A very decent, fairly new hotel in a good location. It is across the street from the old village. Minutes by car from Mystic River center. Don't expect much from the "Free Breakfast". Only limited items/selection are free. Others, you need to pay, even eggs. The room is contemporary, but the bathroom is very small. We had a lazy maid who left used towel and soap left in the bathroom. Overall, I would recommend to others.

We stayed at this hotel for one night to visit the Mystic Seaport. The room was spacious for my husband and my one year daughter. Although we booked a room with king size bed, the staff told us that only two double beds were available. However, there was a queen size sofa bed in the room and was big enough for my daughter to sleep not to worry about her to fall off from the bed. I loved the 40" plasma tv in the room and the modern style furniture. My only complain would be that there was no spa service in the hotel.

Having stayed at other hotels in the area. I was quite impressed with the modern amenities at the Hyatt. Most of the hotels in the area are stuck in the late 80's - 90's. The Hyatt was by far the best hotel I stayed in thus far in the area. I am planning my destination wedding to be held in 2010. I will be using this hotel for my guest. The continental breakfast could be spruced up a bit. However, the price, location, pool, rooms and service were top notch. I will be staying at the Hyatt as I return to the neighborhood in order to plan my upcoming wedding.

The pool was a favorite of the kids...although outdoors, it was WARM!!!!! The free morning breakfast was great!!! Things were replaced quickly and things were kept very clean! It was a wonderful thing to look forward to each morning!! The Hotel was also at a very good location between many of the sites we were visiting!! My husband and I stayed here for a family vacation with our 2 month old and our 18 month old children. I called during our drive up to request a crib be in the room upon arrival. A Pack N Play was already set up when we arrived, and we had brought one of our own. Even with these two cribs in the room, there was still SO much room to move around! We had a room with 2 double beds, a sectional sofa with ottoman, huge flat-screen TV, among the other typical amenities. The beds were super-comfortable, with nice, heavy (but cool) comforters. Bathroom countertops were granite. Everything was clean, clean, clean. The breakfast was good, too; they even had high chairs for the kids! My only complaint is that the breakfast room was a little small to accommodate the crowd and that they definitely cleared all the food/drink at 9:30 prompt, even though it was still quite busy! But overall we had such a great stay that we stayed an extra night and would LOVE to go back!

The hotel was amazing! However, hotels.com reported it was only 10.6 miles away from Mohegan Sun, which is why we chose this hotel.... I didn't do any additional research. I just looked at Hyatt's website and it says 15 miles from Mohegan. In actuality it was 20 miles from Mohegan according to our navigation. We were going to be driving late after a show and it was too expensive to stay at the casino. It would have been nice if the distance was accurate, since 20 miles was half of the distance to our actual home....

Will definitively stay there again. The rooms were in very good condition. They do not have a restaurant but have a computer terminal where guests can order hot meals at good prices and quality. Only two things I would change: 1. Not indoor swimming pool. It is outdoors and was closed during our stay. 2. The front desk employees were overwhelmed (1 per shift) with the front desk, preparing food (at night), replenishing the continental breakfast area, and the little Starbucks Coffee area. But they still managed to cover all the bases with very good service and without making guests wait that much.

Much better value than the only other 4 star hotels I found in the area, but lacked some of the expected ammenities in a Hyatt room (such as lotion, button repair kit, enough towels, and newspaper at the door in the am). The amenities are available - you just have to ask. Breakfast bar was average. Enjoy your stay.
