We had a great stay at the westin hotel. It is close to the strip and an easy walk to Ballys and/or Harrah's. Rooms were nice, spacious and comfy bed. Restroom was very clean and we had really good water pressure in shower. Starbucks in lobby is a full size Starbucks. They were open 24/7 and they made my coffee perfect. We only ate at the reasturant […] once but it was really good. They had a small breakfast buffet that was yummy with fruit/bagels/biscuits and gravy/eggs Benedict/waffles/bacon/sausage/ham/potatoes/eggs and more. It was $20 and we liked it. We did pretty good in the casino downstairs. It was small and we played to kill time. We won $120 on slots in about 30min. All the staff was very friendly and we had no issues. Dog friendly. After a long day of driving, we checked in the hotel only to have them let us know that there was a mandatory $21 "facility fee" for use of the pool, workout room and happy hour food and drinks. As a Starwood Gold member, I was really disappointed by this hotel. The man handling the Starwood desk was rude and unfriendly and we immediately had a negative impression of the staff. Typically we receive an upgrade upon check in, but this did not happen. We also did not receive the standard gold amenity. The room itself was okay. "Valentine`s Weekend in Las Vegas"
We arrived on Saturday afternoon and the lobby was beautifully decorated with lilies and was fully staffed. Although there was a large crowd checking in, they came around and offered us bottles of water and assured us that we would be handled quickly. My family was looking for a dog friendly hotel while making a trip to Vegas. The biggest problem I have had in Vegas is that Casinos don't really care about the hotel part. The Westin does, as my 13 year old noticed right away. the room was clean, smelled good, looked great, and was comfortable. "Comfortable hotel apart from Strip chaos"
We chose this hotel for the special rate and proximity to the Strip. It was a 2 block walk to the Strip around a big construction site and some homeless who were very loud and offensive. Once inside the hotel was very comfortable - all nonsmoking and yes, the beds are very heavenly! Housekeeping forgot us on day 2 of our 3 day stay but the front desk […] very kindly waived the additional amenity fee of $19.95/day that every Las Vegas hotel charges due to the oversight. They accept pets (small dogs) and I was worried that my allergies would act up but the room was very clean and I had no problem. Parking is very close and convenient and one does not have to walk for miles with luggage through a casino to get to the front desk....and absence of lines at the front desk was a welcome relief as well. I booked this because it was really close to where we wanted to be on the strip but since I have a child, it was far enough to be away from the busy action. I liked the easy and convinient self parking and the fact that it was not crowded. I expressed my frustration and found that in fact there was a room available and the crib would be brought up later. We booked this hotel because it was dog-friendly. It was at a nice price point too. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and the lay out of the hotel. I'm not a fan of huge hotels. Our room at the Westin was really large. The pet-relief area was close by the elevators and kept clean with disposable bags handy. My "only" complaint and it's […] a small one, was we asked for a doggie bowl and they said they would require a $50 deposit. I figure since we paid for our Lucy $35 to spend the night, that a complimentary doggie bowl and pillow could be provided. The casino in the hotel is not that fancy, but that's fine with us. They had a complimentary happy hour with hors d'oeuvres, from 5:30 - 6:30. I would definitely stay at this hotel, even without our dog.
