Great breakfast and well appointed room. Only downside is the fire station that is next to the hotel. In the middle of the night the fire trucks rumbled out of the fire station with sirens blaring to go to a fire. Thought our hotel was on fire. Lots of surrounding hotels, so I guess they thought that, too. Liked everything else about hotel

"WONDERFUL HOTEL!"
I loved this hotel and I am extremely picky. The staff were wonderful, the breakfast was great (except I didn't care for the scrambled eggs). The room was magnificent! SO clean, which is my #1 thing I am picky about. It looked very recently remodeled. I plan to stay here on future trips to the city and will recommend to others. Also it was close to […] lots of great stuff, and metro and bus lines. Read more

"Hampton Inn - Wonderful vacation memories"
I visited Chicago with my 2 daughters (ages 9 & 18), and chose the Hampton Inn because of its location to the things we wanted to see (the Amercian Girl Doll store, Millenium Park and the Bean, and the Shedd Aquarium; as well as the price point & pool. The staff was friendly and let us check-in early when we arrived. The pool was nice (a bit on the […] cold side), and we enjoyed sitting on the outside patio. Beds were soft, and breakfast was great. I was afraid of the nearby fire station, however, we only heard them when we were walking outside. We had a nice time, and will come back! Read more
"Hampton Inn-- Downtown Chicago"
Great location, very clean, warm and friendly staff that accommodated a very early check-in. Will definately return!
"Hampton Inn Chicago"
The staff was kind and helpful and made for a pleasant experience during my stay in Chicago. This was my second time staying at this hotel, and would definitely recommend it to others for an affordable and centrally located hotel.
"Enjoyable Stay"
Breakfast was good. Friendlyness of staff was awesome! Our stay at the Hampton's was the cornerstone of our vacation in Chicago.
"Amazing Rate"
I found on a King Suite complete with a kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom for what I would normally pay for a regular room at a Hampton Inn. It was an incredible deal. The local area has lots of restaurants.
"Perfect for our family weekend in Chicago"
We loved everything about our stay at this hotel: the room, the staf, the breakfast, the pool, the location! Perfect for our family of five with three kids under 10 years. We could walk to many sites and have great downtime at the pool. Would highly recommend!
"The Staff at the HI & S downtown Chicago"
The Staff at the Hampiton Inn & Suites in downtown Chicago had to be one of the best at any hotel we have every stayed at! I would recommend this hotel to anyone that plans to go to Chicago.

"Great Hotel, only one problem..."
The staff at the hotel was great, the rooms were comfortable and nicely appointed. Just make sure you get a room on the side of the hotel that is furthest away from the Fire Department next door. Unless you find the sound of Siren's relaxing....
I just wanted to thank you for sharing the experience of your recent stay with us. Our team always strives to give the service our guests expect & deserve. I appreciate the comments as we are always looking for ways to improve the product and service we give our guests. I am sorry that you encountered outside noise during your stay. As with most hotels in downtown, street noise is something to be expected: Downtown Chicago is a dense, bustling city with lots of city noise including emergency vehicles that may be heard throughout the day. Most guests are not generally disturbed by the noise, but we realize that each person has their own sensitivity to it. For those light sleepers or to those not accustomed to city noise we do offer earplugs at the front desk.

"Great Location!"
My wife and I have stayed at the Hampton in many times. It offers a great location in River North and is easily accessable to the Red Line and many resturants, bars and night clubs. The staff is great, and the rooms are spacious and clean. It is right next to a fire station, but fortunately there hasn't been that many emergencies while we have stayed […] there. Read more
We stayed at the hotel in mid december and really enjoyed our stay here. location was great, everybody very nice.
"Block of 4 rooms"
Everyone at the hotel was nice. PArking is not cheap, but hey... it's Chicago. Good location, close to lots of nice downtown shopping and eats.
"Great Chicago Hotel, very good price!"
Excellent breakfast included, the lovely lady who takes care of the breakfast buffet is terrific. The hotel is walkable to everything, and great restaurants within walking distance. Would stay again for sure.

"Very nice hotel"
Very nice hotel, friendly staff and in a very good location. Will stay here again when I travel back to Chicago. The suite is great for a family.
"Close to everything but beware"
Nice hotel overall, however beware of street noise. No matter where you are in the hotel, you will hear the fire sirens all night long. The other problem is the heating/AC system. We stayed on a somewhat warmer winter day and the thermostat in the room means absolutely nothing. Regardless of where you put it, your room will not cool. We slept with the […] windows cracked open because it was so hot. Air circulation in the rooms is non existent. There are also many positives to this hotel. Location for one and cleanliness of the room. The linens were clean/spotless, beds were extremely comfortable and the breakfast service was ok. Not the best I've had better experiences at other Hampton Inns. Parking is very expensive - valet at $42 per night but if you go less than 10 feet from the hotel, there is a parking lot right next to the hotel charging $30. Read more

"Perfect"
I stayed from the 4th to the 8th of January and, from top to bottom, the hotel was one of the most pleasant hotel experiences of my life. Though not a businessman I have had the good fortune to travel all across the US and Europe and have stayed in a fair number of different hotels and, with the benefit of all of that experience, this one bested them […] all. I wish I could catalog everything that I thought worked well but among many thoughts: 1) The hotel was always clean and didn't feel "tired" at all. 2) The staff was exceedingly pleasant and went out of their way (from front desk to cleaning staff) to be courteous and helpful to guests. 3) The "little things" such as being provided complementary mints after breakfast on Sunday or having the cleaning staff not only clean my room but leave my things better organized than how I had left them. 4) User-friendly business center and a great complementary breakfast 5) No spotty internet (which is sometimes the case with "complementary wi-fi" in large cities) 6) Exceptional location (downtown Chicago) at a great price. Honestly, I was pained to leave it was so nice. Read more
"Fire alert!"
This was an outstanding hotel diminished only by its location across the street from a fire station that answered several calls per night.

"Not a single complaint"
We checked in right at 3 pm with no wait and two cheerful ladies behind the front desk. One of those ladies chatted with us every time we came in to the lobby over the next few days--she made us feel very welcome. The lobby was pretty and spacious, the pool was relaxing, the breakfast was great (with different options every morning). the location is […] fantastic (just a block and a half from the Red Line), but the staff were the best part. Everyone was nice, friendly, and helpful, from calling after check-in to make sure the room was satisfactory to handing out mints and refilling coffee at breakfast to just chatting about what to do and where to go. Every time I've booked a hotel through a third-party, I've thought "Oh I wouldn't mind staying here again." This hotel is different--I will be sure to book it next time I'm in Chicago. A+. Read more
"Hampton Inn & Suites, Chicago"
Nice enough suite. Breakfast could use some work! Staff could not even understand English so "whole milk" got me "microwave" in response! Food (esp eggs) pretty bad. Stick wtoast or bagel and you'll be all set. Hotel needs to somehow keep an eye on number of people atcually staying in a room as the 2nd night, we had quite a crowd next door - at least […] 8 that stayed overnight. Read more
"great price"
there was a fire station close but caused no issues. Great staff, good breakfast...
Have stayed in Chicago many times - by far the friendlist staff I've ever encountered in a hotel. Great breakfast, great pool, great rooms. Was convenient to Loop (near Red Line) and Michigan Avenue (walk about 3-4 blocks). Definitely plan to stay there again when traveling with family.
"Great Stay"
In Chicago for a mini-vacation with my wife. Hotel 3 blocks from all the shopping on Michigan Ave. Watched the Green Bay Packers game in one of the neighborhood sports bars and went shopping. Great sauna, pool and spa areas. A really surprising and wonderful breakfast in the morning. Would recommend and will stay there again.
"Convenient location and helpful staff"
It was a great experience except for a couple things; free breakfast was very mediocre, could have used a few more options/selections. Breakfast room was large, but was needed to accommodate full hotel. Hotel rooms were not equipped with a blow dryer. Found this very surprising. Our view was on the "alley side" not a pretty view but much quieter than […] front side which was on a fire station run. However front desk, bellman and valet staff were all very accommodating to our special requests. All in all a good value. Read more

We asked for an early check-in and the room was not ready at 4:00. The breakfast was very good and well-monitered. We would stay here again.
I recently stayed at this hotel on a business trip and was pleasantly surprised at how quiet my room was. Usually I expect quite a bit of street noise in Chicago, but my room overlooked the second floor courtyard which seemed to greatly reduce the street noise. The bed was extremely comfortable and the location was very convenient. I was also impressed […] with the staff who were very helpful and courteous. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Read more
"Best Hotel Ever"
My now husband (we visited this Hampton Inn for our honeymoon) and I will only stay at Hampton Inns when we travel, and this location was no exception! The people were so nice, it was almost a shame and the rooms were clean, welcoming and very tastefully decorated. And of course, the free breakfast was wonderful! We definitely enjoyed our stay and […] will continue to frequent Hampton Inns any time we choose to travel!!! Read more
"Hampton Inn -chicago northside of downtown"
The hotel was in a great location and easy to get to. I did have a problem with one of my neighbors being too loud at a too late an hour. I called the front desk and they responded quickly and talked to the other room. The only thing I wish that was different was that the pool hours stopped at 10pm. I was just ready to soak in the hot tub for a while […] after seeing the sights and it was already closed. Good hotel and the staff was friendly and helpful. Read more
"New Fav hotel in Chicago"
Close to all the clubs we love to go to! Great breakfast! Highly recommend! We will be staying there again!
"Overall good stay for your money"
My boyfriend and i spend the weekend here and at first we loved the location and the convenience of the parking service. However, the hotel is located right next to the fire department and we were not able to get any sleep because of the constant fire siren going off. Also, we were double charged for the parking service but were able to fix the issue […] right away. Overall not too bad . Read more

"Great location and service"
Staff was very nice, the hotel is very clean, in a great location and the pricing is very good (considering it's Chicago). I would definetely stay there again.
"OK but not good enough"
The staff was GREAT. Location good. Price - exceeded the deliverables. I've stayed in Chicago many times and this was by far the worst "bang for the buck". Room very average - included breakfast good, BUT the noise at night was very disturbing. The external noise from the Fire Station (next door) and the people shouting in the hall made sleeping less […] than pleasant. Not a place I would book again. Very disappointed. Read more
"Great value, great staff"
As a travel weary, road warrior, it is comforting to have my first experience a visually appealing entrance and genuinely upbeat, friendly and helpful front desk. They put the Hospitality back into the lodging experience. The morning breakfast room and business center were easily accessible and also traveler centric with the take away bag breakfast […] for early travelers. The electronic door was an initial challenge; however, maintenance responded in a reasonably timely manor. The weekend housekeeping may be encouraged to finish before 2:30pm, so guests can return to a cleaned room. Great value and a pleasant experience. Read more
"Excellent downtown home away from home"
We've stayed at the Hampton three times over a 10 year period. Great location, Good accomodations (including indoor pool, free breakfast, great staff, super suite room). For the price and location you can't beat the Hampton.
"Convenient walking distance to many Chicago sights"
The hotel room was pretty good..I didn't get the shower curtain, it didn't cover the shower..so water on the floor..the floor in the bathroom didn't seem clean to me. The pool was very warm..nice but made me wonder if fresh water was being piped in since I came to the pool 2 mornings in a row..before anyone else and there was alot of scum floating on […] top of the water on the 2nd morning..greasy thick scum...so obviously they didn't clean the pool yet..also the advertised sauna wasn't even hot enough to cause any sweat ..so what's the point of the sauna..when we inquired about the sauna problem they said..Yeah when they built the sauna they put in air conditioning vents in the sauna...imagine that..and they couldn't do anything about it...I say just get rid if the sauna its bad advertising since we picked that hotel because it had a pool and sauna...we were very disappointed in the sauna...w Read more

Staff was very friendly.....decent breakfast. Close to attractions, shopping and restaurants. Parking is expensive downtown.
Neat and clean, good breakfast, nice staff.
