i have been staying here a few days each month for 5 years. customer service has changed recently. they advertise 5 HBO channels in front but there are only 2. there is no longer a morning complimentary paper. breakfast is bread and coffee. no longer can you depend on towels and soap in your room.

The hotel employees generous, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms were on the nicer side of cheap hotels. As for amenities, they include a microwave, hair dryer, and a coffee maker. I would definitely stay here again.

The people up front were amazing so nice and friendly but the room wasn't the best. There was a weird buzzing noise going in all night I think it might have been from the TV or microwave and the room had no ventilation and to top it off the whole plumbing system didn't work the sink wouldn't drain the water and there was no hot water so I had the coldest shower I've ever had at a hotel.

Rooms were just OK but that was OK with us as we didn't want to spend much time in a hotel room while on vacation anyway! If you have stayed at other Days Inns this is similar but maybe on the lower end of the Days Inn scale. Breakfast, which is included, was very minimalist: coffee, tea, juice (from some kind of mix), toast, cereal and some pastries. Good way to save money to spend in downtown San Diego and at Balboa Park!

Positives: Beds were clean. Carpets were pretty clean. Liked the refrigerator in the room. Negatives: Rained all day the first day and we got two leaks dripping from the ceiling. One part of the ceiling looked like it was opening up. Only got one washcloth per day. When we went to the office to ask for more, they said the laundry was closed or there weren't any more. (What??) Shower lever didn't work well and half the water was coming out of the tub spout which caused the tub to fill ankle deep while taking a shower. Key cards were demagnetized daily for each of the three rooms our party reserved. Had to go to the office every evening to re-key them. What a pain, when you are getting back from a full day of excursions and all you want to do is go to your room and take a shower and crash.

My worst experience in a Days Inn hotel: Room assigned as far of front desk with 2 luggage pieces; when I open the door, a cockroach tried to enter to the room, I killed it; inside the room, 2 flies in the ceiling and one more flying, 2 fused lamps bulbs (I tried in the 3rd lamp working); 4 light contact wall out of service. I requested another room and I received. For the check out I requested leave my luggage in the front desk for an hour during the lunch in Dennys (across the street) and the person there say that they have prohibited by the Manager receive any kind of luggage because the responsibility of any open, lost or damaged luggage will be something out of their control.

I do not like to give negative reviews but this was not a pleasant stay. I have stayed at budget hotels before and there is always a trade off in price for quality. This particular experience was just bad. First off, the room was not very clean (walking on the carpet turned my children's socks black. The hotel is run down and in need of serious renovations. Second, and most important, the people in the room next door were arguing all night long, then again in the morning. We fortunately switched rooms to a nicer, cleaner one on the second day but still woke up to noisy neighbors, not fighting this time, just having a conversation outside their room at 7:30 am, on Thanksgiving weekend. I would definitely not stay at this hotel again. Sad, because I have had very good experience at Days Inn hotels/motels in the past.

Hotel staff gave us a room in the back of the hotel but the room smelled like a wet dog and was sort of a shady area as there was a suspicious lady hanging outside her room smoking a cigarette and what appeared to be waiting for 'someone'. Hotel staff what nice enough to give us another room but told us this room was reserved for international guests. Sort of taken back when we got in the room. It was a lot larger and was by the pool. So because I reserved my room on Expedia I didn't deserve the larger room and by the pool? How would the hotel staff had known I was not international or how would have Expedia known I wasn't international. I was confused but thankful the staff provided a better alternative room. Asked for a couple of extra towels and was told I was given the last towel in the hotel. Ok Interesting. Comfortable quiet stay though. Would stay there again.

The hotel staff werent willing to help is with anything. Our rooms were supposed to be next to each other and we were on other sides of the building and different floors. The breakfast buffet was pointless. Food was gine and not replenished after twenty minutes. Air conditioner was broke, hot tub caused my husband yo break out in a terrible radh, and the gym is non existent.

We checked in a little after midnight. When we arrived to our room it was a horrible site. The room had a bad order, sheets were torn, dead bugs on chairs, towels was not a bright white color and the light was dimmed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I chose this hotel for the hot tub, but it never got hot, and we tried in the evening and the morning; this was very disappointing. The staff was nice enough, but the hotel definitely need updating. It was sufficient for one night, but I will not return.

The room was a surprise on how nice it was. The area is not the best, but we had no problems. Our door must have been kicked in at one time due to door plate replacement I had to throw all my weight against the door to open it. If I stayed more than 1 night I would have changed rooms.

Our room was small--we had a room with a king bed. We felt like we had to do a balancing act to get to the bathroom. The neighborhood was not the best, but we didn't have any problems and there are several restaurants nearby.

I thought it odd that there is a sign in your room that states, "if you forgot a toiletry item, that they will provide one for you." However, my husband used the lobby bathroom and there were no paper towels. He mentioned to the person at the front desk that the bathroom needed to be restocked with paper towels and my husband was told, "yeah, we don't have them." Hmmm. As we checked in, the gentleman working the front desk was not friendly and very brief in answering any of our questions. A different gentlemen checked us out the following day and was very polite. Overall, the room was clean and air conditioner worked well. For the price, this is a decent place to stay for one night. I wouldn't want to stay much longer than that.

Hotel guest looked like they lived there. People hanging out in the balconies and one guest was drying his laundry outside his room.

the hotel overall cleamliness and confort of the room is good for what you pay, whats unacceptable is the customer service, the cable was not working and the guy all he can say was "i'll check with my supervisor" and thats it, he never returned. Also they can barely speak english !!

The AC was not working. The beds were very uncomfortable and there was trash from the previous guest in the room. There were also people fighting in front of the room at 1am in the morning. We wanted to hangout by the pool but the chairs were broke and unusable. We checked out a day early and went to a different hotel.

The hotel is located 20 min from zoo, mission beach boardwalk, coronado etc The room was nicer than expected and grounds and pool area are kept clean which is always a nice feature. located right by restaurants,freeway entrance, gas station (ideal spot to stay) I would definitely stay again on my next vacation weekend away.

We had a pleasant stay here. The exterior looks a little rough, but the rooms are quite nice. They were clean and updated. The noise level was very low. We did our laundry there, so they have soap and dryer sheets available (for a $1). I would suggest they get a quarter machine in there. The gentlemen up front did not have enough change so we had to walk next door to the gas station. The breakfast was ok. Waffles, pastries, cereal. We are a bacon and eggs family so we went to Denny's, which is conveniently right across the street. Like I said, you get what you pay for. For $85 a night, it was a place to sleep. The beds are comfortable and the cleaning ladies were very friendly. The hot water lasted quite awhile. 3 of us had to take a shower and by the time I was done (I was the last one) it was still steaming hot, which is nice. Especially since we were at the beach all day. I had no issues and would stay here again.

I don't have any complaints. The staff was nice, the breakfast was more than most hotels (waffles, cereal, oatmeal, pastries, coffee and juice), the room was fine, bed comfortable and the location was perfect. We were close to San Diego but didn't have to pay the higher SD hotel price. Has a pool and Jacuzzi too.

rooms are old smelling like mildew ,air conditioning not working Wi-Fi not working no place to hang clothes. The bed was comfortable wanted king only queen was available

Grounds are not clean... Lots of cigarette butts. A/C had to be set at 60 to cool room. Coffee was decent

AC did not work. There was no wireless internet. Breakfast was horrible only coffee and fruits. Terrible place will never stay there again!!!!

Not bad. Staff was nice.The place needed a few things but for the price it was on point. Breakfast was decent. Alwasy full and someone cleaning the area. Needs a bigger area but other than that it was good. Front desk was helpful on how to get to places. I saw some bad reviews and i think it has to be from people that need to stay in a $500 night room. I would stay here again.
