Room clean. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast great. Location is not as close as I would have liked it. Fire station across the street and you can hear the occasional fire trucks but not a big deal. Desk personnel extremely helpful and accommodating.

Initially we booked the Congress Hotel, but after seeing poor reviews at 2.5 - 3 stars and rumors of it being haunted, I had to cancel and chose the Hampton. This hotel is something I wouldn't normally book, but at last minute and price we thought it was our last resort. We were given complimentary early check in which was fantastic! Abraham, the bellman, was the most helpful person during our entire stay. Everything was great UNTIL around 4 in the afternoon the housekeepers tried to clean our room while we were in it. We thought nothing of it. We were totally disappointed again with your service. We were given a handicap room where the shower overflowed. The plumber ended up throwing a wad of hair cleaned out from the drain into the toilet and just left it there. We complained about the room and asked for a change but the hotel was "full" at 4pm. The breakfast was inadequate and the hotel […] was overrun with kids in the halls, pool and breakfast. This is the 3rd survey that you have asked for regarding this experience, and none of the previous surveys I submitted violated your policies, so it is quite obvious that negative surveys are not really used. Stayed here while in Chicago for a concert at the united center. The staff was extremely helpful and polite! The room was a great size. The night life around the hotel was great and all in walking distance. Also the convience of getting in and out of the city was excellent!!!!

I stay in a lot of hotels in downtown Chicago and this place hands down has the best most consistent customer service experience. Everybody there genuinely and enthusiastically treats you well and not pretentious at all. Combine that with the price and you have a real winner. Keep it up guys!

Great service. Great breakfast. About a 4/5 block walk to MI Ave but easy. Some noise from fire station, but not to the point where you cannot sleep. Nice pool, hot tub and sauna. Easy valet service, quick to retrieve the car. Concierge was awesome! Gave us detailed info, always available.

When we arrived at the Hampton Inn & Suites on Illinois Ave. in Chicago, the Valet Parking person accidently rolled down my drivers side window (power switch was broke) , then said the window was already down. Complete lie because I would never drive from Michigan to Chicago with my window down in February. I tried several times to get the window to […] go up (hot wiring it, etc.) Attempt failed several times. One of the Valet people was able to get window to go up, but wouldn't share how he did it. (big secret, I guess) I thanked him and tipped him for fixing it. Then when we arrived in our room it was obvious that the room was not cleaned properly because there was an empty water bottle laying next to the one bed on the floor. When brought to the front desks attention, nothing was done about it. Then every time we would use the bathroom, the toilet would not flush properly. It would plug up. Front desk did nothing about this. Then when we checked out, we found out that there were (hidden fees) that were never mentioned when booking the room. Additional charges of $40 were applied for Valet Parking. Another shocker to add to our list of complaints. The Hotel is next door to a Fire Department. Seemed like every hour or so, all hours of the night, we experienced the Loud Sirens of fire trucks. Hardly got sleep. I feel that these things should be mentioned at the time of booking the reservations, so people like myself don't have to experience it the hard way. Read more

I have been all over the USA in all types of 3 to 5 star hotels and I can't say enough quality things about my 4 day stay here. For the hospitality that was showed to me and my wife this is the absolute best experience for the amount of money that I spent. The area and location were outstanding.
