It took too much time for registration. The Clerk had a difficult time locating the confirmed reservation. It was not listed as a "Hotel.Com" reservation and there was some confusion that took some time for a senior citizen to have to stand and go look for her confirmation.

The entire hotel staff is very polite and greated us every time we walked through the front door. The cleaning staff is excellent. We had five rooms and the staff made sure we were on the same floor; together. Breakfast was delicious and hot every morning. It was a delightful experience.

First of all this hotel is in a rough part of town. The pool is not only outside, but a bit away from the buliding and a tiny pool. The breakfast was awful, let alone always running out of stuff. The room had black hairs all in the bathroom. We could hear the cars on the street. Many sirens going through town. The coffee pot in the room was missing […] the piece to hold the coffee grounds. Our room has a refrigerator and microwave. The next morning we found out that there were a lot of choices for breakfast. There were always warm cinnamon buns, bagels and bread that you can toast with a choice of butter, different jams and cream cheese. Yogurt- light and regular are also available. Boiled eggs, egg omelet and different meat each day. […] There were juice choices too and International Delight hazelnut, vanilla coffee creamer and half and half to complement regular and decaf coffee. The location of the hotel is near I-805 and if you decide to walk, both sides of the street offer a lot of food and store choices. We enjoyed the food at the Manila Sunset and cakes at the nearby Goldilocks and Red Ribbon. There was also a Chase Bank across the stores making it super convenient. Aside from the free Wi-Fi, there was a computer that anyone can use for checking e-mail or research. Although, the printer was out of order, the reception desk can help you get a printed copy if you need it. This is where The Holiday Inn Express at 1645 East Plaza Blvd. National City captured our hearts, when Ms. Brenda at the Reception Desk offered to print WITHOUT CHARGE prayers (not a lot) that we have to distribute later that day for the viewing of our dead relative the reason why we flew to San Diego, CA on Thanksgiving Day. We offered to pay but she refused saying that she was just doing her job which we thought was nice and caring. We will stay here again. Thank you so much! Read more

Convenient location to freeway and all activities in San Diego area. Hotel staff very polite and helpful. Nicely appointed rooms and a great housekeeping staff. Small but very nice outdoor pool...and adjoining hot tub. Tasty breakfast selections, but missed a waffle machine.
