Fantastic location - within easy walking distance of all the best shopping, nightlife, restaurants, Victoria University and even Parliament. I stayed here on my vacation and it was amazing. The rooms are really nice and the beds were really comfortable. The staff was more than accommodating and friendly. Everything is in walking distance. It may be on the pricey side for some but it was an incredible place to stay. I plan on staying there again when I go back.

At checkin the hotel was seemingly unaware that I had booked a club level room even though my confirmation printout said as much. After about 10 minutes back & forth (and my request to speak to a male manager as opposed to the college girl I started out with) they relented (and apologized) and checked me into the club level room I had reserved & paid […] for. They flat out refused to provide me a free wifi login so I could also show them the email confirming the club level room as well (even though club level guests have access to free ethernet internet connections in their rooms AND free internet connected computers in the club level lounge). Checkin troubles aside, the hotel is VERY nice and an extremely convenient location. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here in Wellington AND availing yourself of the club level amenities which included the afforementioned free internet access (sorry, NO free wifi), an extremely comfy and well supplied club level lounge, & free access to their pool, hot tub, sauna, & health club facilities- which in & of themselves are great before/after a long flight. The club lounge breakfast is more than ample and the free coffees and soft drinks all day are great with varied offerings to choose from. Throw in free drinks at night along with evening snacks & you got a winner here. Try to book the 9th floor nearest the lounge if possible (as opposed to the 8th floor). The staff was helpful but could have been more knowledgeable about local places/spots, etc. The NZD $35 pre-arranged private car to the airport is MORE THAN worth it as a metered taxi will cost about the same. Overall a 4.5 out of 5 in my book. Read more

Hotel could do with a bit of an upgrade, it is OK but a bit dated. The restaurant service was not too flash 20 minutes for the entree to turn up, and then another 75 minutes for the main to appear. after that I did not have time to order a desert. Love this hotel and love the location. Outside of Cuba Street but just a 7 minute walk away makes it very convenient and lovely to stay at. Nice quiet evenings and a wonderful staff makes this the perfect place to stay.

Fantastic sized room, plenty of comfort with a good outlook. Breakfast was really expensive in the dining room on the basis that it was only a continental! I would not stay there for the dining experience.

The InterContinental Wellington was only let down by one member of staff. As we drove into the front of the Hotel a member of staff was standing there, he ignored us, so we drove into the underground car park. Only after we had parked in the hotel car park section and booked in were we told that they had valet parking and someone should have parked […] the car for us. The Reception staff were exceptional, they offered us an upgrade, sorted out the parking, went over to the valet desk and checked in the car keys. Our room was quiet, clean, tidy, nicely decorated and had a city view. We used the business center for free internet access, printing, afternoon tea and breakfast. The business center staff were helpful and friendly. I would stay again at this Hotel on a visit to Wellington. Read more

Only 1 bath robe & shoes for 2 guests. The bathrobe had a large patched hole in it. They closed the pool 15 minutes prior to advertised closing time. Then staff lied and said I arrived 8 minutes before - I arrived at 16 minutes to 9 and am happy to swim for 15 minutes. She argued that it wasn't sufficient time. I DETERMINE that. Langhams pool is open […] until 10 pm. Food was only average. The location is fantastic. Indian & Chinese new owners need to really work on this place and restore the 5 star rating. Only 4 star now. Also Peppers at Lake Tepako was terrible. There is NO soundproofing between rooms and the bathroom fans which are frequently left on as guests go out and dont turn them off - are so so noisy it goes up 3 floors with noise. Read more

The hotel looks like it has been spruced up a bit from my last visit 5 years ago. Most of the improvements seem to be in the room, but not the bathrooms that still look a bit dated. Good central location in the CBD.

Absolutly wonderful hotel. All staff were friendly and effieicnt and the hotel itself is immaculate. In the centre of town but quiet with windows closed and A/C on. Did not eat there but drinks in the lobby bar were great and the spa/gym are a really lovely extra.Wonderful stay at an excellent price through Hotels.com.

The location was perfect, but the condition of the room was not way close to what I was expecting. The room is clean don't get me room, but just the interior was to old, it was like travelling back to the 90s. I hope the will spend some money on the interior improvment shortly.
