento and we did a tour of the State Capitol both […] of which were only a short drive from the hotel. There weren't a lot of places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. Another negative was that the pool was not heated and I swear I read somewhere that it was. It was o.k. The room was semi-clean and the carpet had stains. The outdoor stairways had trash, e.g., cig butts, paper, leaves, & some sort of water stains. The indoor carpets in the hallways to all of the rooms were full of stains. It just didn't look clean. Breakfast was good & it met my needs.

I would recommend this hotel although my feet got so dirty in the hotel room after I took of my shoes within minutes. The breakfast is very good and the staff is nice and the pool is COLD, I loved it. They do have some rust on the bathroom fixtures and there was some type of yucky stuff on the walls by the door by the bathroom.

Great place, full breakfast (hot). I really can't complain about location, I chose that particular location because it is directly across the street from my son's apartment. The area is full of homeless folk who at some point became a bit much. We had to give up on walking and go somewhere else in the car.

Room was spacious and close to Sacramento Airport. The free breakfast buffet was good. The rooms are spread out through several wings so if you have a lot of luggage, make sure to park near your wing.

This place was nice, clean, and quiet. We stayed on a Wednesday evening. They had a free dinner, free breakfast, and the laundry machines were cheap. The ice machine worked well. They even had a shuttle to take us to the airport or Amtrak station. It was a great place to relax.

The maid tapped on our door, and then immediately opened our door as I stood there in my underwear. Maybe she didn't hear me day "yes" I'm here, but after seeing me she didn't bother to apologize. Quite rude. The next morning, there was a tap on our door (9:30am), even though check-out was scheduled for noon, to see if we were there. She left and then […] came back an hour later. As instructed, we had inserted the "don't disturb" sign exactly where it should have been, but that didn't matter. We were left felling that the maid was more concerned with gettting us out of her way, so that she could leave for the day. Sure left a bad impression.......ruined our stay. What a shame. Read more

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room was spacious, the staff was great and made sure my request for a wake up call and shuttle to the airport was done. We happened to be there on the night of the Manager's reception. It was wonderful, we had a great time. The breakfast was good. Will stay again and tell our friends.

Although my room was far away from the lobby, it was a nice room. Having a frig and microwave was nice. The pool and hot tub were well maintained. The lobby bar closes at 9, but the bartender is great. The fitness room is also nice. It is a drag that there are no restaurants or bars in the surrounding neighborhood.

I stayed at the hotel two weeks ago. The rooms were well kept and spacious. It was close enough to the Cal State Sacramento. It was easy access to and from the freeway. My only complaint were the spider webs surrounding the stair case on every level.

When I checked in I had to wait 45 minutes for a clean room. They said check in was at 3 pm. When I got into my room the a/c was broken. They moved me to a new room that was a huge downgrade. I really like this hotel, have stayed many times, but this experience was not so great.
