"They should call it the A...."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
For the price paid this hotel is totally worth the money. Free breakfast and no resort fees! Location right on fremont. Hotel staff were very nice compared to some higher priced hotels. Front desk was friendly at check in. Valet guys were nice. Breakfast was awesome. Room was a little dated and tired but for the rate paid it was clean, quiet and safe.
"Great Price, Poor Hotel Upkeep"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The room was a steal at the price, and it was right on the strip. Only complaints /i had were poor lobby lay-out (had to ask where the check in desk was) and poor room and elevator maintenance, the elevators shook so bad i thought we could plunge to the bottom at any moment.

This area has more lodging variety than The Strip. East of the Strip features both gaming and non-gaming properties that range from budget to luxury accommodations. "Weekend Getaway"
Great location just off the traffic of the strip. Hotel being nicely remodeled and the new spa is beautiful.

"travel with our dogs"
The hotel was very hospitable and accepting of dogs. The restaurant was very good and we ate most our meals there. It was a great stay.

"Las Vegas Casuarina"
Excellent service. Allowed early check in and late check out with no hassle and grace. Friendly, clean and an easy walk to the strip without having to be ON the strip with its congestion.
"Not a great hotel"
The hotel really was shabby like some of the other reviews said, The hair dryer was so disgusting I didn't even want to touch it. The staff was not exceptional at all. I go to Vegas at least once a month, and I will not stay here again. I did like the pool, but that was it.

"Three C's: Clean, Comfortable, Coffee!"
Can't really say anything negative about the Westin, other than the bathroom in our room needs a bit of a remodel -- it's showing its years, but was clean. The "Heavenly Bed" is wonderful, and it's great having a coffeemaker in the room. Check-in was a breeze, and the Westin has a free happy hour with light snacks and beverages. The hotel is VERY clean, […] and has close self-serve parking and free valet. It is not on the strip, but is a short walk away. Nice gift shop, restaurant, and Starbucks in hotel. Read more

"Not a great Westin"
Hotel is not in the best area for Vegas. Not much to walk to and not much in the lobby. Resort fee is annoying, especially since there isn't much of a pool. Old school televisions in the room - no flat screens. Carpet was stained. Overall there are much better options in Vegas, especially for biz travellers.
Love the no-smoking hotel aspect of this place and the heavenly beds!!
"Perhaps you find other Hotel with better benefits"
The staff doesn't worry in be friendly. The attendance in front desk is mechanical and slow. The swimming pool is small and don't offer confort to guests, even access the pool is paid. The rest can be valued as good.

"Not a bargain you expect"
After rates similar to most 4 star hotels at the strip, you wonder why dont you stay there. At most an average hote, that in some areas, smell filthy and unclean. Restaurants are average at best. overall not a good value for your money.
I liked the hotel but unfortunately my room on the third floor had the hotels main aircondition unit right outside/below my window and the noice was REALLY bad. Other than that I really enjoyed my stay.
My kids and I stayed at the Westin Casuarina over New Year's and had a wonderful time. Everything was perfect, and because it was a block away from the Strip, it wasn't as (ridiculously) expensive as the hotels on it. We walked everywhere, no need for a car. It's well located, too, because it's a block away from the Bellaggio and Paris hotels, so basically […] it's a block away from the middle of the strip. I would definitely stay here again. Read more

"Westin Casuarina Las Vegas-off the beaten path"
This was our second stay at this hotel. On our first stay the Westin appeared to be a no-nonsense business hotel that oddly enough catered to dogs and ws void of the obnoxious gambling. The "Heavenly Bed" feature was the best and caused my wife and I to return. However, on our second visit we were a bit disappointed. The Westin succumbed to the gambling […] lifestyle and filled there once serene lobby with gambling machines and tables. The once smoke-free environment had been violated by the now-smoking allowed bar area. I understand that when in Vegas you should expect to dwell within all the trappings of this gambling mecca. All I can say is that it would have been nice to stay at a hotel that momentarily gave you a break from the chaos. The Westin is no longer the oasis it once was. A few housekeeping issues were revealed during our stay: Broken shower head. Extremely slippery bath surface-Be careful! Room safe needed opening. Towels and bed linens not replaced. Coffee packets not replenished. No refridgerator key and when one was obtained we discovered the fridge was empty and dirty. Many of these issues were brought to the attention of room service who immediately addressed them in a timely manner. Read more
"Westin Casuarina-The right hotel for all your need"
My wife and I were very happy with our accomadations at the Westin Casuarina Hotel. The hotel is centrally located, clean and has all the amenities of the larger hotels. The hotel also allows pets, and our baby Cooper felt right at home. I would reccommend at stay at this hotel again.

"Classy Dog Friendly Hotel!"
Thank you for allowing dogs in your beautiful hotel. We stay at the Westin Casuarina primarily for that reason. We are willing to pay a bit more than we would otherwise for this convenience alone. The little dog walking area is also clean and in a shady location, which is appreciated. The staff was very accepting of my two little doggies, and I even […] had a few other guests comment on my dogs and ask if dogs were allowed, then saying that they would stay at the Casuarina the next time they visit Vegas with their dog(s). "Vegas Westin"
This is a great place to stay for the value. It is just off the strip but very easy to walk to the main strip area. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel had a small casino which was enough for a quick visit. The pool area was little small and thus crowded. The spa was gorgeous. The restaurant was very good as well although a […] little high in price but not enough for us to decline to eat there. Overall, it was a find for us and we will definitely be staying there for our next Vegas getaway. Read more
"West(in) is Best"
If going to Vegas to simply gamble, this may not be the hotel for you. If you are there for ANY other reason, stay here. Half a block off the Strip, the Monorail is just a short 5 minute walk away, and the Strip 2 minutes more. The front desk staff are amazing. Use of the day spa to freshen up after a long plane ride was offered up immediately when […] viewing the time between my arrival and my room availability. Late check out, also offered up by the front desk, was a treat that allowed me to enjoy my last evening. The beds are heavenly, and without a casino in-house, the hotel was quiet...almost a refuge...when coming home after a long evening of Vegas-style party. Read more
"no view"
Our room overlooked a construction lot and the large air conditioners. Looking beyond that, there were very run-down apartment buildings. At least the windows were dirty--then the window-washer came by . . . would have been nice to have been warned. Ultimately, the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was near enough to The Strip. The hotel staff […] was very nice. I would recommend this hotel. Read more

Great "pet friendly" hotel close to strip. Staff very nice. Rooms are clean and bed are comfy. Have stayed there before and would stay there again.

"Great for the price"
The hotel was just outside the main strip which I liked. It was about a 10 minute walk, I would be a little cautious late at night. But that's pretty much anywhere in Vegas. I like the hotel tucked away because the gaming tables always had room for players, and table minimums alowed for extended play. Over all I'd stay there again and reccomend it for […] anyone looking to save a few bucks on a decent hotel. Read more
"This hotel was not on par with other Westin's that we have stayed in. Very disappointed."
Room was just OK. Casino and downstairs area very dated.
"Needs Improvement"
Just okay
"Great place for a cheap price"
This hotel was worth the price we paid. It is about two blocks away from the main stirp. Everything is walking distance from here. The rooms seem a little outdated.

"Great Stay For the Price"
excellent facility, off the strip. Convenient Starbucks in lobby, convenient happy hour daily for hotel guests. Not smokey. It was a pleasure to be on business in Vegas and not to have to walk through three smokey casino floors and half a dozen stores just to get to my room after a busy work day. Great property for the money.

"Some Improvements needed"
The standard room that I stayed in lacked power outlets; I could not finding one near my bed to charge my phone with. I ended up using the one in the bathroom. The big furnitures like desk, chest of drawers made the room very elegant, but they blocked up a lot of power outlets. And because furnitures were big, a lot of trash fell behind them and was […] not cleaned up. Yes, they are covered and the dirty parts are not seen by most people. But I ended up discovering it when I went to the back of furnitures to find power outlets. It's quiet nasty behind there. Also, I find the wiring of power cables for just about everything in the room to be kind of messy. Like under the beside table, behind the big furnitures, and etc. It seems that every power outlet had an expansion device on it, and every power slots on the expansion are all full! Hence why I really had trouble finding an open outlet. Besides the above, the pool is nice (closes at 2 A.M.) which allows kids to play in the pool even at night. The hotel rooms really have a high-class feel to them, and bathrooms are well equipped. With the price, this hotel is a good alternate for hotels on the strip, but just be aware of a $15 service charge per day per room. Don't be surprised when checking in; it kind of surprised me that it's that high for service charge. Read more

"just 4 stars on the outside"
You can tell they are trying to make this hotel "look" like 4 stars. Their effort stops there. I would suggest staying in a nicer hotel off the strip and taking advantage of the many hotel's free parking on the strip. Don't waste your money here.
"Pleasantly surprised"
After reading other reviews on this hotel, I was hesitant about the booking. It is the only dog friendly hotel on the strip. The hotel room was very clean. The location was great. I would stay there again, with or without a dog.

"Neat location"
The staff was very impressive as if I were staying on the Vegas strip, the location was great away from the noice but only walking distence from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed our stay the only turn down was the worn down carpet but other than that, four star resort treament for sure...

"A Nic Stay at the Westin"
A very quiet, comfortable stay at the Westin, The beds are fabulous and the restaurant serves an excellent breakfast buffet. The staff is welcoming and helpful. For those who like to gamble at table games the tables do not open until 3:00 p.m. For those who wish to get away from the franticness of the strip the Westin is a great choice.
"Very Nice Room"
The room was very nice, without and ugly flower print wallpapers or bed sheets. Bathrooms well equipted with new bottle of water everyday, and selection of teas and starbucks coffies. The only minus was the hidden service fees, although not big, the web doesn't make it obvious that they will be applied later.
