Have you heard of an airport hotel w/o a convenient shuttle service to the airport? Well, here is one. The shuttle leaves between 30 to 45 mins to the airport and it charges $6 to every passenger. I thought it was ridiculous.

Very pleased with hotel. Staff exceptionally helpful. Room very comfortable. Only complaint was that the carpet in the room needed to be cleaned. Quality of the food provided in both the bar and main restaurant were of very high quality and flavorful.

I stayed in the hotel for one night just before changing the flight. The hotel is conveniently located for the airport. Transportation to the hotel is not frequent. It uses other shuttle service which is charged extra on top of your stay. It costs $6 per person for the shuttle. The taxi service is $12-16 to the hotel. There's no convenient store at […] the hotel so you have to go outside to buy things if needed. Internet is slow and free for only 200MB. I hate it when they charge extra for more speed. All in all the hotel was clean and in good shape. The paint in the bathroom was chipping and the A/C didn't work. Not that I wanted or needed compensation due to the heat in the room, but it would have been a nice gesture. The room had amenities such as a fridge and a drink/snack bar. The hotel overall is perfect if you need a quick stay near the airport. But I wouldn't recommend it for anything longer than a night or two.There are no ammenities per se and the restaurant options are terrible. They have a bar, with no actual bar, only tables so they are taken quickly by individuls. The breakfast buffett was one of the worst I've seen. […] There is a cafe one block over but it's only good for breakfast or lunch. Fine place to stay if you're just there for the night... the outside of the hotel is very modern but our room looked like something out of the 1970s. Hotel has deteriorated since my last visit in 2007. Hallways need new carpet, paintiing to brighten them up. Service in diningroom fine as is food but atmosphere has not improved. Purchased "blind" as four and half star hotel property in Sydney. Disappointed to see poor ratings by other customers after being locked into to this hotel. Particularly vexing was lack of complimentary WiFi access and lack of free breakfast buffet. Compensated by purchase of weekly city rail pass from Mascot station 3 blocks away and commuted daily […] to CBD during my five night stay. Found free unlimited internet access at main library near St. James and Martin Place stations. Also can easily find some coffee shops w. free WiFi. Otherwise must pay high prices at hotel at more than $22/day. To compensate for high food prices at hotel and at restaurants bought food at supermarket located at Biondi Park city rail stop. There is also an IGA market not too far from hotel. Front desk and housekeeping staffs were very helpful efficient and friendly. Hotel furnishings are a little dated but functional. No CNN or BBC among channel selections on free in room cable TV. Free airport shuttle from airport but costs $6. to return. Read more

The Holiday Inn at Sydney was a clean and comfortable place to stay prior to leaving on our long flight back home. The only negative was that the breakfast buffet is expensive ($25) and there are no other options nearby. It would be nice if you could order something less expensive (e.g., a nice bowl of cereal and toast!)

This hotel was supposed to be 4.5 stars, but was old, not very clean and quite dated and run-down. I picked the hotel because it was close to Sydney airport, but I would have been better off taking the airport train into downtown Sydney, as the cost of a taxi to the airport hotel was $13, and there was not shuttle offered and walking was not possible. […] There was nowhere nearby to get breakfast in the morning except at the hotel. The staff were unhelpful, putting us in a twin room and only after we went to the room and returned to the reception were they able to offer us a queen room with disabled access/bathroom. Its very easy and fast to get the airport train straight to downtown Sydney, for very little more than the cost of the taxi to this hotel, where the hotels are higher quality, there are more options, more places to eat and the scenery is much nicer. This is a great place to stay before catching the long flight home to America. The rooms are large, clean, and room service is quick. The only down side is the $27 charge for 24 hours of internet service or $10 an hour. Come on Holiday Inn. You can get free wi-fi at McDonalds in Australia. It's time for Holiday Inn to enter the 21st Century. The Mascot […] train station is a short walk away and it's a 10 minute ride into the CBD. This was our second stay at this hotel. The hotel was clean and the room nicely furnished. Staff were friendly. I would have liked to have seen WiFi available in the room. These days many people don't travel with laptops and work from iPhones etc which don't allow for Ethernet connection. There appeared to be nothing around the hotel except office buildings but it is near the airport so that […] is expected. You can get a van to the hotel from the International Airport for less than $15 I believe - I got a taxi to the hotel from the International Airport and it was approx $25. For the price, it was good and I would stay there again if I needed to stay near the airport. There are two restaurants in the hotel. No salon or little shops etc. There is also a pool but I didn't see it for myself. in hindsight I would stay somewhere in town as there is the airtrain that takes you directly to the city from the International terminal for $15 (one way). Just bump over for a night for an early morning flight out of Sydney. Near the airport and accessible by an airport hotel shuttle. However, it would be great if the airport hotel shuttle is complimentry rather than paying AUD$6 per way.

Excellent location for a overnight stay if you are traveling to/from Syney airport. Onsite parking costs 15$ which was not too bad. We had an early flight so didn't have breakfast. the check-in staff were most helpful, especially as one of our pieces of luggage had a rip and they tried to help repair it. The early checkout staff were not so helpful, […] watching us take the wrong route to locate the car, which was odd as we were the only guests checking out and they had just validated our parking ticket. There is a bar attached to the hotel which was lively and served reasonable food. Our room was on the same floor as where some work was being carried out so there was some noise of builders doing refurbishment but this stopped late afternoon. WiFi was excellent. Close to Sydney Domestic Airport but overall condition of the hotel is poor. The Holiday Inn Brand needs to invest in a refurbishment.
