"Won't be back"
My wife and I stayed at this hotel during our trip throughout South Florida. We typically stay at the W in South Beach; however, a colleague recommended the Impala for a great boutique hotel experience. Initially, I was very impressed with the decor and cleanliness. The hotel appeared small, quaint, and cozy. We enjoyed our stay until we encountered […] the extremely crude and unmannerly hotel receptionist in the morning of checkout. We approached the front desk to inquire about the breakfast options. We observed the receptionist playing video games on his cell phone with a completely lack of attention. After he discovered we wanted to ask a question, it appeared as if he was highly disturbed at the interruption of the latest "Angry Birds" game. We asked about the breakfast and he aggressively rebutted in a thick French accent, "Look, you go to the restaurant and sit down like any other place!" He then asked sarcastically, "What do you do in a restaurant?" We only inquired about the details of the breakfast because the hotel and restaurant are two separate businesses; one wouldn't naturally deduce that you enter a different business to eat breakfast. Perhaps if this had been explained to us, we wouldn't have needed to interrupt his video games. I told him I didn't appreciate his sarcasm and he evolved into belligerence. He told us he possessed two master degrees in hospitality and tourism. He also told us that he was best friends with the hotel owner, and he would disregard a neg Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Location was the best thing"
All the reviews were good, some great, so I booked because of that and also the price was more reasonable than most. We stayed 2 nights on our way back from a trip (via Miami airport). My husband thought it was just "ok". Rooms were very small. The furniture had no drawers for clothes...only a desk and nite stands. No dressers. You have to live out […] of your suitcase. We kind of tripped over our stuff. Bathroom was nice, but small. Evening desk clerk (male) was super friendly and helpful. Carlos, the weekday car valet, was also super. He carried our bags a ½ block to lobby. On Saturday when we checked out, another valet brought our car around and handed our keys to us in lobby. We tipped him, and he left. He didn't even take our carry-on 20' to our car. The desk clerk helped us. The best thing about it was the location. It was within walking distance to everything! (except the mall, which we had no interest in) We rented bicycles (rental racks all over the place) for 1hr and saw everything we wanted to. They pedaled very easy and smooth. Well worth it. Not sure if we'd stay there again due to size of room. It was fine for 2 nights. BTW, finding an empty parking space is almost nil, so you need to use valet and just walk or bike around the immediate area. They provided a beach bag, bch towels, robes and a safe in the closet. We used all of them. As one reviewer said, she wished they provided regular coffee maker rather than an expresso only. We agree. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly staff and perfect rooms"
Very comfortable, clean and beautiful rooms. The best is how welcoming the staff is. They clearly care about the happiness of their guests. We arrived unprepared, knowing nothing about Miami, and they directed us to many great places, enough to make an awesome vacation week. Thanks for this great time !Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old School Ambiance"
I love that it's kinda hidden. Very polite and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious for SoBe and the price. The room keys are regular keys with a large sun keychain. They even hold them while you're out so you don't lose it. Would stay againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, great rate, great staff"
Really enjoyed our stay in Miami. The location is PERFECT and we got a great rate. It's one block back from the beach strip with tons of restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is really cute. Less than 17 rooms I think and very nicely done. We noticed that from the room you could really hear people outside the room, but this only happened when people […] passed by the hallway, which was infrequent given the size of the hotel. We were also really pleased that it was SO quiet given the area! We'd opted for this hotel in lieu of others on the beach since we heard noise levels were high. I'm used to a Marriott / Westin / W - level hotel, and this was perfect. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not as portrayed in photos"
Overall we were very disappointed with the Impala. The photos on their website overstate the in person appearance. Our entry doors looked like an entrance to some service area. Definitely not a "wow" factor. There is also no elevator in the hotel, so you need to be prepared to lug your bags up and down by yourself. There was no staff to assist with […] bags. The sofa bed was very low quality and old. There is also no parking at this hotel. Valet parking option will run you $25 per day and the valet service was very disappointing. Took us an hour to get our car before leaving. I was very surprised this hotel had been rated as 4.1 - it was a 3.0 in my book. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Cozy Hotel"
I stayed at the Impala because it had good reviews on Hotels.com. I must say the reviews were pretty spot on. I had some trouble finding the place but other than that my stay was great. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. Note there is a $25 a day cost to park your car with the valet. There is basically nowhere to park in Miami Beach […] so it really is the only option. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Charming, quiet hotel near beach, restaurants."
Loved our stay at the Impala on South Beach. This charming hotel is tucked away just two blocks from the beach, and easy to miss if you're not looking for it. The entrance is through a gate between two restaurants which opens up to a quiet garden and the hotel entrance. It's a classy place, but not pretentious, with the air of an Italian villa: lots […] of stone/marble/tile and hard woods. We had a standard queen room that was spacious with a sitting chair, writing desk, two closets, and mini-fridge. Very comfortable bed, linens, and quiet despite location. The bathroom was a bit more cramped generally (close the door if you care to sit on the toilet w/o banging your knees), but the large-open shower was certainly luxurious. Room had thermostat-controlled AC that kept us out-of-towners comfortable in the humidity. Other perks included a beach bag for use during our stay (with beach towels), complementary bottled water on check-in, and pretty awesome cushy robes perfect after a day in the waves. The staff was phenomenal: friendly, courteous, and very helpful in providing tips and directions for our stay. They also practice the older-style of holding your key at the desk when you go out, if you'd like one less thing to remember every day. It's a little thing, but made our stay just that much more enjoyable. Only downside of note: no apparent elevator to get to 2nd floor rooms. We're young and fit, so didn't mind hauling luggage upstairs, but could be concern for others. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great room and location"
Room was exceptionally clean as it's undergone a recent refurb, the rooms are on the small side but as we were only overnighting en route to the keys it was fine. The bed and bed linen were top class and we had a great nights sleep. If you don't know the area it could be a little difficult to find, so as long as you count the address number down from […] when you turn onto Collins Ave when you come of the causeway your be fine. There's a small car park about 30 yards away and there's a valet attendant on the lot, I wood recommend the hotel valet parking it's only $25 for 24 hours, so don't buy a ticket first. Location is great for the beach and bars and reaturants all of which are a short stroll. We would not hesitate to use this hotel again, ideally located, spotlessly clean with helpful and attentive staff at reception. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

From the moment we stepped foot in the hotel impala we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were a nice size and very clean. The bathrooms were updated and the shower was huge! For the location of the hotel it was very quiet. Romain was at the front desk and was so helpful and even helped us pick a restaurant for dinner. Overall we loved our time here and I […] would recommend it to anyone looking for the excitement of south beach but the quiet romantic side of things too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great service and location"
Service great. Room was upgraded without asking, very nice. Checked in early, something I have never experienced as ANY hotel. Coffee maker and clock didn't work right...you have to be in MENSA to figure them out. The picture on the Web site does not look like reality. Would I stay there again? Definitely, at the right price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Impala Stay week of Christmas"
This was my first time to South Beach and wasn't sure if I would be in a good location to walk to Ocean Ave and Lincoln Mall Rd. Well let me tell you this was a great little hotel. We rented a car and now know for our next visit - its' really not necessary. We walked to all of our destinations and rented bikes for a day too. It was tucked out of the […] way from the main road and noise and was perfect for my husband and myself. The room wasn't huge - but we really only slept there so it was perfect. I loved the shower in our room. It was an open concept with a glass wall. We really enjoyed our stay and would return to the Impala without hesitation. The staff was very friendly and helpful - all around a pleasant stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This is a great boutique hotel with a wonderful staff, great rooms with VERY comfortable beds, and a lovely little garden with tables for relaxing or snacking. "Quaint, Boutique Hotel with Fantastic Staff"
From the outside, the Impala hotel may not seem like much, but the indoor decor is classy, boutique and inviting. From the moment we arrived we were treated with respect, kindness, and had a real sense that our comfort was of great importance. We received a complimentary upgrade after sharing that our travel into the city was a bit rough. Anytime we […] had a question about the city, where to go, what to do, travel from the hotel etc. we received a helpful and thoughtful response. The deluxe room with king bed wasn't huge, but made up for size in class. The bed was amazingly comfortable! In the top 5 hotel beds I've experienced. The bathroom has great stone fixtures and rain-shower head that never ran out of hot water. One of the few cons included relatively thin doors that made it so that morning activities out in the lobby of the hotel were easily heard and decreased our feeling of privacy. Luckily, the overall hotel atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We had a really lovely stay here. We stopped one night to see the night life pf South beach Miami. The staff advised us not to eat on ocean drive, and that was not the first time we heard that, they sent us to a really nice Italian restaurant on Espanola way and even made reservations for us. The rooms are very clean and the staff were lovely, we didn't […] get up in time for breakfast so can't comment on the food. Overall the hotel exceeded our expectations, I have payed a lot more money to stay in worse hotel. Also their parking is reasonable (I think) $25 for the day you arrive until 4pm the next day. Impala was a pleasure to stay at! It's beautiful and the staff really can't do enough for you. We didn't eat at Impala but the Italian restsurant attached was always busy!! The only thing that was slightly annoying was that it was difficult to find, it's very tucked away. The restaurant attached is more prominent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel location was great"
We stayed from 9/20/13 until 9/23/13 and stayed in the queen bed suite in room 208. Our recommendation came through Expedia. The hotel was convenient for shopping and the Ocean Dr experience. The staff is friendly. The valet service notified us ahead of time to always call 25 minutes prior to needing the car. It would have been nice to have a coffee […] maker instead of expresso maker in the room. Our room was cleaned daily. There is no noise at night which allowed for us to get our sleep. The suite was roomy for two individuals. You are required to turn in your key to the desk each time you leave the hotel, which is the first time I had this experience, but we became comfortable with it during our stay. I wound not recommend this hotel for seniors or those with disabilities since there is no elevator and the bath tub is deep and I had to careful getting in and out of the bath tub. If you like going to and from the room while at the beach or on the Ocean Dr strip, it can be quite a walk based on where you set up on Ocean Dr since it is not practical to try moving your car since you are already paying for valet services at the hotel. We enjoyed it very much. The weather was not so good. We had 1 and half good days. The staff at the hotel were so good about giving us recommendations on things we could do or go. The Hop and Stop bus tour was very good. We enjoyed all the sights. If the weather had been better we could have done all the outdoor things we wanted. Can't hold Miami responsible […] for that. "Excellent location for New Year's night life"
Overall this was a very enjoyable stay at a convenient location which we really enjoyed. The hotel staff was fantastic and very accomodating for many of our needs and the location was fantastic for access to the beach (2 blocks away) and the South Beach night life on Ocean Drive! Lots of great restaurants and pubs to choose from. While an older hotel, […] many of the facilities were remodeled/upgraded such as the bathroom facilities, flatscreen TV and free Wi-Fi. Also, there is an excellent (but pricey) Italian restaurant (Spiga) at the front of the building. The main downside was a room along the alley where the noise of the trash truck would wake you an ocassional morning. We would definitely stay at the Impala again. "Great all-around South Beach hotel."
My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for five days and I would highly recommend it. Hotel was spacious. Location is perfect. Bed slept excellent. Had slight issue with ceiling leaking when it rained really hard one morning. "I will definitely stay at The Impala again"
The staff are amazing and very courteous. The location was perfect, in the middle of all the fun, yet tucked away a bit off the street so it was quite. The place has the feel of being in Spain, and the rooms are clean and spacious. "Great Hotel, best location, Clean, friendly staff"
I really enjoyed staying at The Impala hotel despite a glitch in the reservation through Expedia; a Deluxe room with a king bed was booked for 3 persons so we had to use a roll away bed for the third person. Chrystal (sp?), the manager called me prior to our arrival and offered to refund us but it was impossible to book another hotel without paying […] much more so we ended up keeping the reservation despite being a bit annoyed at having to use a roll away bed for the 3rd person. However, once we arrived in Miami and at the Impala, my friends and I (3 women in our early 30s) were not disappointed by our room. Very clean room in a nicely decorated boutique hotel. The location, that is, South Beach, a couple blocks away from the beach was essential to us because all we wanted was go lay on the beach all day, eat out, and last but not least go clubbing. I would definitely recommend the Impala if you want to have a stress-free hotel experience. Special nod to Kyle who works the night shift at the reception, we absolutely enjoyed speaking to him, he was the NICEST ever, we were dispappointed we missed saying goodbye to him on our last night in Miami :-( Kyle, the 3 girls in room 100 would def hang out with you next time we get back to Miami!!
