Great location in a historic building. Request an upper floor room for spectacular views. I was able to walk everywhere i needed to go from this location. I had a true one bedroom suite for less than the price of nearby hotel rooms. Next time I'm going to Boston, I will look here first for availability.

Positives: Friendly, helpful staff; downtown location within easy walking distance to many sights, stores, and restaurants including the Freedom Trail and the North End; lots of choices for runners/joggers; amazing views from observation area; interesting history of the Custom House; the size of the rooms. Negatives: compared to the room, the bathroom […] was really small, especially when shared by a family of 4. Also, the Black Rose is right across the street. This is great if you want to grab a pint, not so great if you don't want your sleep disturbed by Irish music and loud bar patrons. To be fair, only certain rooms have this issue, and it was most noticeable on the Friday of our stay. We will definitely consider staying at the Custom House again. Read more

The staff was awesome! Everyone was so friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is in great shape, rooms very comfortable, especially the bedding. The views from the observation deck incredible and the location, can't say enough. We felt very safe even on St Patty's weekend in Boston! Thank you so much! We will be staying here again!

we thought it was fantastic, very convenient, clean, comfortable. We loved the kids room on the 21st floor - the toddler kitchen was a big hit with our 2yr old. The observation deck was great even though the weather wasn't.

we were very happy with our stay; clean and accomodating. i think if the room is for 4 adults you should provide towels for 4 people and also shampoo,etc. There should also be enough blankets for the pull-out couch.otherwise, everything was fine!

This is a great place to stay with its perfect location to explore Boston. The staff are very nice and attentive. There are only two complaints I have. One, the toilets are the noisiest flushing toilets I have ever heard. Seriously I think you could flush a car down the things. Secondly, we were on the second floor and were awoken at 2 in the morning […] when the bars closed. People screaming and yelling in the streets. I read this complaint from other patrons as well. Regretably, we only stayed one night. The Villa was nicely appointed and the bed up in the loft very comfortable. However, it was too hot to sleep due to lack of air. The window would not open so, the hotel stagant air made it impossible to sleep so, we left Saturday morning.

This hotel is located right by a bunch of bars that are very noisy every day of the week. Worse, all the upper floors are reserved for their time share owners. So you're very likely to be on floors 1-5. This means you won't fall asleep before 3am.

We loved this hotel. Location is fabulous and how many times can you step out of your room into an historic rotunda?! We stayed on the 3rd floor (called 2nd) in a loft room with 25 foot ceiling and bedroom in a loft area. Small kitchenette It was charming. We won't ever stay anywhere else. Just down street from Faneuil Hall and aquarium.

Try to stay on the second floor - two-story villa. Very accommocating and personal very patient even when I seem to asking lots of questions. Close to Quincy Market, Fanuil Hall, Waterfront. Would stay here again. They have breakfast and wine & cheese in the afternoon. Laundry is very convenient.

This was a beautiful place. It is also a timeshare and the 4th floor is the highest a person can stay to without being with a timeshare. The staff, room, view was fantastic. We could not ask for a better location. This hotel is directly across the street from Fanuiel Hall and Quincy Market Place and a short walk to the North End! The hop on hop off bus stop is also very convenient. For a wonderful, inexpensive meal make sure you check out the offerings at Fanuiel Hall. Three of us ate breakfast for $12!

Just a beautiful and wonderfully historic hotel. Great location. Terrific service. However, our evening was completely marred by the fact that our room (a) was on the second floor, and (b) overlooked State Street looking out towards Faneuil Hall. The NOISE was awful! Between the sirens and the drunkards and fights breaking out, we weren't able to get […] a wink of sleep. When meeting some other guests at breakfast the next morning, it turned out they didn't hear a thing -- they were located on the OTHER side of the building. So would definitely recommend this hotel -- but ONLY IF you can be sure to get a room higher up, and not on the Faneuil Hall side of the building. Good luck! Read more

We enjoyed our stay at the Marriott's Boston Custom House Villas. We were able to check in early on our arrival day and the staff was very pleasant about accommodating our early arrival. The views from the observation deck on the 26th floor were spectacular. The 360 degree views enabled you to see all around Boston and the harbor. The building is beautiful, the location was stellar (a block and a half to both the Aquarium and Fanueil Hall, North End Italian dining very close and a T Stop in front!) rooms were large and immaculate, and instead of a late check-out, we had the option of having the valet put the bags into our car and have it ready for our later in the day departure. […] Continental breakfast was a little better than the standard, and done as an a la carte affair. The top floors should be experienced - great views on top, nice exercise area, game room (with the clock's inner workings on display, and a free laundry area) and a nice children's play area. The one complaint - common here - is the noise from the surrounding and very popular Irish pubs. The crowd is going to well past 2am, the surrounding buildings are all about 8 stories, and the sound reverberates in the "canyon" effect on lower floors (we were on 6.) A higher floor, or maybe a TV or radio left on would help cure that. Read more

This hotel was almost perfect for our bachelor party group, the price is fantastic for the space you get and the hotel is very quiet. The staff provided an additional cot no problem. Only disappointment was the kitchen table, smaller than the hotels.com picture! Watch for the extra per diem for more than one car! Wasn't expecting that.

Very disappointed that we were only on the second floor given how far in advance we had purchased the room. Only reason why i wanted a higher room is because of the noise from the street from prior reviewers and […] they were right. the revelers party long and loud into the night and you could hear the noise from the street pretty clearly. other than that, our room was nice. again, i was expecting it to be two rooms but instead it was a loft room so even my friend and i shared the bed in the loft we could talk to our friends who stayed on the fold out couch as though they were right next to us. it would have been nice to have a separate room w/a door so if someone wanted to stay up and watch tv we wouldnt have disturbed the other people in the room. the service was great and the location could not be beat. the observation deck was great and we did use the pool at the long wharf down the road which was really nice.
